2 years to this day and pretty much minute, I joined FR for the first time 2 years ago. A time when FR was known by about 20 people. We were counting members leave and join but it was still that idiotic place that I call a home. Never did I believe that two years on I'd have owned i for 3 months. I've grown and changed and so has the club, but the principle has stayed the same - a place where friends are family.
I want to thank everyone who has supported the club over the years. From Ava Northstar, Kate Mysteryfield and Sophia Riverbridge the previous owners; to everyone who joined the waiting list. It's been a pleasure to know every one of you and I'm so glad that I was in the right place at the right time 2 years ago. Another thank you to everyone who came to the open event tonight. A better description of what happened will be found shortly on FR's blog (here) but here are some photos. We had a private informal FR hang out afterwards because I wanted to say Happy Birthday with the family!

I had the most amazing day with the club today. I mean it! We just had a laugh, lots of fun and got to be us. So think of this as a cross between some of the amazing things FR does as well as a bit of a day in the life of a Frostie. Around lunch time I got into a call with Leah (who isn't in the photo below), Louisa and Ellie. We had a bit of a random chat about life while doing the friendship race for hearts which we exchanged for clothes and tack. I then came off line for a few hours to study and fix my blog for Spring (what do you think). Around 6pm I logged back on to add two people to the club. As is becoming traditional, we met at SGEC where I took a photo prior to joining. Lots of Frosties had been wanting them to join for a while, so the second the photos were done and Willow and Sav had joined them came over and had a welcome party, lots of rearing of course! It was then time for the event (more detail will be on FR website tomorrow). After the event we went climbing which quickly turned into hopping around GED. Or rather hopping ONTO the crates at GED! Lauren didn't quite understand the on bit and quickly fell off again, as shown below! I then went to hide behind a digger (we were in a Skype call this whole time). I told them that the first person to find me would get leader for the evening. Lilian found me first and so she got her wish. Lots of people then started hinting that they wanted to sit in the chair as well. So I just promoted everyone and let then mess around in the club hall with the leader things. Lots of people were also (jokingly) ranked down and removed throughout the evening. However, it all got a bit wild so I went to a nice quite hill to sort of the ranks and breathe! In FR you're never alone for long and Priscilla and Ellie came to join me on Hillard the hill. The chat started to slow and we spoke about relationships (much giggling on Skype) before I logged off for the evening at about 9pm. So that's why i love FR, it's just a place where a crazy group of friends can be together and chill and make each other feel awesome.
Ok so I think it's time I spoke about FR as some people seemed to have grabbed the wrong end of a large stick. Before I start I want to make this clear, if you aren't in FR then I'm not sure how you can know what's happening in FR. Speaking to old members isn't going to help you because they left for a reason - they didn't feel like the club was for them. Which is fair enough but I doubt they will give an unbiased view on what the club is about.
FR is a place where friends can hang out and have a laugh. In short, yes we are a family. With SSO, Whatsapp, Instagram and fan groups we're just a group of people who like spending time together (even though they're all newbies) and having a laugh. We do have 3 organized events a week because people enjoy doing them and running them. We also have unorganized 'events' (they're more just hang outs) where we do whatever, climb, photo shoot, etc. There are many misconceptions about activity. You do not have to attend events, you just have you be an active member of the family. Whether this is just speaking on SSO chat, attending events or on chat outside SSO. If you never (without reason) join in with the club then there isn't a whole lot of point of you being in it. Before we remove people we do speak to them so that if there is a reason they don't get removed. So yeah, if you've been confused about what FR is about there is the real explanation - we're just a place where friends are family! It’s the last day of 2016! I look back on this year and I can still think of New Year’s Eve last year. I haven’t changed, have I? I haven’t done anything, have I? I haven’t got better, have I? I wanted to make a list of all of my Star Stable achievements this year with the odd real life one!
1. Becoming a leader in FR 2. Blogging for a year 3. Winning a championship 4. Getting a high score of the day 5. Becoming owner of FR 6. Keeping FR going 7. Getting 200 readers on my blog a week 8. Getting 1750 views on my blog in a week 9. Getting my kayaking 2 star award 10. More active Instagram 11. More active blog 12. Skyping Star Stable members and talking 13. Winning Youth Speaks 14. Learnt to love myself as much as I love others Wooh! These are only the big things, many smaller things have happened as well. So it’s time for 5 goals in the new year. 1. Post daily on Instagram 2. Upload a video twice a week on YouTube 3. Enter more championships 4. Every member of FR is active 5. Be myself more Yay! I wish you all a Happy New Year. What are your achievements and goals? Let’s take a look at global. “Will you joining my club” “342 to join my club” “SNEAKY WOLVES, ACTIVE, FRIENDLY, 444 TO JOIN” “Mail Harry Potter to join the DA today!”
Okay, I made the last one up, but honestly there’s so much spam on global for clubs. I think that there needs to be somewhere else to advertise your clubs, and for people to search for a new one. But where? How about the notice board in Silverglade? A club owner would go there and write a short paragraph about their club. Then someone could browse through the clubs and read the paragraph. They could also see the amount of people in the club and the amount of people online. Then they could contact the owner via a button which would send the owner a mail notifying them that someone was interested in join with that person’s name. I think that this would be much better for club owners and those people who wish to find a club! This idea was based on an initial idea by Esme Silverforce Hello! I spent today preparing for my holiday because I wanted to do most of the scheduled posts today. I also finally got Pokemon go! I haven’t actually been anywhere yet but I’m a level 4 and planning to choose Valour (I think it’s called that).
But most important, in the evening FR ran a massive open event! I was surprised with the turn out. Almost 50 people came which is pretty crazy! I’ve just had a busy day being a club owner and doing all of the admin. Not much to post about because all of my creativity is currently in writing the posts for when I’m away. Today in Frosty Roses we had our St. Lucia event! St. Lucia is a festival which is celebrated in many countries including Sweden, which is why we celebrated it today. Everyone voted for our Lucia who was Elizabeth Eveningnight and then dressed up in various outfits, from candle holders to Santas to Gingerbread men
We did a parade. However, I want to talk to you about the SSO community. Normally in events we had people joining in but today some people did and we didn’t mind. They walked around the city with us sensibly and just were doing it to have fun. Then, at the end we went to the Ice Cream place where we were ‘served’ by some happy ‘waitresses’! I love this about the Star Stable community that you don’t even have to talk to some to (for example) engage in a rear off. It’s a unique thing to here and I’m happy to be a part of it. But more importantly, 13 days until Christmas! I have decided to continue with the blogging challenge. Today is what I look for and don’t look for in a riding club. I think that if you are looking for a club it is good to make a list so you can tick off the things you want. However, I have a club that I love very much and I hope I won’t ever have to find a club any.
1. The club must be active. I don’t want to be a part of a ghost club! The members must come to events and talk on the chat. Also I like clubs where people Skype and use other chats outside SSO. 2. The club has to be mature. Obviously not all of the time. But there’s a fine line between people who mess around and people who are just plain immature. I can sometimes find it hard to relate to people who don’t have a sensible side so a club full of them would be my nightmare. 3. I like a club with a family atmosphere but it still has order to it. For example, ranks are based on who you are as a person and how you are as a member. A club with only one, or the other isn’t the place for me. 4. Friends! I like to know someone in the club prior to joining. If I don’t it isn’t the end of the world but it is always nice to go somewhere where you get to meet plenty of new people but you have some oldies as well! What do you look for in a club? I think I don’t talk about FR enough here on my blog, which is weird because between blogging and FR my whole SSO life is completely taken up! So I thought I’d just take the time to talk about FR and what the clubs means to me.
I joined Frosty Roses on the 2nd March 2015 - the day it was created. The first night was very crazy! Everyone was counting members (the excitement when we got to 20) and was generally just having a laugh. It was the first time that I’d been in a club with an atmosphere like this. Little did I know that some of the people that I’d meet over the next few days would end up being some of my closest friends! For the rest of 2015 FR had a bumpy ride. I won’t go into all the ins and outs, but it disbanded several times, moved server to UF (EN2) and SS (WE1). Through this time I was coming out of newbe phases and I had started to take responsibility towards the club by running the website. At New Year 2016 FR returned! I was so happy but then in later January it went again. Disappointment. But in early February it came back, and something has changed. The roles of 3 leader spaces and a co owner space were open. I really wanted a space as I simply wanted to be able to support this family and make sure it never disbanded again. Somehow I got the role of co owner! I was literally sitting behind my screen crying in tears of joy. V and I work together to run FR. I am the main one behind things such as points, lessons, some events (although of course V runs and supervises pretty much the same amount) and other things, a lot of admin mainly. V is the one on the front line, solving the drama, keeping everyone happy 9she just has this way with people, I don’t even know…) and that kind of thing. FR is a place where people can just hang out, be free and be themselves! If you are interested in reading about FR, click here to go to our blog that recently I have started running with V. Not much has been done on it so far, but it will have overviews of every event, who’s joining, and other little things that have been going on! Clues in the title, it’s time to talk about the club Frosty Roses. I joined FR on the day it was created, merely by chance that I was at Steve’s paddock that night. For the last year and a 1/4 they have been my family and I am so proud of them. At the start I was just another member, but in the first 3 weeks I made it as one of the first five experienced riders. Over the next few months I worked my way up to RI, but if I’m honest it didn’t change much about my role in the club. I wasn’t a born leader, in fact my first few attempts ended badly. FR had drama ect and disbanded many times. In early January when they came back, I made it my pledge to not let FR disband again. Alas, it did. But this time, when it came back, leader elections would take place. I must admit, I believed that people would vote for their friends rather then me. The result surprised me so much, and yet I was so happy that I could stop FR from ever going again. So far I have succeeded and I’m glad to say FR is still here. However, over time FR has become inactive. It isn’t anyone’s fault but people who joined a year ago, might of been active then, but they aren’t now. These people log on once every 1/2 weeks, which means removal is hard. Also they are part of the family. Fortunately, recently V (Ava Northstar) has cleared up some of those members and some we need to talk to to try and get them to come on more. This amount of spaces could mean only one thing - open event. The event started at GHV, I think we never got a photo with us all in as there was so many of us! We all lined up in two lines - FR and non FR. We started to hack up to the swamp and we spent the next half an hour getting people into groups and lining them up ready to race. The race was interesting and hard to organise. But I’m glad that I could prove to myself that I could. We then hacked for a BBQ at GHV stable where we sat and closed of the event. All this while FR were talking on club about who should join FR out of the ten who turned up. It was a hard choice but in the end we had to go with Elizabeth, Van and Aria. I wish we could of added everyone but there we are! Photos to Ava Northstar
About 3 months after I started Star Stable I asked on say chat for a club. I was answered by Denise Braveknight. He added me to Everwind Knights and my sisters and I loved it. We enjoyed the small but active club. Around February/ March we left Everwind Knights. The name was taken but Denise made a club called Silverglade Comets. My sisters and I had much fun in that club and I love it still. Silver glade Comets has gone but it built me so much as a person. Denise has left Star Stable but he said he still reads my blog. I’m not sure whether this is true but if it is: Denise, You were the first person on SSO besides my sisters who let me into a club. You are the second person I remember meeting on the game and you gave you the building blocks for being a leader in FR. Your clubs have taught me so much about myself and while I continue to learn and grow I want to say thank you. So thank you Denise, it shows that hard work pays off. These are some really old photos of a picnic we had together.
I'm sorry to say that all the people in this photo I am no longer in contact with. We have either fallen out or just lost contact. But you all built me as a person, and thank you. I'm having a throw back day, okay? Much to everyone's surprise I decided to run a Western event. Western riding in the game is often just looked over, and people normally do Cross Country, dressage and show jumping, which are all forms of English riding. Like English riding there are many forms of Western. We normally do Pole bending and barrel racing. But I taught everyone some trail and reining. It went very well and we got n event I'd planned for an hour in 45 minutes. First I look everyone around a western trail I'd made. In trail you have to walk, trot and canter, as well as gallop. We had lots of fun doing it, and we had a lot of cheaters (those people who decided to gallop and not trot). But it was all good fun!
We then proceeded onto reining. We weren't making a routine, simply learning the movements. We started by playing a game. I'd say a western movement and they'd all try and guess what it was. Then I'd correct them/ confirm it. Here are some of the movements: Circles - basically you ride your horse around in a circle (no way!), normally in a slow gallop or canter. Rundown - You gallop about 20 meters along the side of the arena. It normally ends in another movement. Sliding stop - First you do a rundown and then you stop your horse and let it skid to a stop. Backup - you need to back the horse up for about 10 meters. Rollback - you need to perform a rundown and bring your horse to a sliding stop, but as you stop you need to turn 180 decrees. Turnarounds - you need to basically just turn around 180 or 360 decrees. Hesitate - pause for X number of seconds. After we went through all these, we finished by me saying a movement and everyone doing that movement! Well trying to. I enjoyed doing a lesson that was a bit different and I hope this will happen more in the future. So I decided to run an event for people of the waiting list. It is a great way for getting to know a few people, here is an overview of what happened. I didn't get many photos due to the fact that I was busy check say, friend (about 6 different chats) and club chat, not really wanting to take my eyes of any of them! So it started with very few people there, but after 10 minutes of gathering people most people had arrived. It was about 20 people. I know some people dropped in and out a bit. The event started with us all basically in a huge group at the observatory with everyone a bit confused. After 5 minutes of a lot more confusion everyone was divided up into 4 very unequal groups. Thank you to the original leaders of the groups, Ally, Joe, Vio and Ange. The idea was that a group there were 1 - 3 waiting list people and 1 - 3 Frostie people and a group leader whose job it was to check club chat for any gathering information and basically leader and keep their group together. After about 15 minutes we hacked to Silverglade Equestrian Center were we got everyone to line up in their groups and count the Easter eggs around the site. I believe Joe's group counted one (the one Joe was wearing, wow guys), Vio's group 16 (well at least you tried), Ange's group 23 (close) and Ally's group 27 (despite the fact that Ally herself couldn't see the eggs). In totally there are 30 eggs at SGEC, not including the eggs at the stall. Then I gave everyone a set of directions to find a place on the map. It was at this point we said good bye to Ange and Lil stepped in as group leader. I gave these directions (starting from sgec) "To go the nearest mailbox and face North. Go north until you go passed a wooden hut on your left, turn East. Go east over the road until you reach a tree, then turn South until you reach the stone." After everyone had found that we said goodbye to Ally and Panda took over a group leader. I then gave a long description of a place which was something like "I love South Jovik. Here I stand, looking out onto the land of the horse goddess, or so tells the women with the name of a fish, I wonder who left the hearts and hobby horse here" And that was it, thank you everyone who came, it was loads of fun!
So all last week we were voting on who we thought should be co-owner of FR. I voted of course, but don't want to reveal who...
A big well done to Emma Deerlee and Emma Turtlebaker who got event leader. This means they have to run events regularly. And of course a huge well done to Avery Eaglestorm for new member buddy. I'm sure many new members would be lost without you :) Everyone said co-owner was obvious. Truefully, I couldn't think who they were on about. I was running though everyones names in my head just thinking "I wonder". Well it was me! Of course I couldn't see it. I was so pleased that I was actually crying in front of my laptop. I think it went very well and I am also very proud of helping chosing the Riding Instructor ranks. We did mini lessons for everyone and asked the members to vote. I won't say names but 11 people voted in total. 3 each for 3 people and 2 for the other person. The person who got two we decided would have back up rider, and then one of the people with 3 sine we thought the other two were very good. Not better, just had also been members longer ect. We then chose two people who were considered at leader (since it is fair to give them a decent rank) and it looked like this. Main RI: Courtney Hayfoot Isabel Oaklee Back ups: Ashley Pinehill Aleksandrina Shyforest Vera Lionbell Amelia Snowstorm So I thought I'd clear out my friends list. I have too many people on there who I don't know their name or anything about them! So I thought I'd delete all of them, plus I few I know but don't talk to. I just felt I only really want close friends on my friends list if that makes sense? Anyway, a friends list is just a load of pixels, all it means t me is I don't have to spell their name when I right them letters and we can chat by ourselves.
~Club update~ Frosty Roses is back and wonderful and all that, so I rejoined. I am running an event on Saturday and so I hope my club life is back on the road! I'm very sorry for posting a lot on my club right now, but there is so much going on in my club life. Actually, I found it too much and found it was starting to effect other things. What other things?
And so you see, maybe it is better if I just give it a rest for a bit. I know I will want to join a club in the end, but until then I'm saying no clubs full stop. No making clubs, no joining. Nothing. Li has ended her life long ranks about club now, won't be hearing about it again for a while (you wish)!
Recently there has been a bit of trouble with FR. It ended in the lovely owner, Ava Northstar, leaving Star stable. I am thinking about moving server. Unicorn Forest, or even further? It feels like Frosty Roses isn't my home, but let's not delve into this really. I'm just glad, for now, to have somewhere to be.
I am in a club called Frosty Roses. www.frsso.weebly.com. Here are the photos of our week together Thank you for being a part of my life. Ava Northstar and Sophia (Mayo) Riverbridge, thank you for running such a wonderful club.
I am very sad to say that a few nights ago North Trackers disbanded. It disbanded because Liv felt she couldn't do it anymore and when she was offered a place in The Enigmas, well it seemed perfect. TE doesn't know me very well, therefore, I can't join, yet. I tried to find a club and I found this very small (5 member) club However, on Friday, me and the owner talked about moving the club to Fast Tide, a new club in need a members, like us, but was already bigger. After much stress of getting us all there I am now in Fast Tide and I hope to have a good time there and make new friends. It is hard to start from the bottom of a club again, haha, but it will do me good. And maybe one day I will be able to join TE
Okay so last time I updated you see I was in Frosty Roses? Well Frosty Roses moved over to Unicorn Forest as they wanted a break from being a "big popular club" and just wanted to be a family. I would love to follow them, however, I have too many friends on Cupcake Valley just to pack up and leave them. Frosty Roses you remain always a part of my heart... So which club am I in now? North Trackers! My very good friend Liv Oaknight owns it and I am excited to call myself a Tracker! There are so many new people to meet and rest assured I will not be leaving for a while (unless you count when I press leave by mistake)! Learn more about them at www.ssont.weebly.com
