I do believe that it's good to teach people about what the game is really about - horses. I think that this is a lovely little project, although maybe not something that I am personally interested in.

Today I popped onto YouTube to watch a video from the amazing HarmonyNice. However, in my suggestions box came up a video from Star Stable. I opened it up and had a watch of it and decided to write about what I saw, here is the video:
So this is something quite different to what Star Stable have done before. They are going to be going around looking at different uses for horses/ why people love them. Honestly, it's great to see that interacting with the idea of real horses, rather than magical pixel ones on a game. I probably will not watch the series, as I find their videos for childish (although I understand they are aimed at younger children, so I am not criticising them for that).

Tired Li (yes I did just talk about myself in third person) is off to bed. I actually have all of the photos for a post but right now, sleep sounds amazing and I need it. See you tomorrow!
So why am I not finding the Valentine's day letters this year? Well, to be honest, it's a lot of work and you get nothing more than a few Jorvik Shillings and things like picnics and BBQS - so why would I want to? I wish there were actual prizes to be won! Just a little thought before I head off to bed - g'night.
As a night owl, I often take photos late in the evening and the lighting on SSO is awful. I don't like posting them unedited anywhere because they just look bad so here is a little guide to editing them on Weebly! It's very simple and short but I hope it will be helpful. Here was the before picture:
Ok, now open the Weebly editor (you can find this once you have uploaded a photo to the website). Follow these steps:
And here is the finished product:
It's still better to take photos in the daytime but this way means that late owls, like me, can still have nice photos to upload online. I hope this is useful for anyone who was unsure on how to do it - good night!
Massive update from SSO today so give me a second to get into it! The main two parts of the update was the Valentine's Day celebrating coming as well as a brand new cosplay shop. So, without further ado, let's go and look at the cosplay shop first. It is found in the mall and when you walk inside, you get the best sight ever!
For looks, it's officially my favourite shop. I always love the idea of different worlds, so the details of the comics just make Jorvik all the more real to me. It's also great that SSO are embracing different types of people, including people who cosplay. I was talking about this not long ago and I still think that it's a great thing. Although the shop and certainly won a prize for looks, more importantly let's look a the clothes and tack that they sell! (Click on the photo to see my opinions about it.)
Of course, it was also the Valentine's update. Recently, they've been making the Valentines day shops so much more interesting so I was very interested to look at it and I think that it looks beautiful.
Here are the clothes in the shop (I'll pick out my favourites to talk about at the end):
Firstly, as anyone in FR will know, I love like Canter Ella Valentine's jacket (and haven't changed out of it yet). It's just like the normal one but I prefer the colouring so I was really happy with buying it. Valentines day is certainly a very very expensive, but there's some quite nice clothing compared to other festivals. I'm glad to see them bringing back old things as well as some (more stylish) newer clothes. I really like the saddle pad in the top left of the photo to the top right and I love the cheap flowers that were being sold - great value.
As for quests, I'm sad to say that they've taken away two old favourites of mine: the quest to get your own teddy bear and the quest to make the perfect Valentine's cake. I know that they could sometimes be boring but they were part of the festival and I will actually miss them.
They brought back an old favourite from last year though, the Valentine's race.
Luckily, they've changed the system from last time. So previously, you had to get three hearts before exchanging them for an item. The item would be random so it might be a new part of the Valentine's set, a part of the Valentine's set you already had or just something like a hay bale. Basically, it was very difficult and time consuming to collect the set. Luckily, this year it is not random what you get and you only need to swap one heart for each item. This, I think, is a lot better and a lot easier for everyone. I have not collected the whole set (due to SSO consistently throwing all iMac users off the game at once) but I do have most of it:
Weirdly, instead of reminding me of Valentine's day, it reminds me of Alice in Wonderland. I'm actually a little bit disappointed after the clothes last time was so beauty and wearable and then this time they look slightly terrifying. Before I go, I hope that everyone had a great Valentine's day and here was my annual Valentine's outfit:
The title of this post says it all - forgotten quest lines. I feel that there's two main quest lines in game, in Epona, which have been abandoned. This is really sad because I loved both quest lines very much and would love to continue them. So here they are, the quests which I hope will be added to this year:
GED! Herman is still held captive by them. It was almost exactly this time last year that we got these quests (so maybe we'll have some more coming soon?). We still have to go inside GED's office and there's a whole mini area behind the wall here. These quests have always been great quality with a thrilling quest line, so I'm super excited to see what is coming in the future.
Ah, Ricky! For the animations, the best quests out there - a whole martial arts. The last quests were amazing, with a ring constructed in the arena. Next, Ricky is battling Ivan Drake - something that will surely be very exciting. Also, at some point in the quest line will come the Winterwell stables, which was actually on our areas to be discovered for a time. I think that this could be so exciting to continue because previously the quests were amazing and they will only be even more amazing in the future! I hope SSO didn't back out of these quests because of the amount of work that will have to go into them.
What quest lines do you want to be continued?
During the Mistfall quests, we met this character:
When I first saw her, I was quite surprised. Compare this character to some of the characters that we meet at the start of the game. She is so much more dynamic and interesting. She seems so much more real and actually has a personality and fashion sense (although it might not be one we all agree with). There's a person behind those glasses, a story line that we can pick out and write. Maybe I'm just noticing all of this as a writing, but it's so much different than when you talk to Jenna who is so flat. I think that it's great that SSO have started to add more real characters so not only does it make the game more interesting, it allows younger children to be less narrow minded. Cough, maybe it's time for someone from the LGBT+ community to be included somewhere in game? I think so!
What are your thoughts?
Not too long ago, I wrote about a very strange experience where I was in Mistfall, doing dailies, when I got transported to the observatory. Well, today a similar thing happened. I was in Pandoria, doing an event with FR, when this screen turned up as I jumped up a rock:
Really strange right? Considering I was in Pandoria. Then things got stranger.
This is pretty much the same thing as what happened last time, except that this time, the door is black. Super strange... So I decided to go outside, and this is what I saw:
I know some people purposely do glitches to make this happen, but I don't agree with glitching on purpose (it makes me feel very sorry for the team because you are basically poking holes in someone's code). It was actually quite fun to mess around for a bit in but it is very strange. I'm not sure how I triggered it but I'd like to remind people to not try and get this on purpose. So, until then, have a final photo!
Today we were able to welcome the re-model of the North Swedish horses (more commonly know as the NSH)! Being the first horse that I bought, the NSH has always had a very close place in my heart. They aren't my favourite breed, but I still do really like them. But, as people who read Monday's post will know, I was very excited and hopeful for this update, so let's go and take a look:
This one feels like a remake of my old NSH (you can see a photo on the end). Despite the fact that I think the colours work great, the mane is detailed and the leg colouring is great. The think that the shape on the blaze is really cute, but I think it lacks texture. As much as most of the horse is better in texture than more recent horses, the face still has a bit of work. This was my least favourite but I really liked them all so it's not saying much.
Let's just take a second to appreciate the colour of the mane... It's so beautiful! The nose is also really lovely and I'm glad to see a bit more texture on the face (although it's not quite there it, it has the most out of all of the horses). I decided not to buy this one because personally I don't like how 'samey' it is, however I know some people really like the 'samey-ness' of it! So I think this one really is personal prefence
This was the beauty I took home. Despite the awful lack of texture on the face (it looks awful, I swear) the coat won it for me - the dots are beautiful! I think that the mane and featherings matched perfectly and I loved the start on his head. All of these features outshone the awful face so he came home!
Despite originally wanting to go for the black (because of the super cute mane), I decided to take the lovely brown home with me. Even though the face is very pasticy, the coat is amazingly detailed, she had the beautiful mane the same as the black and I just wanted her in my stable. So I've left her to settle in and she got to meet my other North Swedish Horse (who does feel a bit jealous but is glad I didn't get the palo).
Look at the difference! Size, shape - everything. The featuring is much more realistic and so is the texture of the coats. The texture is amazingly detailed and I just love it. Honestly, I'm so happy with this remake in general (just not the palo) and I think that SSO have done a really good job. There is still work to be done on the faces, but the rest of the body is amzing. I hope that horses are starting to improve again. Well, I can hope anyway.
What did you think of the new horses?
A couple of days ago, when browsing the #equestrian on Instagram, I came across this brand new game - Equestrian. It isn't released yet but it will be some time this year and it looks amazing! It will be on phone and iPad so I thought I'd just take this opportunity to share it with you. All photos in this post are taken from Equestrian website which you can find here.
They're a very small team, just three people, working on this large project. The aim of the game is to be a realistic equestrian game with things like dressage and jumping. Players will be able to manage their own stable, breed horses, train horses and take part in competitions - so it's up to you!
It's a work in progress but in 2019 they hope to have it released on a PC and are possibility looking at riding clubs (the feature I'm most excited for). Honestly, there's so much potential with this game that they could add in. I really hope that they make it 3D with multi-player features and riding clubs as well as lots of cool horse features (of course). I really think their website is well worth a read so here it is again.
Does this game look like something you're interested in?
It's been something that lots of players have been hinting at for some time - new North Swedish horses. I feel quite a connection with these horses as it was the first horse that I ever bought in game. As many readers will know, I am not known for liking remakes so I was a bit skeptical about watching the video. But I did and this was one of the first things I saw:
Instantly, I was happy (after a very tiring day). This horse is beautiful! I love the pattern on the coat, size, colour of the mane... JUST EVERYTHING! It's honestly so beautiful, I just really love it. It fits in perfectly with Mistfall.
This was the second horse (I am guessing there will be three horses in game, but SSO only normally release two on the trailer). I didn't like this one as much as the black one because I think that his eyes look a bit funny. But the coat is absolutely beautiful. I love the speckled brown on it!
Have you noticed that there seems to be a new mane and tail style coming with the horses? I'm not sure that I like it but it's always nice to have some new variation.
See, from this angle the brown one is really sweet but I still prefer the black. They are not as cartoony as previous horses and I just really like them. They are sweet, fluffy and I just want to give them a hug. I don't know if I'll get one because of my "no horses until previous ones are trained" rule, but I'm very tempted! I think I'll look at the price and balance it out from there. I can't wait to see them in game and I hope that they will look as good as they do here!
Which is your favourite?
As promised, here is a little blog through of the new quests. I think it goes without saying, spoilers will be appearing so just watch out!
Well, Skoll isn't exactly a Trump, but I agree he isn't the best councilman. I say, let's go and talk to him!
Ha. Ha. Ha. I only defend Dundull for XP anyway...
Yes. See, we'll even get some signatures so that she can be entered!
Sure, I'll join your- I mean, no I won't! Not even for 1000000 sc. Ok, where is Ms. Finicker?
Slightly confused about why you just told us that when it is going to help us take you down, but sure, I'll race right there to talk to her.
Awesome! Now we just need to tell Sigry...
Well, I'd be pretty annoyed if you decided not to do it! Ok, let's sort out a speech.
Brilliant! Everyone will love you. Oh, what's that, you're a little tired? I'll collect some ginger, berries and water to make a nice tea. All done!
Hm, speak for yourself!
And that's where the quests left us. I thought that it was nice that SSO did some political stuff and that now there will be a female councilwoman. The quests were quite short and nothing that special, but they were still really nice to play through, especially as this is a quest line that can be developed quite a bit more. I'm very interested to see the ballot day, I hope that it will be really cool and include lots of awesome animations. Overall, just a nice simply little quest line.
What did you think of the quests?
Hello! It's literally one minute past midnight so this is counting as being posted on the 2nd, it just says the 3rd! Sorry about no post yesterday, I had an assignment due the next day and ended up in a bit of a panic. I am super tired and writing this while every light on my street has been turned off (besides mine) and I'm downstairs with a blanket and some hot chocolate heating. Basically, I haven't got energy to go through all of the quests right now BUT I will do that tomorrow (since I love to have a record of quests, I just am not so keen on actually making those posts). Right now, I'm going to talk about the Wednesday update.
So first was, of course, quests. I'll go into more detail on those when I make the post on them tomorrow (aka later today) but I thought that although there wasn't anything "wow" about them, it was nice to continue the story line in Mistfall and get to do more with the characters.
Another part of the update, was new short keys. I'm really happy about this because I can now open and close my interface on the move without needed to stop (especially useful in club events). I think that for lazy people (like myself) these keys are really useful and it's just a great little addition. I tested them all out and they all worked perfectly. SSO also added a short key menu thing:
The final part of the update was new horses in the stables around Jorvik. Before, we had (pretty much) the same horses in all of the stables around the game. Now, each stable has a different breed(s) of horses. I think that this is great as it helps to give each stable some character and it also, there isn't just one breed of horse that everyone uses on Jorvik so there should be different at the stables. it also means that the horses at the stables are now of a good quality as they were made for other uses. Here are the ones at Steve's Farm and the Equestrian Center:
Just a little update tonight that I think came with some quite handy features. However, I have an external exam tomorrow and I promised myself I'd get to bed before 11 so that I can do my best. I've just finished playing through the quests and they were great - I hope to write about them tomorrow along with the other two many features of the update. I hope everyone has / has had an amazing day. The update involved more than I thought it would and was a pleasant surprised. Good night!
I was looking through some of the posts that I have written about Mistfall today and was quite shocked: I have never done a review of the foxes. It’s shocking because of the amount of time that I spend teasing my friends about their own ‘oversized orange rats’ so it’s about time I spoke on here about these little devils.
When I tried the fox out on my sisters account, I found that it was quite similar to the running squirrel that we got (for free). It could stand on some stuff but mostly glitched through objects. It would move it’s head and chase its tail when you were stationary. Quite a sweet little beast, but I think that the price was too much. 450 sc for a running pet? That’s 100sc more than a horse (which is worth a lot more). I think it was over priced by miles. Personally, more than 150sc for a pet is a little bit ridiculous. Think of all of the different things you could have got instead. I like the fox but bearing in mind it’s still very glitchy, I hate the price.
Wouldn’t it be so cool if, on SSO, you could just sit down with a friend, pet or horse. Forget about needing a picnic, BBQ or chair, you could just sit on the floor (where it was flat) in a couple of positions of you choosing - some with horses and some without. E.g. sitting cross legged, stretched out, lying down, leaning against your horse. The options are endless. I started thinking about this when seeing these photos on the SSO website:
But honestly, wouldn’t this make such a great little addition to the game? It would be great for club events (musical bumps) as well as being great for general Instagram photos and hanging out with friends. Wouldn't you love to lean against you horse like in the photo? I really think that this would be a great thing to add to SSO!
Thinking about owning? Well here are some pros and cons from my experience as an owner. I've done five of each but I would just like to say, in my case, the positives outweigh the negatives 100 times. I have owned FR for over a year and loved doing it and will continue loving it for many years to come! There are things that I wish didn't happen but, once again, I love owning and I think that if you're someone who has the time, compassion, skills and motivation then go ahead! Cons first because I want to leave it on a good note.
Hi there! A very long awaited update today, we can get to Pandoria at will! Also, we can go there with our friends which I'm really excited about (club events here we come). It was frustrating before so I am just so excited that SSO have listened to player's feedback and opened Pandoria for everyone all the time. You may only enter it on your starter horse. Each day, the portal will appear in a different part of Jorvik (I'm sure there will be timetables coming out soon). It looks like this:
Once inside, I noted that it was the same place as we went to on the last story quests, with just a couple of differences. There are picnic spots and you can call for a pick up to the portal (there is currently a glitch that if you use this feature, you will no longer be able to see other players in Pandoria unless you leave it and come back). It found it very confusing and will spend the next few days finding my way around so that I can hope to spend more time there without being confused. We don't know how long it is staying (but I hope a very long time). Here are some photos FR and I took together in the new area:
Another update (that I didn't actually get the chance to look at) are these headbands to be found in Mistfall:
Personally, it's not something that I would wear but I think it's great how SSO are branching out to be using different accessories. It allows players to express themselves and it is also a lot of fun.
I hope everyone has a great day!
I just got inspiration to write a very short next bit of the story, enjoy!
Watching mist swirl in the valley below was very peaceful and soothing. I did not mind the damp grass beneath me or the cold, uncomfortable stone digging into my back. Up here, in the night, there was no one around to see you cry. I could let the tears form rivers as they cascaded down my facing, hitting the dew covered ground to become, for the next wanderer, nothing more than water.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Mum, but I’m just fed up of her not understanding that I have feelings as well. Ugh, why? I just wanted to go home. Not this strange island where everyone has odd accents and traditions. Not this ranger station that smelt woodsy and unfamiliar. Home in Bristol.
Crack! I heard the sound of twigs snapped. Turning my head sharply, I had hoped to see a deer but it was -
I jumped up and turned to run up the hill towards the mountain.
“Woah, woah, woah, no you don’t,” Matt said, not quite calm. His arms were around me very quickly like a soft, warm, bear. He turned me towards him and hugged me, tight, in a way that I’d always imagined a brother to hug. He continued: “I read the email from Mum, ignore her, she’s probably upset about something. She doesn’t always think before sending, you know that.”
Already feeling tears brewing, I cried, completely giving up on my own dignity.
After a few minutes Matt simply said, “Let’s go home.”
I nodded and followed him back to the rangers station.
Hi guys! A little bit of self promo here. I have made a little guide to getting onto Jarlaheim tower which is a lovely little climb that I found. I hope that you find this video useful in your climb and if you liked it please give my channel some love because that makes me happy (and makes me look cool, I want to be a cool kid o.k.). I want to get back into making videos so badly, but time… Ah well, we’ll see!
Welcome to my little space on the large internet where I can share my thoughts, views and fanfics! I am you 'normal' teenaged girl, who loves writing, gaming and horses. I've played Star Stable online since 2nd June 2014 and I am currently a level 20 player on Cupcake Valley where I hang about with Frosty Roses and my 18 pixel horses!
Disclaimer: All images and anything else to do with this blog are taken in the game Star Stable Online produced by Star Stable Entertainment AB. I have nothing to do with Star Stable and own none of their graphics. But I can tell you it is a great game and you should play it!
