So I was logging on today (just to update the calendar since I climb on a Monday) and while my laptop was loading I had a little thought. I was watching the tips of the day and thinking how useless they are: I mean, how's that going to help anyone in their game play. So I started thinking, why shouldn't players submit their tips for the game? Things such as 'Looking for a place to hide from your friends? Try hiding in a rock' or something like 'Get stuck somewhere? Ask a friend to invite you to a group and then do a group race to get unstuck'. Just little things like that which I think would really help players. Everyone could send them in and then SSO could choose their favourite each day.
This would be a cool way to help all players as well as promoting the community (which is really need right now). If you could give anyone a tip on SSO, what would it be?

Wouldn’t it be so cool if, on SSO, you could just sit down with a friend, pet or horse. Forget about needing a picnic, BBQ or chair, you could just sit on the floor (where it was flat) in a couple of positions of you choosing - some with horses and some without. E.g. sitting cross legged, stretched out, lying down, leaning against your horse. The options are endless. I started thinking about this when seeing these photos on the SSO website: But honestly, wouldn’t this make such a great little addition to the game? It would be great for club events (musical bumps) as well as being great for general Instagram photos and hanging out with friends. Wouldn't you love to lean against you horse like in the photo? I really think that this would be a great thing to add to SSO!
A few months back (yes, I’ve had this waiting to be blogged about for months) I was doing a quest on a friends alt account and I saw this: It got me thinking, wouldn’t it be so cool to have that race back again? If it was between Moorland and New Hillcrest, it could be to two teams against each other. Ever since SSO announced that they were releasing another racing team I have wanted two things: first, to be able to get a uniform top for the New Hillcrest team and second for there to be a quest where they race against the Bobcats. As the game has progressed so much, the race could be really cool with loads of RL style jumps. What would you want from this new course if I ever happened?
Just an errant thought. Wouldn't it be so cool if there was a hot air balloon, like the one that takes you to Dino Valley, but instead it offered you a fly over of SSO? This would give you a birds eye view of the whole of Jorvik and, as it flies around, there could even be buttons to zoom in or out (go higher or lower). I think that this would be used heavily in photos and videos and would just be so beautiful - please SSO, please!
This is sad. I was training on an alt and I came 0th. I wish I could have an actual placing. I don’t just mean in the top 20. I think that we should be able to see where we are out of all the players in the server that have done that race. So you could be told you placed 103rd or something. I understand listing all of the players would be hard so if you get under 20th then it just says your place instead of saying zero if you get me? I’m not phrasing this very well haha. It would give lower level players something to aim for because they could aim for being in the top 50 rather than being in the top 20. They can’t get in the top 20 as they’re not fast enough but it would keep them interested in racing which I think is a really good thing. It would also be interesting to see how you were doing compared to the whole server!
SPOILERS (again). In the last Story Quest, we were told that we will be going into Pandoria to rescue Anne as she’s now too far in for the primeval tree to get her. This is really cool because Pandoria will be a whole new area which might be our main area for the year. What are my hopes for it? Well, I hope that it will be rather like the SSL games but my main hope is that we will be able to go to it after the quests have ended. I certainly don’t want it to only go there once! I hope that there will be some kind of daily left there that we can do so the joy or story quests last longer. But what do we know for sure will be in this new place? Well, if you check your discovered areas (and you should - you can find a lot browsing through there), you will find something that looks like this: Obviously, this is where we’ll need to go to rescue Anne. The “Agent of the Darkness” makes me think that we’ll have to fight them to get to Anne. I hope for a cross between fighting the GED guards and running from Shadow Creature things. Also this island is floating. Maybe we’ll just have to “hop” up to it but I hope very much that our horse will grow wings again - it would be cool to see them. I hope that next time we’ll be about to control our horse flying but maybe that’s too much extra programming.
I hope (I’ve said that 6 times now) that the quests will come this year but maybe not. What are your hopes for the new story quests? We all are on a server on SSO and the chances are, at some point, you’ve encountered moving server with either friends moving away or you moving away from friends. Some people may have experienced being stuck on a server as well. But, here’s an idea, what if you could make a server that people could request to join! So, there would be the regular servers but there could also be a server just for Frosty Roses plus a few friends. You’d be able to switch servers and when you wanted to, you could go back to Cupcake Valley/ Unicorn Forest/ Candy Cove.
True, there are many floors but I think (with a lot of refinement) it could work and it could be awesome. What do you think? A lot of the time when I can’t get on, it’s not because I can’t get on my laptop, it’s because I don’t have access to the internet. Sometimes, when new quests come out I can’t even see what I’m doing due to the amount of people. What if I told you I know a way that this could you fixed?
Well, obviously I am telling you that, that’s what this blog post is all about! My idea is simple, there’s a version of Star Stable but that’s offline. So, what would happen is, you can play offline and then when you log on you’d sink up with the main game and be able to see other players, get highscores, etc. There would obviously need to be multiple changes to the game for this to happen. Number 1, you’d have to be able to save the offline game because the online game sends data to the server which stores your progress in game. That couldn’t really happen. Also, you’d have to be able to access the launcher from offline which maybe means that you wouldn’t need to log in each time. However, SSO would take up more space on peoples computers and I bet there would be hoards of glitches that you could do because of this. But what do you think? I really enjoy the races at Hermit, mainly because they are short haha. But I would really like to be able to earn some JS on my favorite race by high scoring. It surprised me that SSO hadn't added it in sooner because it's the only race I know of that gives XP but isn't on the high scoring list and you can't race on as a group. But hey, I'm home today! I'm going out for two days away tomorrow but today I have finally done the canoe touring and boom, chilling at home getting ready for tomorrow. I'll be back properly on Monday evening!
Hello there! Well I was doing my typical “let’s aimlessly canter around Jorvik while I speak to FR because I have nothing better to do” type thing while actually thinking of the god damn French revision waiting for me (J'apprends un peu de français). And in the galloping I came across a set of jumps in the Hollow Woods. I did now about this before but it got me thinking about tracks in game. One of the things I like about the riding hall is the opportunity to be creative. Make your own jumping course, make your own dressage routine. But when it comes to cross country (XC), there simply isn’t the same opportunity. Sure, you can sure Valedale lake or even the tracks I found in and around Hollow Woods. But they aren’t actual XC tracks and obstacles are they? There aren’t corners, combinations, water complexes, banks, drops, ditches and the rest. I really want SSO to add this to the game, what fun it would be!
Who called it? I DID! New story quests. Oh my god, I’m so excited. The story quests are part of the reason that I hang around playing SSO. I’m so so so excited for the next ones! This video doesn’t give away much besides that it’s coming out in April and that it involves three soul riders… But can we hope for the return of Anne? Well I’ll be annoyed if not! Another hope for the quests is that the small area for this year is, in fact, Pandoria which we’ll be able to enter even after the quests have done. I think that this would be awesome as I can just think of the amazingness there. I just cannot cannot cannot wait! I hope that it’ll be soon but Easter update first of course. Ah well, we better meet Anne and go to Pandoria after over a year of waiting… Hello, Li here (well who else would it be). I’m casually sitting in a sea of piles listening to music. I’m going on a two day expedition Thursday and Friday which should be awesome but packing is the most stressful thing ever! You may have noticed that I did not post yesterday, that’s because mostly (like right now) I really enjoy posting and I have way to too much to say and not enough time to say it. However, sometimes I don’t feel that and I just want to do other things. I never want writing to become a chore so if I don’t feel like blogging - I won’t! Anyways, onto what I wanted to share today. Yesterday, the Frosties and I decided to run around Dark Core base pretending to be normal (photo below). While I was there I noticed how much of the area could be opened up for future quests and I wondered what I’d like to see there. The first thing I’d like to be able to go inside the base again. Below I have a photo from last time and I think we can all agree it was awesome! Wouldn’t it be cool if the the other soul riders were caught and we had to break them out using our own powers? So it would be a bit like the South Hoof quests with the horses but with the soul riders. Hopefully we could meet Justin in there as well because I think that we can convert him back to good yet! Hey, I’ll tell you something really awesome, if our own character pretended to be evil for a bit - I’ve always wondered what bring a Dark Rider is like. Below is a photo she you’re running away from DC in a quest. I’d like this to happen again but next time you to be running away from the Dark Riders and you get to send spells at them. And you could choose which spell to use as well by pressing different keys so you have more control over the quests (something that I always like because when you have more control it’s like that I myself am doing the quests which always makes it more enjoyable for me). So that would be amazing. Basically, I just want more awesome story quests. What do you think?
At the moment I arrange by clothes by colour and holiday. But every time I change outfits, this means I have to put the old outfit away. It means that when I’m looking for my racing gear I have to delve through fathoms of clothes but when I’m making a low stat outfit, I want it in colour order so when I think “I want dark blue jeans” boom, dark blue jeans to hand.
This would solve all of the problems. I’d like it sort of like this. I’d like it so that you’d open your wardrobe and decide that you want to sort by colour. So you press the brown and all of the brown clothes go to that page. You could then select the type that you wanted so that you’d only see that type. Then you could select the type so you could only so If you want you could then press stats and the clothes on that page would go in order of stats. And boom you can find those max stats brown boots that have been missing! I normally hate the “mall” design but I’d actually like it for our wardrobe as it is more visual and it would allow you to see what’s what. But I wouldn't like to go in the "mall room" just the actual shop thing. What are your ideas about the wardrobe? Post them on Instagram and tag @starstableonline if you want a change! Feel free to use this photo but please credit me and my Instagram account @lisilentland. I was questing on another account today and I did the quest where you had to read books with Linda. It was so cool! You actually got to read the books. It got me thinking, wouldn't it be so cool if we could actually read books in the library. I'd like to see Nick's travel guides, a History of Jorvik, lots of information about different places and possibly a weekly newspaper. Maybe some Jorvik children's stories and legends as well. SSO could even do a competition each week where the players send in the articles for the myths/ newspaper/ books etc and then the winner (s) get theirs added in game. That would be awesome as it would mean lots of new contact plus would inspire writing about the game. I really want this to happen!
Here are the pages from the books, I've included them because they give you an idea of what I think the books should look like and the content is actually interesting to read for people who haven't read them in a long time! If you've ever been really bored, you may have tried going to Dark Core's base and running into the big orange thing on the helipad. For those of you with lives who haven't tried it, you get a sort of purple edge around your screen (sometimes) as seen in the photo below.
Lots of people have (as you can imagine) been talking about this. Some people have gone as far as saying that this is the portal to Pandoria. It's actually the portal to Garnok, beneath the sea. So why does it look like it's working already? This makes me think that the team have started the code for it to actually work in the end. This is reinforced as the loading screen to the base has recently changed its look, revamped for the new quests? I'd love to go under the sea to visit Garnok (I mean hopefully we'd fight them but you know). I'd actually rather go to Garnok's lair thing than go to Pandoria. Garnok sounds a lot cooler. What do you think, would you rather see Garnok than going to Pandoria? After the quests on Wednesday, I was wondering around Jorvik City and I saw (not for the first time) some interesting people about that I thought could make quite cool quests. The first one I saw was this girl, Sierra, from the New Hillcrest racing team. She has a name which probably means some point in the near future she will be involved in a quest. It could be a really boring shopping quest or something but I hope it's something like the quest line with Alex's family. I think that would be awesome especially if we could help her and give her advice (and maybe join the racing team, but I suppose we are a Bobcat). These people all seem pretty behind an idea. I wonder what it's about? After playing so much Sims 3 I hope they aren't protesting about llamas! I hope that it's something like GED and in helping them in a quest we ourselves will be able to go to GED's headquarters (which I hope will be in Jorvik City). It would also be cool to meet some of Jorvik's crime force when they are trying to sort this out. The final thing I saw then I was wondering around was the queue at this cafe. The people at the front seem pretty angry at someone but other people are also sitting at the tables so it can't be closed? People are talking in groups which makes me think that they are talking about something specific, maybe something personal?
Let’s take a look at global. “Will you joining my club” “342 to join my club” “SNEAKY WOLVES, ACTIVE, FRIENDLY, 444 TO JOIN” “Mail Harry Potter to join the DA today!”
Okay, I made the last one up, but honestly there’s so much spam on global for clubs. I think that there needs to be somewhere else to advertise your clubs, and for people to search for a new one. But where? How about the notice board in Silverglade? A club owner would go there and write a short paragraph about their club. Then someone could browse through the clubs and read the paragraph. They could also see the amount of people in the club and the amount of people online. Then they could contact the owner via a button which would send the owner a mail notifying them that someone was interested in join with that person’s name. I think that this would be much better for club owners and those people who wish to find a club! This idea was based on an initial idea by Esme Silverforce I’m definitely meant to be packing at the moment! Oh well, in true me fashion I’ve snuck off to write. Today I was playing a game with my sisters on the Apple TV and I got a badge ‘1000 clones killed’. Yes, not the best badge to get but I like it. It’s also in Club Penguin (something I used to play a long time ago). You could do certain things and unlock badges. Some of them with hidden things in game, others more obvious things such as getting over 100m in the air in the surfing flip. These are really cool and I’d love to see them in SSO. When you got a badge it would appear on the screen and both you and your friends could check through your badge book so you could try to earn more in a ‘friendly’ competition with your friends and club mates. I think the badge should look something like this: Well it’s good bye from me! I have posts scheduled everyday at 6pm (GMT time). I can be contacted over my Instagram, so goodbye and good night. Happy New Year! I’m back on Monday.
Whilst I was Skyping Ava Northstar today to celebrate her 22nd birthday, an idea struck me. We were up at Everwind Fields and I saw the hot airs balloons. What if we could fly them? You would get on them and use your arrow keeps to navigate them around Jorvik, giving you amazing views of the island. I think that that would be so cool! The sights of Jorvik would be amazing, looking down onto Dino Valley for example.
I think that it would be an amazing cool addition to the game, what do you think? Is it worth it or would players only go on it once, never to be used again? It’s here, Jorvik City is here! There’s so much to write about, quests, area, new things, home stable furniture. But I climb on Wednesday so I recorded the quests but haven’t blogged about them or the clothes yet, that’s my plan for tomorrow. Tomorrow I will also expand on the home stable furniture since you get it through quests it will fit best there. Today I will jus talk about all three of the areas inside the City and use the captions to take you through them. But before I start I’d like to say a few things, First SSO has improved so much over the years. There are so many awesome things in their new area. I really like that. However, I have two complaints. First you can’t take your horse. It’s the horse game and you horse stays lonely at FP? Also it is a ‘closed’ map. This means that you cannot run around all of it and you have to virtually travel between them. Click on an image to see my view on it! I feel like that is the posh place in town where people who want a slightly quiter version on town life live. It's my favourite of the 3 places. Now, let's move onto Governors Falls (intesting name). There's so much to happen around this area, this is certainly the centre of town! Moving onto misterious Pier 13... There are so many potentional quests to happen here, I can't wait!
Overall: The new area is very realistic and has a lot of future updates with the opening of Jollisters, DC, and many quests with everyone we haven't met yet from the guy on his phone to the dance class. I wish that it was bigger but I understand that with this much detail and new code it must have taken a very long time. I hope that we get Star Acadmey type quests soon as well as main story quests with Dark Core. I would also like some of the areas in the city to be opened up over time, but still quite frequently. I am most excited to visit the museum as I hope that you can learn about Jorvik's history there. A mssive thank you to the SSO team for this amazing area. Also they mentioned a treat in FP? It was some presents that you put in your saddle bag. I thought that it was a really cute area and the presents weren't too expensive so I got all three: |
