Pitter-patter. Pitter-patter. The rain streamed down my window. Flash! One, two, three, four, five.. Boom! The storm was quite close but not on top of us. I pulled on my normal jeans, top and hoodie. But I grabbed my raincoat before heading downstairs.
Breakfast was normal. We had granola -homemade by Mrs Syth -, yogurt and wild strawberries. I pulled on my raincoat and headed out into the bucketing rain. Abbie was at the stable, sheltering in the tack room. “Hey” “Hiya” “Nice day right” “Aha yes” I grinned back at Abbie. We mounted up on our horses, hands frozen to the bridle. It was only 3 minutes before Lucy said “lessons cancelled”. I headed back to the house. People on Jovik have Wednesdays of school so they can do their homework and ride. Therefore the kids were home and not doing homework. Millie and James were on their J-Phone and Alice was playing with her figure soul riders. “Shame that the lesson was cancelled,” James called. “You could come to Silverglade with us in a few minutes and ride there?” suggested Millie. “Ermm..okay?” Half an hour later and I was standing at Silverglade Riding Hall again. Only this time I was here to ride. The advanced groups were jumping (these were international level riders) so we went into the dressage arena. Our instructor Tyra set up a small jump for me and a 4 foot one for James and Millie. It was kind of embrassing having people your age and younger being better then you. I enjoyed the lesson with a different instructor and I couldn’t wait to get back to New Hillcrest and tell Abbie all about it. Mrs Syth was getting back into the car with James but Millie asked: “Can Ava stay and I can give her a tour of the Centre, and we can have lunch at the cafe and then walk to the village and do some shopping” “Well.. If you pick my order from the tailor and my cheese from Will. It costs an extra 300 shillings to have it delivered. I suppose all you want is to see the circus?” Mrs Syth said, raising her eye brows. “Err… Well yes but I can show Ava this part of the island?” “Okay okay,” Mrs Syth relented “Here is 6000 shillings for the both of you”. The Equestrian Centre was packed with the children from Silverglade Village. Millie explained that most children rode 2/3 times a week and most would help out in the stable on the same number of nights. Most people here will work in the riding profession in the end so they need to get good at it! After the tour of the stables, we hit the shops. First we headed to the tailor and then to Will, the cheese seller. We looked around all the little shops and in the end I decided to buy a big chocolate bar and a bade with the Jovik flag on. Millie decided to buy some hair ribbons and a bag of candy. We both got some candy floss for the circus. The circus was amazing! I really enjoyed all the acts (mostly involving horses, surprise, surprise) and it was all over too soon. Mr Syth picked us up on the way hone from work and back to the house we went. “Enjoy the circus Ava?” “Yes very much thanks” “Good good” The rest of the time Mr Syth and Millie were chatting about moving Millie to Jovik Stable or Silverglade Equestrian centre. Back at the house Mrs Syth cooked a lovely red peppers stuffed with the cheese from Silverglade. “We get the groceries from Epona because it’s so warm. We’re lucky because we live here so we get fresh fruit that hasn’t traveled. The North Harvest countries and Silverglade give all the wheel to Crescent Moon Village where it is ground up and sent to New Hillcrest and Silverglade Village to be made into bread. The sheep up and around Silverglade produce wool for the only tailor in Jovik and most areas have a cow somewhere, same with hens. Other things like Jor-Cola we get from Jovik City” Mrs Syth explained. After the peppers we had a lovely carrot cake. I went upstairs and brushed my teeth, washed my face, used the necessaries, changed into my pjs and fell into bed. Only 3 nights left.
