I'm so happy that these quests have finally come! So lets go. Contains spoilers about the latest SSO update Me! I- How could you! No I didn't come here to steal the horses. I came here, by order of James to find out what was happening with the lighthouse. Oh thank God, it's Madison. Thank you Madison. Of course I'll do that. So I just need to attach it to them? Let's go! Okay. While I'm here I'll see if Madison and her family need any help. Okay. Up you get, hold on tight! Shes calling for Nightdust. The wild horse. Madison n- Oh he isn't as wild as last time. I'll help you up. Let's see how well you've trained him. Let's race. Come on Ben! Have fun and I'll see you tomorrow.
I hope we'll get to solve the mystery of these horses. We'll see tomorrow.

I awoke from the depth of a dream (as rather interesting one about a giant chicken). Of course, the chicken part might be owing to the fact that a rooster was crowing loudly. Sleepily I rubbed my eyes and hopped out of bed.
I’m Saga by the way. Saga Sunfield. I don’t get half teased about my name! I stepped out onto the cobbled yard at our farm. Freja was already awake and was feeding the kittens (she is in charge of a kitten rehoming centre). I sighed. Today was one of the longest days. I would have to do my chores around the farm and then head off to school, followed by stable work (this earned money as I was saving up for my own horse). I headed into the cow shed. It was my job to milk and feed the cows. I milked each one. Their foamy milk falling into a tin bucket, that I kept emptying into the big barrels in the cellar. Freja was already down there. She started filling up the bottles of milk. It was still only 6am so we would deliver them before everyone woke up. After the cows were happily munching away, I climbed onto the cart which delivered the milk around Jarlaheim. Well, to a third of it. Some order from the Goldsperes and some from Jorvik Stable farm. But Jorvik Stable farm only supplies Jarlaheim and a few people in Epona. But we supply most of Jorvik. I set the bottles down in the early morning ferries. Some would be taken to the Valleys, some up Silversong River for those villages and some to Silverglade. Of course, a lot went to Epona. Back at home Mam gave us each 2 oat pancakes with honey and berries (picked in Greendale) before we set out for school! The posts I find most interesting are factual posts, about the background of the game. I also like posts about Star Stable, and rants. I love to read a good old rant! I often find that I just like detailed lively posts, which I need to work on doing. I like them to make me smile and feel good. But I also like to log on and go “hey have you heard about…” and everyone going “:o no”. I like to be the bringer of news I guess and I mainly get that news from reading peoples blogs. I try to write posts that I would read, and I will enjoy reading back. That’s my goal for my posts, that in 6 months time I will make myself smile reading them!
How have you been doing with Epona archaeology? It’s taken about 3 weeks but I’ve managed to find all of the bits and pieces required to make the set! I’ve almost got the set of tack as well but this is taking longer as it is a random reward through special finds. I really like the outfit but it is getting near the end of summer so I won’t be wearing i for much longer. It was certainly worth the time put into all the hammering!
For me my inventory is my survival pack in game. I like it nice and empty and organised with only the things I need. This means I don’t like to put in clothes or tack or anything like that.
So we’ll start on the left hand side. This is where I keep my horse care essentials! I have my bucket of water, hoof pick and brush. I then have all my food and treats down the middle. On the bottom left I keep all my food that I earned from the rainbows. However, this is running low! On the top right I keep all the things I might need around Jorvik. My fishing rod, pickaxe and for some reason I like to carry around the deed for my horse. When main story quests come out I always pick up my light of Aideen, Aideens tears, Shadow Sucker (2.0) and my rune wand. Finally I have my access things. Thats my bus ticket, my circus ticket and my key for the tree house. You’ll never know when you’ll need to use them! What do you keep in your inventory? So I have decided to take part in a blogging challenge by Cecilia Gladefield. I have translated it to English and I have then dividd the questions into groups (some are in groups for 5, others alone) that I can answer them it. This leaders to 39 posts so I plan to post 2 a week for the next 20 weeks!
The first questions were to do with how I started to blog, so here goes. At the beginning of the game my club had a website and I wanted a website for my Star Stable character, so I made one. It was a scrappy little place but I still updated it with posts and I enjoyed it. However, I decided that I was useless at it and deleted my blog in April 2015. About 3 months later I realised what I was missing out on and I reopened my blog in July 2015. I was still a newb and at that time my blog posts weren’t any better then before (I haven’t deleted them, so they are still here to read!). This time I stuck it out. And I improved. And I improved. Now I am very happy with my blog, but I’m sure in a years time I will look back at this post with disgust! I blog about anything that interests me. That includes story writing, facts about game, debates, theories, ideas, life updates, anything. At first it was an online diary but it has moved away from that a bit. The only post I don’t enjoy writing is the summaries for the quest, but I do them because a month on I like to be able to look back and read through the old quests. Overall, blogging is just my outlet for all my ideas and thoughts. It lets me put them somewhere for anyone to enjoy if they should wish. I blog because it makes me feel good! Finally my Firefox is fixed and I can use it again! So let's jump into the recent quests: Able to fish? Why do you need to fish? You have field of corn and other vegetables. Fish should stay swimming in the sea (I've never eaten meat or fish in my life). Oh I suppose you should get them for your family if you have to. Okay I have the traps. I know a place where the water is really shallow, shall we lay them there? Remember, it's good luck to spit three times! Okay I'll get the buckets and the knife. Then let's go. I know you need to use the knife to scrap them off the rocks and then you can put them in the bucket. Harvesting the oysters Okay, you're on! I'm winning! Wooho! Thank you. Shall we head back to the docks? I love the shirt. I think it looks like it's been home dyed, you never know!
It seems that it was forever ago that I wrote my last post. I’ve been playing tennis all week and I get home and I flop on the sofa. Then I log on to see my little frosty buds (ie the club I am in, Frosty Roses), then I’m so tired I sleep.
I’ve seen the update and I’m looking forward to do it tomorrow when I should have a bit more time. I’m actually quite excited for more quests over on South Hoof as it’s been a while. However, I’m a lifetime vegetarian (never had meat) so fishing isn’t my thing! Also have you seen that this is Star Stables 250th update? That is huge! A massive well done to the team, you can see how much they’ve improved, from coding to graphics, over the years. I’m sure a year from now I will be looking at this (around our 300th update) thinking: “…the game used to be that bad…” Haha, it’s true though. It’s improved by leaps and bounds. The mark the 250th update there are 5 codes SSOONE SSOTWO SSOTHREE SSOFOUR SSOFIVE Each worth 50 star coins. So if you maths it (yes, maths it) you will figure that that is 250 star coins! Night xx It’s everywhere. On Instagram, global, club, friend, google, Facebook. Many people keep asking for male characters in game. Repeatedly Star Stable have said that it will never happen. But why?
From a marketing perspective Star Stable is aimed at girls, and is presented as a girls game. If you introduce boys it becomes a very different thing in the eyes of the public. Mothers and Fathers may be less inclined to let their 8 year old join a game where there are publicly 15 year old boys roaming around. Whereas, even if 15 year old boys play and look like girls it doesn’t make such a big effect on the parents. Only about 2% of players are boys. (This means that for every 50 member club the chances are there is one boy, this is true for Frosty Roses.) I want to explore this question so I’m going to use both sides of the story. There should be boy characters on Star stable online because the boys who play shouldn’t forced to look like girls. Actually, not letting boys look like boys means that many boys who would play don’t. This means less money for Star Stable. But that it literally it. If there were boy characters, many would pretend to be a boy, much for the form of dating. There would be a lot more drama about that and about who has lied about their gender ect. I don’t think the servers need anymore drama. Also there are many games where you can lonely play as a boy and girls just get on with it and play. Does it matter on Star Stable? The funniest thing is, all the boys I know in game (who have proved they are real boys) don’t complain about their looks in game as they just want to play. I do think that Star Stable should not introduce male characters. Ah, I've been so busy in the last week - not. For some reason when I have nothing to do I suddenly don't have enough time to do anything. For the last 5 days I've just been drifting around doing nothing and yet I don't have time to do anything. I'm going to sort that out for next week and get started doing things again. But enough of my holiday moans, let's get on to the new quests! Oh like last year? Sure, I'll put up the balloons again! Now what? Yes I remember how to prepare the horses. Let's go! Step 1. Catch your horse Step 2. Groom your horse Step 3. Tack your horse up I'm done! What else? Sure I'll put up the competition poles. You want me to try out the competition first? Okay! Cool, it's good. Shall I tack up some more horses? Oh you've run out of saddles. You lost the saddles? Fine I'll find them and clean them up for you. Happy? What shall I do now? Help the riders up? Sure thing! There we are! My name is Li and I'm taking you out on a short hack to the town where you can do a bit of shopping and then we'll hack back and you can say to all your friends "I've been on a horse!" That was fun! Oh course I'll take some photos. So many people here. They can't all be beginners, so where do the elite race? Oh you're just about to open it.. Wow that was cool! Aww thank you Johanna! I'll be back soon to enjoy the races.
I've been thinking for a while when would this be back. I enjoy the races and I like the idea of it. I wonder when the other stables have an open event. I think I need to explore this more. Have you seen the new SSO phone app? On the 29th of July Star Stable AB released a phone app called Star Stable friends. It is only available in New Zealand and Australia on iOS. It will hopefully be released in Android later this month. It hasn't yet got a date to be released in the UK.
The app allows you to send and check your mail in game and club owners can update the calendar. However, this is only a test and in the future they hope to add other features, I wish for a chat, so you can talk on club, group and friend. I already use WA and Instagram to stay in contact with people when I am away but this doesn't always mean I can talk to everyone. I also wish for an advertising place for clubs as I think this would be clutter global chat and make it easier for people looking for a club. Also a feature to buy more stable care would be great! Finally, some kind of share thing. I know this is a bit like Instagram but I think it could really help to community. You know on Sims there is a "share this memory" function? Well what if it was a bit like that and you could share things like joining a club, and getting a high score. Or maxing a horse. (Yes sneaky me is trying to find a way of keeping an eye on everyone!) Photos used from Jorvikpedia. A player from New Zealand or Austraila took these. Photo belong to the owner of the app. Reed Kessler. In game we all go past her all the time and see her as another NPC. But Reed is actually a real person and she is one of my real life stars.
Reed is a show jumper and competed in the Olympics in 2012. She was the youngest person there, only 18. She wears the same red jacket as she does in game. All players who have met her will of had a copy of this given to them. The reason she wears this jacket is as she competes for the US team. She is very determined and I say “Keep going Reed!” Ps. I will be home very late tonight. Love you, miss you, Li xx Horse - häst
Walk - promenad Trot - Trav Water - Vatten Hay - Hö Stable - Stabil Sorry it’s not much but it’s all I know, a small post today yes but better the nothing. I have been blogging for over a year!
I have been blogging for over a year! I have been blogging for over a year! I have been blogging for over a year! Ahhh! It makes me so happy. I thought I’d abandon the blog in about 2 weeks but I didn’t! I made it! At the start my writing and photos was awful. I was such a newbe! Now I look at it and just see slopping posts. At that point I had about 17 views a week and now it is 400 hundred? It never ceases to amazing me and here is a photo for every month I have been blogging (13). See yourself my improvement. And I hope to see you next year with another post like this! So I broke up a few days ago and here are my tips to having a better SSO summer!
1. Take your laptop outside. - This allows you to get some fresh air and vitamins while playing on your laptop! 2. Don’t log on until you have had breakfast and are dressed. - We all don’t do it, okay. 3. Fill up a water bottle to use by your laptop. If you are like me, fill up a litre one and make sure you drink all of that before about 3pm. Then do the same until you go to bed. 4. Eat healthy! - Don’t just rush into the kitchen and grab some sweets! You’ll be surprised how nice a peach or some vegetable sticks are. 5. I’d say keep sso to a max of four hours a day. Taking breaks every half an hour. There we are, 5 tips, because that was all I could think of. Have a good summer! This is slightly different than promised. However, I believe it is better then nothing! I use Fotor to give my photos a rounded border. This makes it look a little nicer. When you click on post options, there is lots of other options. One of these options is to schedule the time off your post. This is useful if you are going on holiday. This setting allows you to control who comments on your post. This will only change the setting for one post read on to find out how to change it for one of your posts. Click on settings and then blocg. You will find lots of options on that you do with your blog. I'd say your book is now ready for friends and family to read!
Another month, another set of favorite things that I have been loving! So what was it this month? Well: This month my favorite top has been this one. This top comes with your real Star Stable top that you wear in real life. You have to buy it and guess what my sisters got me… I loved it! However, after my birthday in April it was thrown in my wardrobe and forgotten about. it’s out again now and well loved! Recently I have been enjoying trying to make outfits that use more natural colours. So this saddle is perfect! It’s a really old saddle, the guard one, and I used to live in it as I had no other fast saddle. This month has had a lot of reappearances! This month I have been loving Steve’s paddock to hang out in with friends (mainly FR). It is the social hot spot of the server and I like to stand in the corner where I can get global chat and keep an eye on things. This month my favorite quests have been the spiders. I loved the sense of danger and I must admit I found them quite cute! Also it shows how much sso has been improved in the last 4 years and a lot. The riding hall races. My nightmare. I used to never be able to complete these races. They were to complex to remember and I would fail the jumps and everything would go wrong and Reed would laugh and cry. But it isn’t like that anymore and I’ve been spending a lot of time catching up with those races. My favorite NPC has been Landon as I have been spending a lot of time with him. I have been doing the midsummer quests everyday and he has been very nice and given my lots of rewards and thanks! Here are some of the stuff I have been loving this month. What have you been liking?

I've played Star Stable online since 1st June 2014 and I am currently a level 20 player on Cupcake Valley where I hang about with Frosty Roses and my 18 pixel horses! Disclaimer: All images and anything else to do with this blog are taken in the game Star Stable Online produced by Star Stable Entertainment AB. I have nothing to do with Star Stable and own none of their graphics. But I can tell you it is a great game and you should play it!
