It's time to do the Jorvik City quests! I will do a seperate post with the Madison quests and of course expect the home stable and clothes posts later on. Warning: this may contain spoilers of the most reccent update of Star Stable Online. Oh, poor Janitor. He feels unvalued. I'll get him some chocolate hearts to take there. Me? Actually, I don't mind. It's my first to going to Jorvik City! It looks like there are a lot of areas in there to be released soon. Hello Iris! Yes, it is very nice of him. Very very nice of him... You want to go on a date? Where? Where's that? Thank you! But I see a cross women, I should go and see what's up first. No! It wasn't me! If I clear that up will you think I'm inncoent? Good because I hate false accusations. Paint? Um, thank you, I guess. (What could I possibley use it for?) What's all of this noise? I'm Li. And what's wrong. All of this noise because you can't get a sofa into the house. Wow, even FR is more mature then this... Honestly, do people think I need furniture? I can't get any of it into my home stable! Okay I'm going to get on the tram. Oh, sorry. I'm Li by the way, you must be Harry? What does that mean? Okay! It looks pretty clean to me, I'll go and show Harry. Okay. I wish I could eat that ice cream... Okay, fine! Nice jacket, don't you think? Everyone is going on about Pier 13 so I think I might just check it out... Is this really the place for a fisherman? Okay I'll do it (I keep falling into the mucky water, yuck). So it was built way a French man and all of the parts were air lifted in my a zeppalin? Wow! Fine, I'll help you and your 'bad back'. Zwölf is Ze Wolf! Sorry, I can't take that name seriously! Well I don't get a choice!
I loved some of the animations in these quests, they were really good! I think these quests were more to help people exlore the new area and learn their way around. It's still pretty cool and I liked it!

It’s here, Jorvik City is here! There’s so much to write about, quests, area, new things, home stable furniture. But I climb on Wednesday so I recorded the quests but haven’t blogged about them or the clothes yet, that’s my plan for tomorrow. Tomorrow I will also expand on the home stable furniture since you get it through quests it will fit best there. Today I will jus talk about all three of the areas inside the City and use the captions to take you through them. But before I start I’d like to say a few things, First SSO has improved so much over the years. There are so many awesome things in their new area. I really like that. However, I have two complaints. First you can’t take your horse. It’s the horse game and you horse stays lonely at FP? Also it is a ‘closed’ map. This means that you cannot run around all of it and you have to virtually travel between them. Click on an image to see my view on it! I feel like that is the posh place in town where people who want a slightly quiter version on town life live. It's my favourite of the 3 places. Now, let's move onto Governors Falls (intesting name). There's so much to happen around this area, this is certainly the centre of town! Moving onto misterious Pier 13... There are so many potentional quests to happen here, I can't wait!
Overall: The new area is very realistic and has a lot of future updates with the opening of Jollisters, DC, and many quests with everyone we haven't met yet from the guy on his phone to the dance class. I wish that it was bigger but I understand that with this much detail and new code it must have taken a very long time. I hope that we get Star Acadmey type quests soon as well as main story quests with Dark Core. I would also like some of the areas in the city to be opened up over time, but still quite frequently. I am most excited to visit the museum as I hope that you can learn about Jorvik's history there. A mssive thank you to the SSO team for this amazing area. Also they mentioned a treat in FP? It was some presents that you put in your saddle bag. I thought that it was a really cute area and the presents weren't too expensive so I got all three: Jorvik City! It looks so beautiful. If you haven’t already watch the trailer, if you have it’s time for a refresh! So what do we know:
1. You get a bus from Fort Pinta. 2. There is a statue of Aideen. 3. There are several eating places. 4. There is a town square. 5. There are quests, possibly to do with the fountain. 6. There is a kind of kitchen? 7. There is a shop for antiques (possibly the museum) 8. There is some kind of florist 9. Trams are the main form of travel 10. Jollister is a shop that is ‘opening soon’ There is furniture in the windows, could it sell things for our home stables? 11. There is a Dark Core quests - new main story line quests! It looks really good but I am disappointed that you most likely won’t be able to take your horse. Also, I hope that it is only open for higher levels, maybe 13 plus. I can’t wait for more main line story quests but if I’m honest I can’t get that excited for Jorvik City. The cities are not what I play SSO for, it is the horses ad the landscape. I feel like South Hoof was to balance that out. I feel like this won’t be a part of the map, it will be like the mall, disconnected from the rest of the game. Well, it might be better then first looks. What did you think? Once upon a time, this was all that there was to our beautiful map. There was no such thing as heading over in the ferry to Jarlahiem or going bone hunting in Dino Valley. It was all just the Silverglade area and today I want to take you through when all the areas came out!
2012 - this was the first area added to game in the Autumn and fitting this time of year it was called Golden Hills Valley and was available for level 12 upwards after you’d done the Riding Hall guard dog quests. This beautiful autumnal area captured the hearts of everyone who played at that time. 2013 - the Harvest Countries came out! This area was available for level 5 and over Star Riders. This area was the latest fashion with moving gates and horses that galloped around with no riders on. 2014 - an interview confirmed that the 2014 area would be Valley of the Hidden Dinosaur, leading on from previous quests with Nick Stoneground. You need to be level 15 plus but this area was never as popular as previous areas due to the fact that the fog got in the way! `Spring 2015 - the mall was opened. Many don’t count this as an area but it is. At first there was no new clothes and it was just all of the old clothes brought together into 3 shops. The escalators were of great fascination and it was the first SSO update that I couldn’t wait to play! November 2015 - Epona was coming! It was the night of my speaking competition so I missed it which was sad but the compass quests and GED was so exciting and New Hillcrest is just the most realistic place on the map! Spring 2016 - South Hoof hit the shores of Jorvik, or rather the ships did when the lighthouse went out. The wild horses over here really were exciting and many a wild role-play will be located there. Winter 2016 - the alleged Jorvik City will be revealed... evil’s gap. Right at the start of the game we are told to check the Devil’s gap gates and then it is locked as soon as you finish the quest. It is quite a small misty mountainous area in the middle of the North Harvest Countries. The music, the fog and the name (you can’t call something Devil without it being sinister, and no, that is not a challenge) all suggest that it isn’t somewhere where our characters want to be. But I have another theory. Who knows who Evelyn is? Evelyn was the mayor of Jarlaheim but she went to GEDs new mine in the mountains. The only mountains around that area is Devil’s gap. So GED mine in Devil’s gap and someone - Evelyn - has disappeared there. So there is something very bad in there… I really want this set of quests to continue, I want to find out what has happened to Evelyn!
Happy update day! There was a small debate in the club this morning to whether home stables were this week or on the 30th. I wasn’t sure and now I know that the brand new home stables will be coming out on the 30th. I am very excited and Star Stable released a sneak peak but first let’s look at the two main new features, shadows and 12 buckets. I think the shadows are really pretty and I was wondering if they would ever update them! I love the detail such as if you change clothing, the shadow changes also. The 12 buckets are certainly going to help me with the “No stable care” challenge that I want to try. There will of course be 12 because of the 12 horses in the brand new home stables. I am not that excited about these new clothes, but I think the orange and black top will make excellent club uniform for any club that wants to be orange! I also quite like the hat but for the others I either don’t like the colours or the style, fussy me. Newscaster Alva hosted Jorvik news again, this time we saw the brand new home stables. I love them so so much and I am super excited! I am wondering if they will be in a new place because the home stables was opening out onto a different place then the normal home stables opens out, but that could have been just for the demo. Some people have been getting annoyed because SSO hasn’t released home stables this week, but they never promised that they would so chill out and let SSO work on all the amazing things they have planned instead of dealing with hate, thanks.
OH MY GOD! I saw it all over my Instagram and I’m so excited! But where could this be? What is it? Before we start questions, let’s just stick with what we know, so here is the photo: 1. The city has trams as a mode of transport 2. It has many tall buildings 3. There are stands selling newspapers (that’s what the red box is) 4. There is some kind of shop in the centre 5. You cannot see any recognisable landmarks 6. There is a walkway leading to somewhere So we can’t tell for sure where it is but based on the fact that it has so many big buildings, I am leaning towards Jorvik City. Jorvik City will have to be really big, which makes sense as there is a tram that will help us get around the city! Based on the SSL games, Jorvik City has a school, a university, a museum, performances and of course entrance to the mall. In addition, it will have to have plenty of shops of it’s own. Also, I wonder about the stables. In SSL, Jorvik stables was attached to the city, but Jorvik Stables is attached to Jarlaheim now. However, I think there has to be a stables so we’ll wait and see! As for when, I think in either late November or December. Remember, we’ll have the big update of home stables in the next few week so it is unlikely it is this month. Also we have to have story quests so I’m think late November or early December. What do you think? As you may, or may not, know, every year SSO releases a major new area. People have, of course, been wondering about where it will be this year. In about two year they'll have to expand the map, but for now there's two area's ready to be unlocked. The one above Everwind Fields and Golden Hills, and the one to the East of Firgrove. Both have started being built, both have possible routes in and both are on the map. So until now it looked like it could be either one.
But now we see that the area to the East of Firgrove has a name. Firfall. So what do we know about Firfall so far?
Yes, three basic facts but for June that isn't too bad. We normally hear about the new area for the first time about 2 months before it's release, so we'll have a while yet. However, I do hope that it is Firfall as I think it could be an amazing place to have in game! I must admit I saw neither of these things coming up, let alone in the same update. Well, expected or not, they're both on Star Stable! So Valedale has been give a new look. I'm not sure about it, if I'm honest. The new Valedale has a modern look but the old one looked, well, old. Old and full of magic. I thought this gave a really nice effect to the background of Valedale and it made everything, the quests ect, pull together nicely. But I'm glad that SSO kept some of the old feel to it with the new, beautiful, roses. I love the roses so much! I feel like it's nice that each place in game has a flower to represent it. I do like Avalon's house as before it looked like all the other houses and didn't show the magical man behind the walls. I think this gives Avalon more character then just a wise old druid, because you can start to see his style, which is normally hidden under his robe. I feel that Elizabeth's house looks to dark and druidy for the kind women living there. Her dress doesn't match it like it used to, and I do miss that. The new stable and stable area fits in better with the rest of the village, rather then just seeming placed. I also love the new small cottages and I feel that they match the village. Oink, oink. Pigs are coming to Jovik, but for this week only! So hurry! I do love these pigs. My favorite is the spotty one, but I think it is over the top in cost (expect blog post about that soon), so I think I'll by the dark one and call her Pepper. Pepper Pig! I have enough for the pink one but I feel it is too ordenary for my home stable.
I like the fact they've brought out new animals, however, I think that they would be here for more then a week as I know some people wanted to save up for the spotty one and now can't as that'll take more then a week. This is the second time in two weeks they've done this and I think it's to make more updates for the future when the pigs return. What I was really looking for was quests but hey, this will do. Another post to expect (probably over the week end) about what you can do with your pets, as for 199 sc you should be able to do more then have them in a saddle bag. Bye for now! Well it is very nice to have a bridge across the water to South Hoof, let's get building! Hello Bernardine! So you have lots of plans to improve New Hillcrest, sounds good. Yes I agree those houses that you ordered to be built look lovely! A new town slogan? I'll ask what people think. 5/6 think it's a good idea, let's go! What else have you got planned? That would be amazing. Who's running this project? Donald!! Yes I know Donald, one of the cheapest, worse builders in Jovik, I'll go give him a hand. Hi Donald, what's stopping you from building this bridge then? Yeah I do. All you care about is money, go run a shop or something, much safer. Okay let's see the bridge. I can fix that. New boards, pillars and fountains will have the bridge ready soon. But I can only use 3 of each thing a day because of the budget? I can buy some out of my savings (I did the dailys for 3 planks, 3 pillars and 3 buckets of cement and then bought all of them once again). There, that wasn't so hard and a nice new jumper at the end. This was basically the same as when you unlocked the Harvest Counties, but you can see the game has gone forward. You have to do 6 pillars and 6 lots of cement because there are 6 pillars and 6 lots of cement to do. Once you've done a pillar you move onto the next one, rather then just building on the same spot over and over again. The bridge won't be that helpful to me as I was just dropping of the cliff (as I go from South Hoof the New Hillcrest in my training route), but it is a nice touch to the game.
I have tomorrow's post ready and waiting so expect a post on a review of the Welsh Ponys and the new mall tack. Also on Friday, at 6, expect the next part of Kitty's tale. I will also be writing up quests that I still haven't done. They'll be up when they're up. I like summing up the quests like this as it will remind me in the future what happened and it also puts the quests more firmly in my mind. This was a nice little practical update After weeks of doing dailys I'm finally admired by Crescent Moon Village! You get 35 xp on Mondays, 85 on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and 75 on all the other days. I think it is very important that I'm admired with as many things as I can as when new quests come out sometimes you have to be admired with things, and people have left the faction because they see no quests at the end of it. Also I have a very important point, I think to get to the new area you will need to be liked by Ricky's faction. I'm glad that I got myself admired with new Hillcrest fast as now those quests with Ricky get points for the Winterwell and not New Hillcrest. So you see, getting as good a reputation as you can is good!
Well we now know that the area coming out will be called South Hoof Peninsula! They didn't say when it will be released, or how, but they did mention that it would be soon. I really hope it isn't when I'm away! Here is some photos taken from the Star Stable show (you can watch it on Star Stable's youtube). Key points about the new area:
On last weeks Star Stable show, there was a little clip at the end, which I must admit I misted watching the first time through (opps). So not too long ago, SSO told us that they'd be releasing a new area. I wasn't sure where this would be, and presumed it would be Ashlands. But no, it turns out to be the island at the bottom of Epona! I am very excited for this new area and I have a few things that I think it will include... I very much enjoy looking for hidden locations, and here I see that these hidden locations cannot be found in the current Epona. Therefore, I think they must be in the new area. This actually makes sense as it says that Bread Island belongs to the Buttergoods, so their stable might be over there as well. Also, the Buttergoods own the Winterwell stable (I hope we will get it back for Ricky). Maybe once we've unlocked this we'll be about to do our batter over there, and win back the stable! My only worry at the moment, is how will we get over there? The cliffs are steep and there isn't a proper way across the water. I guess SSO will have a way across anyway!
What do you think will be in the new area? Well this is an unexpected update, Silverglade Equestrian center has been given a new look. I'll show you some comparison pictures! I like the way that they've got rid of those big steps at the sides and back of the manor. On the side facing the stable it is simply a wall and at the back there is a mini balcony. It just makes it all seem more realistic. I also liked that instead of three doors leading to the library, there is only one. This I think just gives it a nicer feel. Another thing giving it a nicer feel is the brick house instead of the factory thing. Jovik is certainly a place without factories, and the idea has always been that the islanders live in harmony with nature and it is GED that combats that. It is nice that the designers have bought that into the game and made the Equestrian center look friendlier to nature. However, I wasn't so sure about the new colour of the main buildings. It looks more yellow and actually just looks dirty. Also the front of the house just looks square and boring. I like that it doesn't have the pillars, but surely they could of added that touch of red colour? I'm not too keen on the new things that look like they are holding the wall up. I mean really? But it is nice that sso have updated their graphics a but on things like the bricks. I like the way that they are doing up village and things, but they need to be very careful that they don't lose old Jovik. See more photos below. The final thing of this weeks update was some new denim clothes. I'm not so sure about the tops and dresses, but I quite like the trousers. Not sure why ssso made such a big deal of them though! You can find these in the shops around the fountain at the Equestrian center and in the mall. Once upon a time, if riders couldn't get to clothes, tough. I feel like the mall takes a lot of the newer clothes away from just the higher level players. For example, I bough an outfit made entirely out of new clothes for my level 12 (soon to turn level 13) second account. Surely that should not be possible? So what did we get from this show?
Also there was a little sneak peek at the end of the show. I'll write another post about that!
So Fortuna is continued this week, actually last week they accidentally released the quests, but I'll start from the beginning. Okay so it looks like we've been roped in to helping with another thing, ahaha. Well let's go talk to Julie and see what she thinks. So we blow up 50 balloons and then Julie has just got her nails done so she obviously can't tie the balloons. So I head back to Tan (Julie wants me to say she's helped - cough, cough). And then I end up cleaning boots and saddles for the parade and then I end up helping Tan sewing. Then after everything is ready she mentions that the horses aren't even here yet! So we better go and help Josh. Oh, of course Julie can't tack up the horses by herself, so that's my job, after I've brushed them and picked their hooves. But finally the parade is here! I took some photos of it, but there was a lot of people there. I really liked today's update as it inspired the whole server to come together and do a parade, inspired by the Bobcats. My little grumble is the quests had a lot of drag and drop, but only took me 25 minutes (just under) in the end. Some points today I wished that there would be a function to turn off other players. I wish you could have two options, so you could turn off other players, or just people who aren't in your club/ on your friends list. Think how much easier championships would be, and when you have club events and everyone crowds around you. Oh I wish 😀 So what did we learn from this
Well I think it was a very good update, I also had a very kind reply from my letter to Star stable support
Dear Li, Please accept our apologies for the late reply and thank you for contacting Star Stable support. Thank you very much for your kind words. We are happy to hear that you enjoy our game so much! If you would like to preserve blogs I think you should focus on your blog because it seems like you know a lot about the game! :) And then you can have the best blog with full of useful informations and tips! :) By the way, I would recommend you to read this blog: http://ssoridethrough.com/ Or Stace Place youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnfqKHJuP62nprj-pPUS41Q Hope that helps! :) Kind regards, Emese - Star Stable Support Well I would certain recommend both the blog and the youtube channel. Thanks Emese! Halloo! Thank you so much for over 300 views this week! It is insane, I don't do this for the views, but it is nice to know my voice is heard. I haven't been well again, but I think I am fully recovered now. Yay! So I noticed that a few things have been glitching and I really hope Star Stable fixes it on Wednesday as it is really annoying me that I can't look at club pages/ inspect people, without this happening.. Star stable have recently been giving these forms out on their website. I think that it is great that Star Stable care what the players think. This is a great way to help prioritize what comes up, so hopefully if lots of people vote for new areas, we might have more then one out a year? Ahahaha, that won't happen, I know. But they have increased the amount of story quests coming out. Take the one that will be coming out on Wednesday for example. I can't wait. I hope you get to see GED's office at last. I have been dying to see that and I can't find it anywhere (yes I searched). My fingers are crossed for tomorrow.
At last I have all the stars in the game! Very excited about this, just one less thing on the to do list. Talking about to do lists, I will be making my shopping list page on the blog, so you can see all the things I want to buy, and maybe steal some ideas! Also you will see it is a Valentines day theme at the moment, next I will go for a Spring theme.
Recently I've been getting into bone hunting, indeed just a few more bones on two skeleton then I have 3 dinos! Yay! The Spectatular Dino seems to be hiding from me however! I will find it soon (I hope) It is the fact that there aren't many stones in the valley of the frozen mist, and it is such a large area! Like finding a needle in a hay stack in fact.
Well I missed two months of doing this, opps! Well here it is again, I hope you enjoy what I found amazing this month! Favorite place I love Crescent Moon Village in the snow. The leaves hanging off the weeping willows? I mean it is just so beautiful. I'd love to live somewhere like this. It reminds me of Valedale, the flowers, the house style. But the added Windmill makes it that bit more homely and I like the beautiful rushes in the river! Favorite race I love Marley's Competition. It is quite close (kind of) to real life jumping. Also it is close to my home stable and so I get on this track a lot. Ah, and of course it gives 250 xp. Something one mustn't gloss over! Favorite item of clothing This reminds me so much of the main story quest and of Alex and her horse. I love the colours and just how a like it is! Favorite item of tack I am a fan of the more realistic items in the game. I think that this looks very nice and real. Although it comes in many colours, I prefer the more natural brown. Favorite outfit This outfit, originally made for a photo shoot of the new leg wraps that star stable releesed, I have come to love. I found it looked nicer with the Snowy Saddle pad and a bigger coat. I went with the other outfit (ie a t-shirt) to DIno Valley with Courtney Haybridge. She wasn't impressed so I modified it for her. Hope you like it Court xx! Favorite shop Ah this shop in New Hillcrest is the best! It is just full of realistic tack items that may fit with most outfits. Also most of the things in there have high stats and so are also good for racing.
Ah! It is getting late. I was planning to do a review on the new horses, but I guess that will have to wait until tomorrow, since I plan for it to be a decent length. I decided to move my home stable to the Equestrian Center. I thought it was a better place with more race tracks close by. Also a fast route to Golden Hills and the Harvest countries should I need it. It has everything I could need. A mailbox, a stable, food shop, well. I find it is more open then Steve's farm and it won't lag as much! It will be sad not to be close to the championship and the flag racing anymore though.
