Yay, more late night blog writing, who could want more? I really liked the previous three remakes of the Jorvik pony, so I was quite excited to look at the new ones and I got a really nice surprise! I'll talk about each of them individually in a minute but first I thought I'd talk about them more generally. I really like how SSO is moving away from the plastic look. Although it's still slightly, in some places, a little bit too plasticy, it is a lot better and I really like the new look! Plus, I think that the ponies in general are super sweet. Ok, let's look at each one in detail. This one has got the common nickname of the 'leopard'. I see why. I really like the irregularity of the spots and I love the little pattern around the face. The face itself is really really nice. The mane is really cool in the way that it 'belongs' to the body, rather than feeling it was just stuck on there. I feel a few more streaks of brown would just add a little more to the pony. Also, I think a little more going on with the legs would be great too. The hind ones look particularly plain. I don't mean that there has to be anything on them, just a bit more texture. Overall, I think quite a sweet little pony Aw, this one is definitely my favourite - look at the eyes! I love the 'cow' pattern, especially how the grey patches have a lot of texture. I think that the white on this pony could do with some texture as well though, it looks quite plane at the moment. The face is nice and the mane and tail are simple, but they work with the horse. I feel the legs here could do with something more, particularly the way the black changes to white on the front right one, it is a very sudden change and the black on that leg doesn't match the rest of the horse. However, I thing I love most about this horse (and I'm sorry to have to go with the crowd here) but the heart is so sweet. I love how it's clearly a heart but at the same time still looks natural, like this pony was born with it rather than it was designed! This one really reminds me of my Icelandic pony. I really like everything about this pony. I think, on the design front, it is the best (but it isn't my favourite, as my favourite was the previous one). I love the texture on the coat and the face is to die for. The legs are so much better than the other two and they look much more finished, blended and like they match the horse (a tiny bit more work could be done though). The mane and tail is the best part of this horse. They're just very textured, detailed and feel very low-key, like they belong there. Finally, I love the little white stripe just above the back right hoof. It just makes the pony feel more real and is really sweet. So I think a really successful breed, just a little more work needed on the legs! I feel I should mention that the reviews I do of the horses are my opinion and everyone has their own. I'm sure that people at SSO have worked hard on these but ultimately, I see them as a product (considering the star coins cost really money) that SSO have released and therefore will review them as one. I've seen a lot of people getting crazy on IG about various things related to this topic so I just wanted to make it clear that I think everyone should be able to (respectfully) review products released into the game.
Oh dear, that's enough seriousness for now, it doesn't really suit me. Ok, time for me to press that big shiney orange post button, see you tomorrow (yes, I have a post already planned)!

I remember reading about 3 years ago (or possibly even more) a blog post by Alice Starnight talking about how much she wanted the remake of the Jorvik pony to come to the game. She spoke about how cool it would be for ponies to be able to feed off the grass (at that point, it was a new feature for horses to bend their necks down). Anyway, I just thought I'd give it that bit of context about how I felt when SSO announced this - it was a nice little flash back! Ok, let's get onto the three horses. I really liked this pony with one exception. The mane is so lovely and textured and so is the cote. I love the legs and the nose is so so so sweet. However, for me, there's something off about the lack of colour in the face. It's just something that isn't my style but I know some horses in real life have faces like that, and the white isn't blocky (it's fairly textured), so I think that this horse was a really good job! The face of this one is so sweet. I love how the blaze (is that what you call it?) doesn't just break off. It trails down the face in a really nice pattern. I also love the nose and the texture in the mane. In fact, I love the whole face. However, I think the body is too 'samey' and that ruins it for me a bit. So this was the one that was designed via an Instagram poll in the star stable live stream. Only one of the things that I voted for won, which was the leg markings. I was really worried that the face would look bad but I think that it actually matches this pony and the broken coloured pattern really well. I think that the mane is especially nice. I love how the face markings are irregular and how the colour on the nose fades into pink. Interestingly, I don't really like the legs even though I voted for them. I think the white starts too suddenly and almost looks plasticy. However, the rest of the horse is really well textured. Weird legs or not, I decided to bring this little pony home and call it Vanillacookie, or Vani for short! I was really impressed with these pony designs overall. I think that, mostly, they were not too plasticy and were nice and textures. I really feel like we're starting to get nicely texture horses again. The ponies are also really chubby and cute - which I love! I don't like the fact they've been named "Jorvik Starter Ponies". I think that the "starter" makes it seem like the pony isn't very good when they're really cute. They're also really affordable.
Cheers for reading ~ Li Happy Wednesday update day everyone! I'm still camping but I hope to be able to check what the update is today, I presume it'll be JoJo coming to Jorvik! Now, in last weeks update I saw this image: Do you see the blurred out thing? I wonder what it may be. I honestly have no idea about what it could be but it must be coming soon as they are clearly testing it for use. I hope that it will be some kind of stamp system, like in club penguin, but I don't think it will be.
What do you think it will be? Today we were able to welcome the re-model of the North Swedish horses (more commonly know as the NSH)! Being the first horse that I bought, the NSH has always had a very close place in my heart. They aren't my favourite breed, but I still do really like them. But, as people who read Monday's post will know, I was very excited and hopeful for this update, so let's go and take a look: This one feels like a remake of my old NSH (you can see a photo on the end). Despite the fact that I think the colours work great, the mane is detailed and the leg colouring is great. The think that the shape on the blaze is really cute, but I think it lacks texture. As much as most of the horse is better in texture than more recent horses, the face still has a bit of work. This was my least favourite but I really liked them all so it's not saying much. Let's just take a second to appreciate the colour of the mane... It's so beautiful! The nose is also really lovely and I'm glad to see a bit more texture on the face (although it's not quite there it, it has the most out of all of the horses). I decided not to buy this one because personally I don't like how 'samey' it is, however I know some people really like the 'samey-ness' of it! So I think this one really is personal prefence This was the beauty I took home. Despite the awful lack of texture on the face (it looks awful, I swear) the coat won it for me - the dots are beautiful! I think that the mane and featherings matched perfectly and I loved the start on his head. All of these features outshone the awful face so he came home! Despite originally wanting to go for the black (because of the super cute mane), I decided to take the lovely brown home with me. Even though the face is very pasticy, the coat is amazingly detailed, she had the beautiful mane the same as the black and I just wanted her in my stable. So I've left her to settle in and she got to meet my other North Swedish Horse (who does feel a bit jealous but is glad I didn't get the palo). Look at the difference! Size, shape - everything. The featuring is much more realistic and so is the texture of the coats. The texture is amazingly detailed and I just love it. Honestly, I'm so happy with this remake in general (just not the palo) and I think that SSO have done a really good job. There is still work to be done on the faces, but the rest of the body is amzing. I hope that horses are starting to improve again. Well, I can hope anyway.
What did you think of the new horses? It's been something that lots of players have been hinting at for some time - new North Swedish horses. I feel quite a connection with these horses as it was the first horse that I ever bought in game. As many readers will know, I am not known for liking remakes so I was a bit skeptical about watching the video. But I did and this was one of the first things I saw: Instantly, I was happy (after a very tiring day). This horse is beautiful! I love the pattern on the coat, size, colour of the mane... JUST EVERYTHING! It's honestly so beautiful, I just really love it. It fits in perfectly with Mistfall. This was the second horse (I am guessing there will be three horses in game, but SSO only normally release two on the trailer). I didn't like this one as much as the black one because I think that his eyes look a bit funny. But the coat is absolutely beautiful. I love the speckled brown on it! Have you noticed that there seems to be a new mane and tail style coming with the horses? I'm not sure that I like it but it's always nice to have some new variation. See, from this angle the brown one is really sweet but I still prefer the black. They are not as cartoony as previous horses and I just really like them. They are sweet, fluffy and I just want to give them a hug. I don't know if I'll get one because of my "no horses until previous ones are trained" rule, but I'm very tempted! I think I'll look at the price and balance it out from there. I can't wait to see them in game and I hope that they will look as good as they do here!
Which is your favourite? Spoilers Hola! This time with the new quests, I against filming them. Mostly, this is due to the storage space issues that I’ve been having with my laptop. I decided that it was easier just to leave it and try and find some quests on YouTube. Sadly, no one uploaded a simple play through of the quests in English, but TotalCretin did do two play throughs of the quests, but the first one involved a lot of her exploring Mistfall as well as questing (which is obviously fine, it’s just not quite what I was looking for). But here is a play through of the two quests (videos are NOT mine and were made by TotalCretin, so give the videos and her channel a bit of love). Ok, so, quests. I loved the addition of someone who is blind. I think that it’s important that people from all aspects in life are spoken about in SSO (coughs, including members of the LGBT+ community). People need to learn to accept people from all walks of life, sexuality, disability, gender, race, and nationality (plus a load more that I haven’t mentioned). I liked the idea that they had been lied to about a disease, it just felt slightly more grown up than “we lost the key to the gate” and it’s nice to do. Also, it was nice to see that GED is still up to no good because we hadn’t heard from them in a while. Obviously, the quests were quite short if you think about the potential in a new area, but SSO did stress that they would add more in time, which is quite normal for a new area. I wasn’t so happy with the wolf quest, it didn’t really relevant at all. It was quite boring if I’m honest and typical that the wolves were the bad guys, even though it wasn’t their fault. I don’t think that it was really need if I’m honest. The quests weren’t amazing but they were ok and got me within 100 XP of level 21, so I’m happy about that.
What did you think? Ok, so here are my thoughts on Mistfall. If you want to find out my thoughts on Dundull, that's another post. It's easiest to lay it out by a photo of each area and talking about it, so that's what I've done. To find out about my thoughts on each place, click on the photo. I loved all of the little houses tucked around since you could invent characters for them all which could actually live there. I love the horse presences, the arena and paddocks, which are around as well of the obvious wildlife. I love the birds, butterflies and fireflies and are around this area, they're a new thing and I think look really cool. I also love all of the new planets: I think that SSO did a great job on them all and they look fab. Plus, lots are editable which adds to the idea that the people of Mistfall are hunter-gathers. The levels to the place are amazing and I love the sunbeams that you can find about, they're so pretty.
I mostly love the area; however, there is one thing I dislike - the fog. it's not as bad as I thought it would be and most of the time it is not an issue. But, sometimes, at night it can make it quite difficult to see and do anything in the area, which is a shame. But, for all of the reasons highlighted, I LOVE the area and I can't wait to spend more time in it, discover more climbing routes (already have two) and just have a good time. it was worth the wait so my thanks go out to the Team at SSO HQ - thanks lads. Night! Hi! Mistfall is huge and there’s so many things to review about it and talk about. Here are the things that I really want to talk about - Dundell review - Main land - Quest line - Horses & pets - Clothes & hair - Jorvik Rangers So I’m going to try, in the next couple of weeks, do some of these while not completely spamming the blog with only Mistfall content. Originally, I was going to do just a view on Dundell in this post, but I realised that no one would have a clue what I was on about and would wonder on my thoughts on the rest of the area and update. I assure you, it’s all slowly on its way. For now, I’m just going to do a short line summary on my basic thoughts on each thing so I know I’ve done it. I love reviewing and talking about things and new areas on SSO do my head in. I just love them too much! There’s so much to write about and there’s so much writing inspo and it’s always all too much so I suffer a mini blogging breakdown. Ok Li, breathe, breathe and write. This won’t go into detail on each thing, but it’s the short version of what’s coming in the next few days. As many people would know, I was very worried about the release of Mistfall. I didn’t like the way that they changed the name and I was worried it would be too misty, like Dino Valley. Then, I got worried it would be like South Hoof - no village. But I was very pleasantly surprised. Yes, it’s small, but it’s very detailed. I am getting used to the style of the area and I love the plants and the animals that fly around. I love love love the layers and bridges and all little passageways. Dundell has good Viking heritage vibes, with lots of evidence of fishing and gathering. It’s also a nice cross between Firgrove and Jorvik City, with cars but Firgrove houses, which is a nice transition between them. I love the way that horses are weaved into the way that the town works and the general atmosphere is just great. I have so much more to write on this but not today! The quests were great. It was nice to get an update on GED again. I found them almost challenging in places, which is good, and I think that the story line has some more grown up parts as well as the normal boring “the meat is poisoned” parts, but I get that SSO has to reach a lot of different ages. This is hard to just briefly touch upon, so you’ll have to wait for more detail. The clothes are all detailed and look great, although are expensive. I like the way that you need to get rep to get them, we haven’t had rep in a while so it’s good to have something to work towards. I think it’s nice that the clothes all match the vibes of the area, it just makes the whole thing feel a bit more real. The hair looks cool, I got the pony tail which is the new style. I hope it suits me! I love the Jorvik Rangers. They’re so cool and “woodsy”. I am getting so much inspo about them! There’s not a lot more to say until I review in more detail. So until then! Those are my very brief thoughts on Mistfall. As said, up until Christmas there will be lots of stuff coming about reviewing the area, so I’m sorry in advance for the spam. What did you think of Mistfall? The main thing about today’s upset was new hairstyles. This apparently was the reason that they had to change our characters into monsters, so I was hoping for something a little better than this. But, before I talk about it, let’s look at them: I really like the colours, although they were quite standard, they were nice. The first hair style (braids going to the back of the head) is quite nice. I really do like the way that it waves. However, the plaits seem to be really flat on the head. I wish that it had some depth, either french or dutch, not flat. The second hair style is just really weird. It’s so sticky up at the front, like part of the hair is trying to take off! It’s just very strange and very unnatural. I guess that you wouldn’t be able to see it under the helmet, but still. Today, they also released some more photos of Mistfall: I’m glad that it doesn’t look so misty. It looks pretty decent at the moment. It looks quite magical and pretty. What do you think?
Why haven’t written yet about this I don’t quite know if I’m honest. Ages ago now, new quests came out. I meant to edit the footage from them the weekend after they happened, but that didn’t work out. So, this morning, I uploaded the footage and then I realised: “hang on, I haven’t written about the new quests yet”. I can’t believe that I haven’t! So, I’m doing it now. Here are my two videos as a little round up of the quests (self promotion - please give my poor little channel some love): I loved how similar the race with Katja is from SSL. I thought that it was so cool. I won’t write too much about Fripp’s place, because I’ve done a post about that, but still it was so cool. The drones were awesome and I think it was a good way to implement Dark Core into it without making us go and spy on the base this time. The fact that Anne’s horse may have died is so sad, but the whole thing on Star Breeds intrigue me. Also, it’s great we now have a keystone to go back to Pandoria and rescue Anne next time we do the quests. Also, finding out about Guardian’s Dale is so cool, although I think that we might be the “fifth who leads the way”. I LOVED the brotherly relationship between Avalon and Evergrey, it was such a nice twist as well as a reminder that Avalon is human. I think the quests were very rich with detail only once did we have to do something not related to the story line (getting Evergrey’s stuff) which is great. I really really really cannot wait for the next quests to find out about star breeds!
I’m looking at the clock and feeling guilty that I’m not sleeping. To stop headaches I need at leat 8 hours sleep, but 10 is the only one that stops them, so I need to sleep in the next 20 minutes. New animations today & an (awesome) new hat. Interested in reading my opinions for (most likely) no actual reason? Go ahead!!!! Here are my thoughts on the new look As you can see, as part of the new look, they have added new animations. These aren’t big changes but there’s that move above as well as smoother mounts and dismounts (they’ve got rid of the way the character throws the arm over - which was weird) as well as making you hold the reins, when you’re stationary, in a more realistic way. Those are images of the run and the walk. Some people hate them, but at the moment I actually prefer them. They’re less flouncy and more realistic. Maybe the run is a bit over the top, but I’m glad I don’t walk everywhere like someone on the catwalk anymore My head looks really odd and squashed on my shoulders. It makes me think of a rodent or someone who has a condition that makes them hold their neck oddly (I’m not trying to be rude or anything, it’s just how I see it). Maybe it’s just because of the shorter neck which I’m not used to, but still - it’s weird. Maybe I’ll get used to that in time, I certainly hope so because I really don’t like it at the moment. SSO ADDED POINTED WITCHES HATS. I love the look of them so much, and here they are: You get them in the Halloween shops. I don’t like the white one (which costs over 200sc, which is very over priced, and looks, in my opinion, awful). However, I do like the purple (99sc) and the black (almost 50sc). I decided to take the purple home with me as, although it costs more, it’s more detailed and I think will work best with my SSO Halloween outfit. I really love that these have come to game!
What did you think of the hat and animations? Yesterday, SSO released an article telling us about lots of exciting things coming in game. It’s always nice to see that we haven’t been forgotten about and to be told things that are coming up! The article covered the following things: - New thing at Halloween & Christmas - Animations - Clothes - Hairstyles - Running pets - Horses - New area So I’m going to break each one down and talk about it. This is going to be quite a wordy post because SSO have given us only a few photos, so get yourself a hot drink, warm blanket and settle down to read. SSO have said that they’ll be adding new features to the holiday celebrating, but also keeping some old ones. I think that this is cool because I love tradition, but I don’t look forward to Christmas and Halloween quests anymore, as there is nothing exciting about them. We should get to see the new things happening at Halloween soon and SSO have left us with the little teaser of “For instance, we know there’s a rumour circulating that a mummy has been sighted on the island of Jorvik… “. I hope that it will be like Galloper Thomas was last year because that really was awesome! New animations. I don’t really like the current animations at all because they make taking photos really hard. I’d like to be able to customise the animations a little more but I doubt that will happen. So, I hope the new animations will be more realistic and make the whole experience of the game better. Of course, new clothes. There was a time when SSO released new clothes every week and because of that, new clothes don’t excite me anymore. Their weekly release have pretty much made new clothes an expected thing that is bound to happen with each update - even though it doesn’t anymore. Oh well, they might be nice. NEW HAIR! I am quite excited about this because we haven’t had new hairstyles of a very long time. I am hoping for a messy bun or a half up half down hair style, or French/ Dutch braids. Anything really that is a bit more “on trend” than the current hairstyles that sit in the horse salons. I like the idea of running pets but I’m not sure if they’re for me. I don’t really use my squirrel pet and they’ll probably be very expensive. But a very wise man (aka Professor Dumbledore) once said “don’t count your owls until they are delivered” so I will wait and see if I like them first! Apparently SSO will be releasing a horse that everyone has wanted. The only horses I currently want are Shetland ponies, but I don’t think they’re that popular to come out (due to being a pony). So, I guess, that it may be something that I have never heard of before? I hope that it doesn’t have a plastic look. New area? Well, I would have been excited but right now I’m actually quite sad. It’s had its name changed to “Mistfall” and now looks covered in mist. The mist really ruined Dino valley and I think it will ruin Mistfall too. I just hope that there isn’t mist everywhere. SSO are back to their old name changing tricks, May to Maya, Firfall to Mistfall. And no, I don’t think it’s because “players glitches in”. Here are some pictures: As I said, if there’s mist everywhere, like in Dino Valley, I think that it will be ruined. All of these pictures have mist in so we may be out of luck. However, if the mist is only in some places, maybe confined to the woods, it will be ok. Also, it will be released in 3 parts. I’m not sure how I feel about this. If they release the parts quickly, I don’t mind. However, if it takes 3 years to bring out the one area, I will not like it. I hope that the parts aren’t too small as well, but I think they’ll be about GHV size. I’m going to write a mail to SSO support about there not being mist everywhere and I’d urge everyone else to as well if they agree with me! What do you think about the new area?
Ok, well here it is, a detailed review of (MAJOR SPOILERS COMING) the area under the Stone Vault. I really really relayed loved it, especially after I predicted a similar area just a few posts ago! The way this is going to work, is I’m going to talk about each of the different areas within the room one at a time. I loved the area of there being places to read in a very formal manor, and also to practise magic. I’m not so sure how Fripp reaches them, so I presume they are used for druids. In this photo, I’d also like to talk about the general room. I love the way it’s made from stone with wood everywhere and lots of levels. Fripp is basically a magical squirrel so this really reflects his personality! The magic aspect is from the pandoric stones that you can see around and about. The books are amazing. I love the way that he has several old titles books and then some more modern day ones. Well, everyone needs to be widely read! I wish we could actually read the books… This is such a cosy little area. You can see Elizabeth coming in here and talking to Fripp while having some food. There’s a map on the wall, so I wonder what that’s about. Of course, the table has a book open - even eating isn’t an excuse for not reading! Definitely the place where Fripp makes his potions. I can just see him hopping between the desks with a bottle in his teeth, mixing up something to make Justin tell the truth… I loved this. I think it sets of the room perfectly. Druids (as in the religion) are very into stars so I like to think that this sky is like the sky in the Hogwarts Great Hall and it changes as the stars change, which helps Fripp map them and predict upcoming events. Aw Fripp. He’s sleeping in a tree which shows his true squirrelness! The bed looks so comfy and the pillows are perfect. I think that the blanket was Elizabeth’s idea though because it doesn’t really match the rest of the room - definitely something Elizabeth is into.
I loved the room so much. What was your favourite part of it? NEW DRUID QUESTS! This was so unexpected for me and I guess everyone else (although Esme Silverforce did mention a theory about Ylva’s hair turning pink…). But it was cool anyway. As I said briefly in the last post, I’m not 100% right now so I have only completed day one of quests (which I’m currently editing). However, my delightful sister has told me that you only enter Pandoria once, so here are some images of my fun in Pandoria. I loved it as always, but wasn’t it so hard to find your way out of? Do tell me I wasn’t the only one who got COMPLETELY lost! I really LOVED Fripp’s room underneath the Stone Circle. I hope to have a full review on the room up tomorrow because I can’t go into enough detail here. I wasn’t so sure on the character Evergray. I didn’t feel that he was a druid at all and I wish that SSO had made him more druid-y. He is still a druid even though he got kicked out, especially as his brother is as all (Avalon and Evergray being brothers was an amazing plot twist). I think, however, that his outfit was wonderfully detailed and he had a lot of character - which was great. The whole magic at Guardian’s Dale was so cool. I loved the idea of the four soul horses coming together to light the thing up, but I really want to know about the fifth. Where do we stand in it? I think my starter horse, Lovemagic, is currently praying for a statue to be made in name of him! My horse is almost as vain as me. I haven’t finished the quests yet, so I’ll go into more detail sometime next week when it’s all together.
One final thing, I loved the new druid outfit. My sisters look amazing in theirs, Eva in brown and Bella in Green. I love the tack and I love the whole concept - if it wasn’t so darn expensive! I shall not be buying it, but I really do love it anyway. Hello there. So, today’s update was a Hanoverian race. A lot of people are quite annoyed about it as they do not own a hano (lI’m laughing so hard because it just auto corrected hano to hand) so they cannot do it. However, as long as in the future there are races for horse breeds that I do have, I think it’s quite cool. Yes, it’s not my horse breed this week but in the future I’m sure there will be a really nice race for my horse. You can get 10XP just from talking to the dude at Silverglade Arena so you might as well go ahead and do it. The actual race gives you 350XP and looks quite cool. Just like in the open house race, there are cross jumps as well as water jumps - which look amazing! Little tip, if you own a hano and you’re training another horse then do the race on the hano and collect it with the horse you are training. I would really like water jumps in the game permanently, not just when you’re racing (my hopes for the new area this year). I think it’s been an ok update actually. I didn’t expect anything that big after Pandoria just two weeks ago. It’s quite a nice idea and if it was a breed that I had, and liked, I’d love it but, I don’t, so for now it’s not my cup of tea. But, if they make a Lipizzaner dressage race then I’ll be so happy.
What did you think? I was thinking the other day about wolves on SSO and how they’re represented. So, I got my sister (who loves wolves) to do a little interview about them.
How do you think wolves are represented on SSO? Well, I kind of think that they’re represented as stupid large dogs almost as IRL giving them large dog biscuits wouldn’t help. It’s negative because they are shown as stupid. Also, when they chase people away it’s because they’re territorial due to cubs or something like that - not because they’re hungry so how would dog biscuits help? Do you think this is fair? After all, some wolves will attack. Well, to be honest it isn’t uncommon for wolves to be represented for wolves to be represented as creatures that will attack you. But, it isn’t fair as it doesn’t show all of the perspectives of wolves and what we’ve done to them. How important is it that wolves are represented positively? It’s really important as some people are killing wolves a lot at the moment as they think that wolves are killing their stock and stuff. People are doing really horrible things to them so we need to represent them positively so that people can sponsor them and help them. Would wolves actually live in Jorvik and if so, which kind? Well, Jorvik has a lot of different habitats - Dino Valley would have the Artic Wolves. But the mountains would be the home of red wolves and grey wolves for the forest and mountains. But really there are woods, mountains, lakes so lots of different wolves could live there. However, the habitats are quite small so there couldn’t be that many packs due to the amount of people that live there. I'm very proud of myself right now that I managed to edit this video today. Well, here's the video if anyone has a free 13 minutes to watch it. I think it's cool that they are showing that Justin didn't just walk out of the Dark Core base unharmed and that the Druids aren't happy with him either. It's a really cool quest line that actually reminds me a bit of the Shadow Hunter books for some reason. There wasn't actually a lot of story. It short it was just "Arrest Justin and tell you that we're going to find Anne". I have no issue this this happening because I can't wait to see Anne! I expect that it's coming soon but more on that over the weekend. I think it was a bit of a filler quest but I'd rather a filler quest than no quest at all so I'm not that bothered if truth be told. The quests were quite simple, no particularly amazing animations but I like the way they're starting to take Loretta's feelings into account. It's funny that we aren't allowed romance between players but it's fine with NPCs!
What did you think of the new quest lines? This was not expected at all, STORY QUESTS! But first, little disclaimer: this post WILL include spoilers about the quests but WON’T show an exact quest replay so read at your own risk. Before I did the quests, I looked at this brand new set of clothes. I really love them as they are the perfect picture of “Valedale” and it’s something that I would actually wear in game. I just love it all really. The hat is in my second favourite style - beanie - (my favourite being Western). The tunic is a really pretty and isn’t the classic puffy dress but it isn’t a shirt either. Just nice simple brown gloves and trousers. And I love the way that the boots have fleece on to show that it’s up North and colder but also have the green vine to show that Valedale is a place of flowers and nature. I think a lot of thought have gone into these but the price was just too much to get on my main account. The tunic alone was 149 sc (not available in Jorvik Shillings) and it’s about 400 sc to get the whole set so I might get it on an alt where I don’t care about the money that much. I’ve now taken too long talking about clothes when the most important thing in this update is the story quest.
I think it’s really cool that they show that Justin hasn’t walked away from his time at Dark Core unharmed and that Fripp and the Druids aren’t happy with him either -coughs loudly that there may be fan fiction coming-. It seems like Justin is almost possessed by Garnok and I really love this part of the quest line. And can we just talk about the fact that Anne is coming! I. Can’t. Wait. FINALLY Anne is coming to join us hopefully in the next story quest update when we will get to go through to Pandora. I haven’t yet edited the video of the story quests (which I will do tomorrow) and I will write a separate post about my hopes for Pandoria. The final thing is that the amount of REP you get in the Sun circle dailies and the Pandoric Cracks has increased which is a bit annoying for players who worked hard on it (COUGHS, another post is coming there, so much post inspiration from this update) but I guess it would take too long for the newer players to work through the story quests. What did you think of the update? I still wish that we got to keep our old starters, but here the new ones are. Lots of people have loved the update and, don't get me wrong, the horses are beautiful, I'm considering buying an old morab or something, but I'd just like to keep my old one because this isn't the horse I started the game with and I'm sentimental. Well, here's a before and after. The main change I think is the shape of the face which now looks like a lippi. I like the lippis but still it's a bit annoying that they didn't give it more character. I'm useless at comparing gaits and I actually didn't notice any difference...opps! I do really like the horse though, it's just really pretty, I just wish i had a choice in getting it rather than it being forced upon me. SSO also updated a few other things in game including the trailers, sign posts, chores board and more. I've only found four things so far but there's bound so be more so if you know any others, please let me know! Of the little new things in game, I like the new details and how that's more realistic but I wish that the colours were more natural and the textures less cartoony. It was okish, there were good things and bad things and I'll certainly miss my old starter...
But to cheer everyone up, you do like that you can now buy the "Team Star Stable" jacket in the mall right? So SSO has released a survey that you can fill in things about the game in. Find the link here. The survey has lots of things including: 1. Basic information on your player, when you started, how you found the game 2. How you access SSO news 3. What platforms you use 4. Which updates you want 5. How important different things are in game It was a really cool survey and there was so much I wanted to say and certainly a lot that I want in game. So, to include it all I made a little video (as you can see below). I think it’s so cool that we have a chance to voice our own opinions and that SSO are listening to what we, the players, say. Weather and carriage things are things that the community has been campaigning for so it’s cool that they might be coming! Oh, and don’t forget about dressage…! Did you do the survey? If so, what did you put for your favourite updates and why?
