Today SSO bought us two new races. Sadly, due to IRL commitments I’m really behind on my dailies but my darling sister isn’t so she “allowed” me (I don’t think she had any idea about it happening if I’m honest) to go on her account to try out the races. They both took around 1 minute and 15 seconds / 25 seconds roughly to complete without trying full on for a high score, so they’re not particularly short races. The first race, the “Forest Race” included a lot of turning, especially with rocks to act as corners. They were also one case of a really cool jump. The second race was longer with more turning, jumping and was, in my opinion, a bit harder. It also had more of the cool jumps that I mentioned earlier. Compared to the other race, it went a lot further away from the station through the tunnel. Both races were quite nice. They weren’t particularly special but they’re the kind of race that I could get into. I prefer races without funny moving things, which these had. They were your pretty traditional kind of SSO race, which was quite nice to see again in the game. I thought that they were quite decent and there was nothing wrong with them. They were reasonably enjoyable to do with a bit of challenge (particularly when you’re taking photos and racing), but not too much challenge so I could actually complete them. The only real bad thing I’d say about this update was it doesn’t look like we’ll get to go on Santa’s sleigh this year, which is a bit of a shame because I always enjoyed that.

A few months back (yes, I’ve had this waiting to be blogged about for months) I was doing a quest on a friends alt account and I saw this: It got me thinking, wouldn’t it be so cool to have that race back again? If it was between Moorland and New Hillcrest, it could be to two teams against each other. Ever since SSO announced that they were releasing another racing team I have wanted two things: first, to be able to get a uniform top for the New Hillcrest team and second for there to be a quest where they race against the Bobcats. As the game has progressed so much, the race could be really cool with loads of RL style jumps. What would you want from this new course if I ever happened?
!**All photos in this post have been taken from the SSO website**! It’s a frequently asked question, which is the best horse in game? Well, I’m hopefully going to help answer that question. Firstly, according to stats, all horses have the same speed. There’s a lot of speculation about this, but for now we’ll go with this being true. So I’ll be looking at the jumping and turning ability of the horses. Jumping from the strength stat and turning from the agility and discipline stat. I’ll also choose the horse with the best jumping while having the best turning. However, I think it’s a lot more important to be able to turn in races with exceptions of certain races such as New Hillcrest where you have to jump over the water. The best jumping horses are the North Swedish horses and the Shires, both with 5 in endurance. For turning the best horses are the Akhal-Teke, Arabian, English Thougherbread, Hanoverian, Stella Francais all with 3 in agility and 2 in discipline. The horse with the best in both is a Haflinger with 4 in strength, 2 in agility and 2 in discipline. I think that that means when choosing your horse for a race, think “in the race do I need to jump a long way” such as over water. Most of the time you don’t. If you need hight, the stat, in my opinion, doesn’t help much, you just need to jump in the right place. If you need to jump a long way, use a Haflinger. But the rest of the time, use an Akhal-Teke, Arabian, English Thougherbread, Hanoverian or a Stella Francais!
Hello there. So, today’s update was a Hanoverian race. A lot of people are quite annoyed about it as they do not own a hano (lI’m laughing so hard because it just auto corrected hano to hand) so they cannot do it. However, as long as in the future there are races for horse breeds that I do have, I think it’s quite cool. Yes, it’s not my horse breed this week but in the future I’m sure there will be a really nice race for my horse. You can get 10XP just from talking to the dude at Silverglade Arena so you might as well go ahead and do it. The actual race gives you 350XP and looks quite cool. Just like in the open house race, there are cross jumps as well as water jumps - which look amazing! Little tip, if you own a hano and you’re training another horse then do the race on the hano and collect it with the horse you are training. I would really like water jumps in the game permanently, not just when you’re racing (my hopes for the new area this year). I think it’s been an ok update actually. I didn’t expect anything that big after Pandoria just two weeks ago. It’s quite a nice idea and if it was a breed that I had, and liked, I’d love it but, I don’t, so for now it’s not my cup of tea. But, if they make a Lipizzaner dressage race then I’ll be so happy.
What did you think? This is sad. I was training on an alt and I came 0th. I wish I could have an actual placing. I don’t just mean in the top 20. I think that we should be able to see where we are out of all the players in the server that have done that race. So you could be told you placed 103rd or something. I understand listing all of the players would be hard so if you get under 20th then it just says your place instead of saying zero if you get me? I’m not phrasing this very well haha. It would give lower level players something to aim for because they could aim for being in the top 50 rather than being in the top 20. They can’t get in the top 20 as they’re not fast enough but it would keep them interested in racing which I think is a really good thing. It would also be interesting to see how you were doing compared to the whole server!
At some point, SSO said that they'd be making specialized races and it's really nice. I hope very much that it happens with other breeds as well. So, what was my point of view on the race. It was a bit weird to be honest, especially as I have a few glitches with tölt which made the race harder. It wasn't as hard as people had been telling me though, so that was ok. I didn't like it that much but it wasn't awful. I've seen worse races but I've seen a lot better (my all time favourite remains the Silverglade Equestrian centre ones - still unbeaten). What did you think of the new race?
I know, I know, another "A day in the life" but I enjoy doing these posts and apparently people enjoy reading them, so it's staying. My morning started with a few weird dreams, eating breakfast and logging onto my account to add someone back to FR (someone logged onto their account and left the club for them). Then I logged onto the account that I quest on for a friend and did some quests and races. I then logged onto my own account to do some chores. I love doing chores as they are quick but give you a lot of Jorvik Shillings. Next, I decided to join FR in a secret place that the Frosties call "Newb Hideout" (you have to climb and then go through a pile of rocks and drop off a cliff to get there). I decided to try a bit of exploring and find somewhere new to climb. In the end I found a place on the edge of the Cauldron. It wasn't much of a climb but there were so many places I've never seen before plus a great view. Recently, I've been using one of my older alts to high score and do championships. It's easier than with my main as people aren't constantly going "Well done Li" really patronizingly at champs when I came 10th and I'm not ignoring club chat when I'm high scoring. So i did Valedale today. I still don't know the shortcuts but I somehow came third! (I blurred the names so I can keep my account private.) It was time for a good old classic "Li is ultra late for her own event) move as I ran to get to SF in time for my event. I made it though! In my event, people had 15 tasks around the island to complete like "doing New Hillcrest race" and things like that. The last task was to climb up to above Guardian's Dale and here are the squad who made it to the end - notice the before and after. Finally, I called for a pick up and chilled on the hay bale plus added a new member. Awesome day and good night! (Pssst, fan fiction tomorrow.)
How are you getting on with the Valentines Day race? I did a load of races today with the amazing Lilah Applewood, Ruby Riverbell, Louisa Bluepie, Sara Windstar and Alice Southyard. I collected so many hearts and got nothing in return until the very last trade where I got the tail ribbon that the community has been obsessing over! I now have both the ribbons and the glasses. Tomorrow I might try to get a bridle but I don’t know if I can be bothered. The race is too much in my opinion. It’s just too hard to get rewards. I was racing for 1 and a half hours for one ribbon - I mean come on. My suggestions are:
- The race is shorter - It’s easier to get a prize - You only need to swap one heart Oh well, I have the things I wanted to get and I wasn’t overly keen with the other stuff. I have found all of the letters apart from the elusive one at Cape West - I swear I’ve searched everywhere. Does anyone know if it gets you anything actually worth while? So it's here, another flow chart. This time the question: the best championship for you. I got Valedale which is interesting because I rarely race and it is one that I enjoy more than the others. But I do l like Moorland, I just don't like how busy it gets. So have a bit of fun and try the chart!
It’s the last day of 2016! I look back on this year and I can still think of New Year’s Eve last year. I haven’t changed, have I? I haven’t done anything, have I? I haven’t got better, have I? I wanted to make a list of all of my Star Stable achievements this year with the odd real life one!
1. Becoming a leader in FR 2. Blogging for a year 3. Winning a championship 4. Getting a high score of the day 5. Becoming owner of FR 6. Keeping FR going 7. Getting 200 readers on my blog a week 8. Getting 1750 views on my blog in a week 9. Getting my kayaking 2 star award 10. More active Instagram 11. More active blog 12. Skyping Star Stable members and talking 13. Winning Youth Speaks 14. Learnt to love myself as much as I love others Wooh! These are only the big things, many smaller things have happened as well. So it’s time for 5 goals in the new year. 1. Post daily on Instagram 2. Upload a video twice a week on YouTube 3. Enter more championships 4. Every member of FR is active 5. Be myself more Yay! I wish you all a Happy New Year. What are your achievements and goals? Today I tried to get back into high scoring. I started by finding some race tack, I was very puppy with it besides… I couldn’t find my proper horse shoes. I looked and looked but ended up putting with with an Aideen’s Runner.
I then only high scored on one race, Jasper’s backwards. I came second of the day, which I was happy of as I didn’t have max stats. I still remembered all of the short cuts and I just love the feeling of racing. However, I got very annoyed when I looked at the high scores and saw scores of 57/58 seconds compared to my 1:03. I feel that anything faster than 1 minute has been acquired by cheating. It annoyed me because how can I race without cheating when everyone else cheats? It isn’t fair. Then I decided to make a collection of all my high scores here, on the blog. I can strive to beat my own times rather then beating a time that someone has cheated to get. So here are my high scores. I only have one at the moment but hopefully that will change! Golden Hills 1:03:10 Jasper’s, the other way around 22/12/18 (not maxed stats) Harvest Countries Silverglade We’re headed into the depths of Autumn and the nights are shorter then the days. Some trees are bare and others have bold patches. The first frost has been as we say good bye to the final days of warm… And hello cold. I think you can just tell by the fact that in my blog banner I am wearing this that it’s my favourite item of clothing this month. I love the way that it looks Autumnal and warm without breeching the barrier of being for winter. Therefore, it is perfect for this time of the year. I also like any item of clothing that has multiple parts. Eg, a jacket with a shirt and a scarf underneath, breeches with socks or in this case a base layer with a body warmer. I just think in these seasons it adds an extra feeling of coziness. I was pleasantly surprised when this little cute pumpkin hopped from either the ghost or the apple bobbing (I can’t remember which). I think that it is really cute and it different from the normal spider or Halloween ribbon. Aw just look at it’s cute little face! If you are ever looking around for me, the best chance you have of finding me is at the Vineyard. I can never stay still in game! When the rest of FR are standing at Steve’s I’m running around the vines. This stops me making a fool of myself where everyone is watching! I like to do ‘vine bending’. Which is where you use the vines as poles and I like to jump over the fences, all while chatting to my club. Also the lag isn’t nearly as bad at the Equestrian Centre as it is at Steve’s. Finally, there aren’t as many people there which is good because whenever I do go to Steve’s I get “Li Li” -Friend invite- -Group invite- “Hello Li” and it is just too much! I think this has been the most frustrating quests ever, the birthday quizzes. I, actually, quite enjoyed the idea of doing a quiz for the part of the birthday outfit. I liked the mix in questions as well, as it was everything from horses, history of Jorvik, and even Mrs Holdsworth old job. However, there weren’t any proper new quests this month, which is quite sad as my favourite thing in game is new quests. But, it is a common theory that the new area and new story quests might be one of the same… Pandoria… I love Halloween. I don’t actually celebrate it in real life, so it is always lots of fun to get into the Halloween spirit in game. I love the colours, tastes, smells and the mystery. This has been the best Halloween year as last year they added a lot of the things after Halloween. But this year we got the apples, ghost train, quests, outfits, ghosts and Spider pig (all I can say is going into the dressage arena at the riding hall and look up). I am still in love with my Lipi from last month, so it is only right that she gets mentioned again! I just love the body shape, the colours and the animations of this horse. They are so smooth and graceful and they have even started to make me enjoy riding larger horses as compared to the similar sized English Thoroughbred, they are less ‘jolty’. I hope that Star Stable releases similar horses in the future. Since I have a brand new account to quest on, I have been doing the Moorland Pole bending a lot. I love Western riding and I think it should be used more in the game. I really like the race as I’m lazy and it is short but gives you 125 xp. Also it is more about control and less about the actual speed, which I also really like. Finally, it is in Moorland and if often overlooked by the normal pro racers so novices like me get a chance!
Can we just take a moment to look at these scores from the Bobcat Girls race. Can you really do that race in 16 seconds? Really? This is clearly the speed glitch again, and it isn’t fair. I used to enjoy racing on Star Stable, but if I can’t ever even hope of getting on the high score list without cheating, then why would I? You are breaking the Terms and Conditions of Star Stable when you cheat, use a bug or glitch and that is illegal. You could be banned from the game. But you are ruining the game experience for others, and honestly that isn’t fair. So many people cannot race anymore as their high scores are nothing compared to the high scores of people who cheat. Star Stable have been wonderful and have reset the score boards I think twice now. However, that means that we all have to run around getting our high scores again. Once again, that isn’t fair. If you see someone who is cheating then you need to report them. In this it is important to remember that not everyone cheats. There are many people who are talented gamers and get very good times without breaking the Ts & Cs. Not everyone who places first cheats and it is important to remember that. The worst thing you can do is confront them and cause drama over something that isn’t necessary! I am sorry that this is so negative but it is something that is on my nerves and writing a long rant like this is the best way to release my feelings.
Over and out. Good evening, I am here doing my late night blogging special once again! Today I thought I would show you my Autumn racing gear. I don’t often high score so when I do I don’t want to have to run to my home stable and rummage until I dig out some clothes with nice stats. So I often ride around in outfits that have full stats and on of them is my Autumn racing outfit which I wanted to share.
Total cost: 141 star coins
I really enjoy sharing things like this and I also want to do more “this is my day” type posts. I think I will do that about once a week, but it will depend on when I’ve had an interesting day. Also don’t expect the normal fanfic tomorrow as the best way to celebrate Halloween is with a spooky story, right? Many people look at the different stat categories on their racing tack and just think ‘as long as speed and riding are high we’re good’. Well, actually no. In racing there are many things that will make your racing better and you need to think about including as many as possible into your race outfit.
These are listed in my opinion of how important they are: Horse Swiftness - how fast the horse goes. Discipline - how quickly the horse responds to commands (change gait ect). Agility - how fast the horse changes direction. Strength - how high and fast the horse can jump. Endurance - how much damage the horse can take (the green bar). Character Riding - how fast you ride and how quickly the horse changes direction. Command - makes it quicker to change gait. Jumping - how high and fast the horse can jump. Caring - how long it is before the care symbols come up again. The order of how important they are varies from race to race. For example, in New Hillcrest race, there is a jump that requires you to jump a long way if you don’t want to swim. Therefore, having good strength and jumping is better for that race then having good agility. You need to go through the track and ask yourself some questions and if they answer is yes then the stat you need to change is in the brackets. Would I do better if I could turn really tight? (agility, riding) Am I starting the race at a canter? (command, discipline) Am I under jumping lots of jumps? (jumping, strength) Are there close together jumps that I need to slow down for? (jumping, strength) There are of course many more. I hope you liked this post and have a nice day! Thank you to Ava Northstar for helping me with this. I've been waiting a long time for this to come back! It's been bugging me as I didn't get admired with them last time they were here, but I can try this time. Due to some technical issues there will be a few blog posts uploaded a bit later then normal, sorry. But anyway let's go down to the beach! As normal there is so many people that I can hardly click to start the quests. I could do all those things, but I'm ready and waiting for the beach party! I'll tell you what, I'll put out some towels, take in the clean ones and fold them. Is that better? Umm that sounds... nice? Well I'll give it a try... I guess... That was horrible, but how to tell him? Best to head to the guard and collect some building stuff before he notices. There we are! Okay that one isn't as bad, but that isn't saying much. I think I should make one with soda and fruit. I'll wash and cut the fruit before shaking it with ice and soda, there, done! Okay we better start getting some money, I know, selling beach balls. Remember not all the tourists want a beach ball. The one by the rose covered seats, lower store hut and upper store hut near the championships all want one. Finally thing to do is the race. Remember this will go soon so get your reputation while you can!
So this here is my training route. I’ve recently finished training so I have no need for it but here is my route. It takes me about two hours to do but I do it in blocks.
First I start at the Equestrian Centre and then I go Marleys, Steves, Moorland, Fort Pinta, South Hoof, Epona, Greendale, Jarlaheim, Paddock Island, Jorvik Stable. I then have a rest before doing Firgrove, Valedale, Mill, Observatory, and Equestrian Centre. Finally I do the Riding Hall and Golden Hills Valley. I’ve found that doing it in blocks makes it easier as it seems a lot more manageable. On a hard day I might stop at South Hoof but not often. It takes 5 days to train a horse to level 15 if you follow that route (or do every race). But what do I wear? Well I’ve gone for an outfit that has good Swiftness and Riding but is also a nice thing to wear everyday. As through the training periods I will wear that and only that throughout the day. Rider: Tourist T-Shirt - From a quest - Free - Plus 8 riding, 1 jump, 4 command Marleys's Helmet - From a quest - free - riding 4, jump 3 Any gloves with 4 in riding (I change every time) Black jeans - Silverglade Village “The Castle” - 96 Star Coins - riding 5, jump 1 (These are the only pants in the game with riding 5) Dancing Shoes - Silverglade Equestrian Centre “The Wine Cellar” - 13 Star Coins - Riding 4, Jump 4 Horse: Black Sports Saddle - Jorvik Mall - 67 Star Coins - 3 speed, 2 agility Green Winter Bridle - From a quest - Free - 3 speed Large Snow blanket - Fort Pinta Gear - 73 Star Coins - 3 speed, 1 discipline Horse shoes from Golden Hills Valley opening quest The key to good fun training is well, making it fun. I like to set myself challenges, train with friends or listen to music. All of these help training become more enjoyable. Of course, you can always just bribe your sister with sweets. Either way works! At last. I did Moorland twice today. The first time I messed out where you go around the corner. I fell off too early. The second time I just had this thought "I'm going to win this". I raced forward but as I turned up the slope at the start, I was over taken! Oh no, but I kept going. Now 5th. After my jump over the cliff I hit 4th. I swerved the wooden haystacky things and 2nd! No 3rd! As I jumped over the second cliffy thing I hit 1st. I kept going, I ignored everyone talking in the real world. I was racing for the finish. I was so close, I just had to make it and.. I will be of course changing my goals. Click here to view them.
Well I missed two months of doing this, opps! Well here it is again, I hope you enjoy what I found amazing this month! Favorite place I love Crescent Moon Village in the snow. The leaves hanging off the weeping willows? I mean it is just so beautiful. I'd love to live somewhere like this. It reminds me of Valedale, the flowers, the house style. But the added Windmill makes it that bit more homely and I like the beautiful rushes in the river! Favorite race I love Marley's Competition. It is quite close (kind of) to real life jumping. Also it is close to my home stable and so I get on this track a lot. Ah, and of course it gives 250 xp. Something one mustn't gloss over! Favorite item of clothing This reminds me so much of the main story quest and of Alex and her horse. I love the colours and just how a like it is! Favorite item of tack I am a fan of the more realistic items in the game. I think that this looks very nice and real. Although it comes in many colours, I prefer the more natural brown. Favorite outfit This outfit, originally made for a photo shoot of the new leg wraps that star stable releesed, I have come to love. I found it looked nicer with the Snowy Saddle pad and a bigger coat. I went with the other outfit (ie a t-shirt) to DIno Valley with Courtney Haybridge. She wasn't impressed so I modified it for her. Hope you like it Court xx! Favorite shop Ah this shop in New Hillcrest is the best! It is just full of realistic tack items that may fit with most outfits. Also most of the things in there have high stats and so are also good for racing.
I have been trying to get a high score in a race. If you've looked at the "about me" page. You will of seen that one of my Star Stable goals is to get a high score of the day in a race. No more, when I logged on, I had a surprise!
