I am so so so happy! Things are so good! I’m actually not going to post a load of photo because it isn’t needed.I love the new home stables apart from the fact that some of the rooms are bare. I hope you will eventually get to choose some furniture. As for upgrades, I’m keeping with just 12 places. I will make 4/6 of those spaces permanent for horses I ride regularly and the rest I will swap each day to allow each horse to have time in the home stable. I will choose 4/6 stalls all together somewhere s the permanent spots and I will post more when I have figured out where.
I love the stalls the most. Each horse has it’s own space and a hay net with food. If the home stables are like this, what will the new area be like? Talking about this new area… Jorvik City is coming next week! I can’t wait! The most of Jorvik City we have seen before is the school, mall and museum, so this is uncharted territory. I am very excited and I can not wait for the trailer. Big things have happened today but it cannot go public until Sunday, so you’ll have to see then. Night!

Once upon a time, this was all that there was to our beautiful map. There was no such thing as heading over in the ferry to Jarlahiem or going bone hunting in Dino Valley. It was all just the Silverglade area and today I want to take you through when all the areas came out!
2012 - this was the first area added to game in the Autumn and fitting this time of year it was called Golden Hills Valley and was available for level 12 upwards after you’d done the Riding Hall guard dog quests. This beautiful autumnal area captured the hearts of everyone who played at that time. 2013 - the Harvest Countries came out! This area was available for level 5 and over Star Riders. This area was the latest fashion with moving gates and horses that galloped around with no riders on. 2014 - an interview confirmed that the 2014 area would be Valley of the Hidden Dinosaur, leading on from previous quests with Nick Stoneground. You need to be level 15 plus but this area was never as popular as previous areas due to the fact that the fog got in the way! `Spring 2015 - the mall was opened. Many don’t count this as an area but it is. At first there was no new clothes and it was just all of the old clothes brought together into 3 shops. The escalators were of great fascination and it was the first SSO update that I couldn’t wait to play! November 2015 - Epona was coming! It was the night of my speaking competition so I missed it which was sad but the compass quests and GED was so exciting and New Hillcrest is just the most realistic place on the map! Spring 2016 - South Hoof hit the shores of Jorvik, or rather the ships did when the lighthouse went out. The wild horses over here really were exciting and many a wild role-play will be located there. Winter 2016 - the alleged Jorvik City will be revealed... The new home stable trailer! It looks so good, I can’t wait. I’ll be spending more time in there as it is becoming a bigger my cosy area. I like to hang out and chat to friends so something like that is perfect! So there are two rows of stalls, one per horse. I’m guessing that one of these rows you will add boxes on when you pay to expand your stable. Then there is a wash area near your wardrobe (possibly down the end). There are two ‘box like’ rooms which seem to be for riders that has a window out onto the main stable and one for tack. One the first clip you can see two boxes with doors, so it might be in them. I hope that you can use some of these things and that they aren’t just for show. There is also a feed room! This feels a lot more like a stable that someone would own in real life, so that’s amazing! I can’t wait but I just hope that you can do simple things like sit at the stable. Also, I hope that something happens to the stables around Jorvik or the home stables move locations, else the sizing doesn’t work.
What do you think? The stone circle felt very strange. It had a tension, a cold tension, like you were constantly waiting for something to happen. The harsh pink light was blinding as it contrasted so much to the foggy confused sky. Below a small white creature starred hard at 2 boys and a girl.
“So, Faro, you thought it would be funny to ask a new servant girl to try magic?” Fripp asked, danger in his voice. “Yes Fripp.” “But, this child is known to you. She is your sister?” “Yes Fripp.” “What is your name child and which clan do you originate from?” “I’m Cythia, servant of Valedale, ex member of Jarlaheim.” “What a long name for a small girl. Well Cythia, I must say I am surprised that you didn’t join our clan.” “Avalon, what do you think we should do?” “Well Fripp, it is clear to me that she has the power of lightning, like her brother and I don’t see why we shouldn’t put her to the test.” Avalon spoke. “Ah, the final test tonight with all of the other initiates?” Fripp replied. “Yes” I stood, feeling stupid next in line to do a challenge. I would be last but I felt at a disadvantage since everyone else had training. I think Faro must have been a natural for anyone to put this much faith in me. They called me up, but they only said Cythia thank goodness. I came out into the arena and a monster met my eyes. It was a swirling mass of evil. Red eyes flashed out, their lights digging into the deepest places in my soul. All I had was the wand. I waved it, something happened. My palms were sweaty, I was finding it hard to draw in breath. Focus. It didn’t stop coming. I feigned stepping to the left and then launched to the right, putting my life in my feet. It was slow and didn’t catch up. Over the other side of the arena I collected myself. I was off the lightning? Lightning. I imagined a shield. Slowly I pulled the strands together, forming a cone around me. There was a door marked “exit”. I laughed. That was all you had to do? Out I walked. I was finally home. Hello everyone! My name is Caitlin Lightlake, and I am a club leader of the amazing Frosty Roses ( just call me Cait). I have been considering starting my own blog for a while, and I love to talk about SSO weather it be clubs, thoughts about features or theories about future/upcoming updates. When I saw Li was looking for a guest blogger I took a chance and asked sweetly(; if I could take the role. So here I am! As we all know, this winter Star Stable will be bringing a new area to Jorvik. We have only had two teasers so far, and very little information on the area, so a lot has been left to the imagination! The only two possible areas to open on the current map are the Mountains of Jor, and the area behind Northlink/ GHV. After a little digging in the files, I found a rather large clue to what the area will be: Jorvik City, and obviously I was freaking out because we have been waiting for this area for so long. I think we may be able to get access to the Mall from the City, as we already know the mall is located somewhere within it. Which is really exciting because we will find out what it looks like outside, and I am super hyped so see how the game developers manage to create this area. Opening up Jorvik City also potentially opens up a huge door Story quest speaking, as previous story quests around level 16-17 led us the city where we get taken to the museum in Jorvik City by Godfrey to retrieve the Harp of Aideen so access to the City in my opinion could lead to the return of the 4th Soul Rider Anne from Pandoria. I think that the tram as seen in the teaser will be the method of transport around the city replacing trailers in this area. It's exciting to have a new method of getting round the game! The release of Jorvik City does not mean that SSO will open up the whole Mountains of Jor area, but when I heard about some windows people have been getting when they log in (About switching maps to go to Jorvik city and back to Fort Pinta, I think) I came up with a perhaps quite far fetched theory as to what will happen with the map. The map would have another section, where we would travel to Jorvik city and switch to this new map which would show the other half or middle part of the Island. It would be amazing to see some features of the rest of the island and a change from the corner we know so well. My second theory, coming from this window pop up glitch some players have been experiencing is that we travel to the City by bus, like the mall, however it would take us to an area and not the mall itself.
It would be awesome to hear some of your thoughts about this new area, and I do hope that it will be released in the next few weeks, after the Home stables of course! Name: Everglaze
First name: Eve Born: 2009 Breed: Lipizzan Story: Eve and her brother Marco were two foals born at Goldspere’s farm. They grew up there until they were 2 where Marco was sold to the Spanish Riding School in Vienna whereas Eve was sold to a seller in France where she was sold to a German called Gunther. Gunther training Eve to ride dressage - classic. He taught her many complex movements and at 6.2hh she looked magnificent. She always learnt fast and performed perfectly. She won several shows but Gunther often left her alone for his Quarter horses Gunther returned to Jorvik with Eve deciding to sell her because he had plenty of horses. He sold her to the market at New Hillcrest who paid extra for her training. Waiting at the market to be bought isn’t nice. Each day some girl from the town came and mucked out the stables and fed them. A boy did the same in the mornings and that was all the care they got. However, Eve only had to wait 3 days as soon I came along and I knew I just had to add her to my family! She is bright and cheerful while being very picky, she hates doing anything that isn’t perfect. She also likes having her own stall very much as she likes her personal space! I have been meaning to do one for Eve forever and now I need to do one for Chip - my Mustang. Today I had the speaking competition that I have bee preparing for the last 2 weeks for! It was lots of fun and I was shaking so badly but I managed to go it without many major mistakes. I had the main speaker 6 minute speech and Aleksandrina Shyforest had a the Chair person 2 minute speech (team captain) whilst another friend had the final 2 minute speech. But we won! We are now through to the district competition which will take place in January/ December.
While I was training Westchip, I came realized that I thought it would be cool to share my training route. My house stable is at Silverglade Equestrian centre and I like this route because I feel like I train quickly on it. Also, if I have more time it is fine to do without trailers and if I can’t be bothered, trailers are also available. I, actually, don’t enjoy reading other peoples training routes unless I am looking for a new one, so unless you are I understand and sympathies if you are going to skip it, I will have a ‘proper’ post tomorrow! 1. Start at SGEC 2. Marley’s 3. Steve’s 4. Moorland 5. Fort Pinta 6. Ferry to South Hoof 7. Hermit 8. Over the bridge to NHC 9. Epona races 10. Trailer to Goldsperes 11. Ride to the harbour race 12. Paddock Island 13. Jorvik Stable 14. Ferry to GHV 15. GHV races 16. Riding hall 17. Call for a pick up 18. SGEC races 19. Balloon to dino valley and dino valley race 20. Rabbit race 21. Mill race 22. Hollow woods 23. Lake 24. Pole bending 25. Firgrove I thought I’d share as I was looking for a good training route from the equestrian centre for a while because there isn’t many around. I like to sometimes change it up as you can start anywhere and then just call for a pick up from Firgrove to the equestrian centre and I quick like to change it up! I told you that it would be called meet the mustangs! The update took a while so my plans of getting it written before I went out climbing went down the plug hole! However, while on a very hard piece of the balance wall, I was planning this blog post and suddenly found my Dad cheering as I was nearly at the top! But first, about the mustangs: ★ What's the new breed? The fierce Mustang! ★ Where can I get them? You’ll find them at Marley’s Farm in Silverglade. ★ How much do they cost? 969 Star Coins. ★ What level do I have to be? You can purchase these handsome fellas from level 7! ★ Do I need to crunch reputation? No reputation crunching needed! ★ What colors can I choose from? Black, bay and a brown pinto. ★ How do I get the horse to buck? Like the Lipi, the Mustang has its own special movement! Simply mount your Mustang, stand still and hit “space” on your keyboard to turn your calm companion into a bucking bronco! I really like the brown one and the pinto. Some people were complaining about their face shape, with is odd but kind of cute! Others were complaining that it was too matt but since I spend all my time complaining about them being too shiny, I was fine. I am not so keen on the black as the many blends into the body, also it is too black with no blaze or pattern to brake it up. I was a bit worried about their manes, but they look really nice if you purchase a new one. So yes, I got the pinta on and called it Westchip aka Chip and I then made my sister care for all of my horses in return for me going on hers and buying a brown one! I really like the buck and here as some photos of myself and Chip! #MustangMadness New clothes also game out today along with the brand new graphics! I really liked the new clothes as they had the style of newer ones while still being realistic. They are perfect for the riding lessons that I run and I can’t choose a favourite - I want them all. But I can say that the brown jacket and helmet and the blue helmet are my favourites. My sister got the hat and while we were admiring it we also saw the brand new graphics which included brushing your leg and turning your head!
About 3 months ago I added the idea of points to FR. I wanted to add this idea because I wanted something to give to people who won events rather then just a ‘Well done’. I also wanted people who tried hard and went out of their way to make events to be given some recognition, and so I made (with help) this point system. Here is your guide to making a point system:
1. Think about what people will get points for. In FR it is mainly for trying hard at events, coming to events and winning events. In smaller clubs you might have things for buying uniform or maybe people get points if they learn the club dressage routine…? 2. Now think about how and where you will display points. In a small club you could do it in club information but in a big one you could do it on a website. I found that just posting the winner isn’t good enough as people like to know where they were. 3. How will sending in points work? Will people send in a form, mail you, message you? I find the form easiest as has all the instructions there and it forces people to give all of the information. 4. How will you count points? I normally go through each thing and write their name and do a tally of points next to it. That way it is very visual and hard to make a mistake. 5. Finally, I type it all up onto the website and edit the certificate. I just thought I would start a ‘club guide’ series! Well I’ll tell you what is happening in FR at the moment, lots of excitement about the Mustangs. They are coming tomorrow and I can’t wait. I have the title in my head for it tomorrow ‘Meet my mustang’! Hahaha! See you then! Today was the release of the Mustang trailer! I’m really hyped. I really like both of the colours that have been released so far, brown and a broken coloured one with black, white and brown. All my close friends will know that I have been begging for one that was broken coloured, so I think I may be taking that one home! Unless of course the third is even prettier… They look like quite small horses but they have the new animations. I really like the buck but suspect that they will cost a King’s ransom. Ah well, it’s never stopped me before! It has been almost a year. Tomorrow I turn 15. You are wondering what has happened? Well I have been training to serve the Valedale clan as a servant. I know how to prepare cauldron and how to collect the tears of Aideen without spoiling them. I also know how to cook and clean. Today all the Overs leave for the clans and say goodbye to to Unders who will stay at the Fort forever. There are 6 of us going to Valedale and we are all given brown full length tunics.
The last time I traveled away from Fort Pinta I went West to the Wood, this time we are going North to Valedale. I can feel it getting colder as we go up Northi and the six of us have hugged together. We arrived, nursing frozen fingers, to the preparations for Greetings day. Most of the clans children will become full members of the clans tomorrow and will be able to work and marry. We can’t. I sit there, fiddling with my tunic whilst everyone else is given jobs to do. “You, girl, collect the rune wands from the stone circle. it’s up the hill,” a tall man cried. I found the hill and I found the wands, they were hidden under the rocks as we were taught they would be. I carried them down, careful to keep them in their velvet and resting on my arms: wouldn’t want them to snap. I stopped. I couldn’t resist it, could I? Waving a wand in front of a rune stone could tell if you had the talent. Not many do and so the Valedale clan have the most failures of people who shouldn’t have joined. It is myth that Aideen visits the right people in their dreams, but the only time I have dreamt about Aideen was in a nightmare. I pick a long one, a beginners wand. I carefully wave it around. Nothing. And then light. It hurts my eyes and it’s everywhere. Two people are already at the top of the hill. “What are you doing?” one yells while the other grabs me. “Calm down Faro, she’s new.” “In the name of Jor Avalon, the rune is lit up. Fripp needs to know.” “Who are you?” Avalon asks calmly, “I don’t mean your number, I want your real name.” “Cythia, servant of Valedale, ex member of Jarlaheim,” I trembled. Faro starred, “Cyth?” “Faro do you know her?” Faro was as white as a sheet and whispered something that involved “sister”. “And that would explain the rune wouldn’t it? We should tell Fripp but we told her to do it. I know siblings like getting each other in trouble but using a rune wand can result in serious consequences.” We walked up to the portal and fell through. It has to explain but it felt like time and space were changing and squeezing and then letting go, before taking the iron grip again. Then we arrived. I was thinking today and a question came to mind. What is my aim in playing SSO? I thought that it was a very interesting question and so I decided to pursue it further.
So what is my aim? Well, one of my aims is to develop myself as a writer, through my blog but via SSO. I really enjoy writing but for some reason I prefer to write under a ‘under cover’ name (sending out hints for my next fanfic). My aims for the blog are to keep it going and to finish Cyth’s choice. Quick news about my fanfics. Obviously one is uploaded every Sunday and there will be 3 more parts of Cyth’s choice before moving onto a Star Stable spy series! But that isn’t in SSO. One goal I have is to help the atmosphere. There are so many poisonous comments and people who just like proving others wrong and having a go at them. I like to try and keep this at a minimum without getting too involved. I also have the goal of unlocking Epona on my second account, which would be amazing to do those quests all over again. Also doing the main missions would be great. But on SSO I mainly exist to have fun with friends and the only serious paths are co owning a club and blogging. SSO, for me, is just a place to chill while failing to ride around on your horse. Ps. I am looking for guest blogger. A guest blogger would write a post on my blog every 2/3 weeks. You need to have time to write in quality and quantity. I think you would mainly be doing reviews, but I am open to any other ideas. If you are interested please contact me @allaria.sso or if you don’t have Instagram [email protected] I was watching this little video when I got home on Friday. I have a cold coming on and my throat is burning so I need to get to bed. But this really cheered me up! I am starting to do my dailies in game since I always seem to be low on Jorvik Shillings, his is actually a very good idea since it is something useful that I can do while talking to the club. I thought that I want some of the bugs in game! Like the one where the horses was facing up and the rider was between the legs, or the one when everything had no colour. I just think that they are really cool variations to the game. Just a quick reminder to players, please to not purposely exploit any bugs. Sometimes it happens by accident, for example I was taking photos of Epona before it came out from the GED site and I literally fell in Epona. I just called for a pick up and contacted support explaining. But the people lag in, find a bug to go fast, it isn’t okay and can disrupt others game experience.. evil’s gap. Right at the start of the game we are told to check the Devil’s gap gates and then it is locked as soon as you finish the quest. It is quite a small misty mountainous area in the middle of the North Harvest Countries. The music, the fog and the name (you can’t call something Devil without it being sinister, and no, that is not a challenge) all suggest that it isn’t somewhere where our characters want to be. But I have another theory. Who knows who Evelyn is? Evelyn was the mayor of Jarlaheim but she went to GEDs new mine in the mountains. The only mountains around that area is Devil’s gap. So GED mine in Devil’s gap and someone - Evelyn - has disappeared there. So there is something very bad in there… I really want this set of quests to continue, I want to find out what has happened to Evelyn!
Happy update day! There was a small debate in the club this morning to whether home stables were this week or on the 30th. I wasn’t sure and now I know that the brand new home stables will be coming out on the 30th. I am very excited and Star Stable released a sneak peak but first let’s look at the two main new features, shadows and 12 buckets. I think the shadows are really pretty and I was wondering if they would ever update them! I love the detail such as if you change clothing, the shadow changes also. The 12 buckets are certainly going to help me with the “No stable care” challenge that I want to try. There will of course be 12 because of the 12 horses in the brand new home stables. I am not that excited about these new clothes, but I think the orange and black top will make excellent club uniform for any club that wants to be orange! I also quite like the hat but for the others I either don’t like the colours or the style, fussy me. Newscaster Alva hosted Jorvik news again, this time we saw the brand new home stables. I love them so so much and I am super excited! I am wondering if they will be in a new place because the home stables was opening out onto a different place then the normal home stables opens out, but that could have been just for the demo. Some people have been getting annoyed because SSO hasn’t released home stables this week, but they never promised that they would so chill out and let SSO work on all the amazing things they have planned instead of dealing with hate, thanks.
Did you notice this today? Star Stable has released a video of Matilda learning dressage with Tobbe. I really want to do this kind of dressage, but I’m sure doing it is easier then training the horses! I really like the way that Star Stable is adding in more real life riding aspects to the community (although I would prefer it if they were added to the game)! Today I wanted to answer 8 questions that I get asked. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!
How have you kept blogging for this long and how do you motivate yourself to write posts? I really enjoy blogging and writing and it is something I look forward to so why would I ever give up? I enjoy it and that is the best motivation out there! How do you balance SSO/blogging and real life? Good time management. I make a list of everything I want to do that day and then number it in order of how important it is and then work though it in that order! Why did you start playing SSO? I saw an advert on YouTube in Summer 2014 and I loved horses and gaming, so I thought why not! What’s your favourite horse breed? Definitely Arabian or Lipi Do you ride realistically or like the normal SSO player? The normal player, too lazy for anything else. When did you start fanfics? When I was 5 I used to ‘write’ them in my head, going over stories about how I would be on the TV and things. When I was 7, I went to Hogwarts and then I was in Lord of the Rings. Soon other characters started to go places and now I didn’t go with them. I was other people. Maybe this is why I like drama so much because you get to be other people. Or maybe it is the other way around. I have always written fanfics about SSO in my head, and I think I always will! If you were a horse going to horse island, what would you bring? A vegetarian meal, my family, my laptop, phone and internet router. Would you accept a job for Star Stables? If I could do it from home then yes! I would be a bit of hesitant about moving to Sweden and at the moment I have other job plans. I have decided to make a new ’series’ of “What would I do if I was”. Obviously it will be Star Stable related! As you can tell today I am going to be the Baroness. The first thing I would do is go into the library and pour over all of the Jorvik books. I want to know everything about this plan, from it’s election system to it’s fairy stories! I would also make all of the book accessible to read, since I think that many of the people at the equestrian centre could use them. Then I would replace the old jumping track with a proper circuit and add a cross country complex to the centre (with a proper Sunken Road, Water complex, ect) before fixing up the dressage arena so that the arena is even. You may have noticed that the equestrian centre doesn’t have a championship? Well from now on it will have riding championships every night at 7pm. Monday - Dressage Tuesday - Jumping circuit Wednesday - Pony jumping circuit Thursday - Cross County Friday - Dressage Saturday - Jumping circuit Sunday - Cross country All of this will of course be on the brand new faculties! Also all of the young riders around Jorvik could audition to become a Silverglade Star - a member of the Silverglade equestrian team. Few will make it but those who do must race agains the Bobcats and he other teams of Jorvik!
I think the equestrian centre has a lot of promise! Maybe this was in a strange format but you can see what I would love to see there, however I doubt that this will happen. But one can always dream! For shook his head, “I cannot believe that you of all people failed your initiation on day one.”
I stayed silent. What can you say to that? I have tried telling him that there was a noise but he acts like he’s heard it all before. Maybe you think that this is an over reaction? Well 2 horses were killed by wolves and I wasn’t there is help Nina. So now I’m going to Fort Pinta, where all the failures go. Arrival at the fort was very different to a couple of days ago. The gates were closed and Fok pulled me out of the cart keeping a tight hold of my wrist. The sun was a beautiful gleaming red and I took a good look at it as I suspected I wouldn’t be seeing it again. A tall thin woman came to the door, she grabbed my hand a pulled me inside. We went into the basement. There was a small cold room with a bathtub. She pulled off my tunic and pushed me into the bath where she cut my hair, short, before drowning me is ice water. Dried and dressed in an old tunic, she led me through to a big room where hundreds of boys and girls were just waking up. “You’re 2234,” she told me as she put a robe with the number attached around my neck, “you live here now. I am sure you had plenty to eat last night so you won’t need breakfast or supper today.” Then she just left me in this room of strong children. “Hi. I’m Karlos. I was a initiate for the Silverglade clan but I didn’t get a spot, so I cam here,” a large 16 year old boy told me. “Where is here,” I asked. “The Fort. It’s where you go if you can’t fit in. You’ll spend your first morning with the Unders, that’s the people with the brown cords. At the end of the day you’ll have a test to see if you’ll be able to be an Over. We are going to go back to one of the clans and help out. I am going to the Firgrove clan, hence the colour of my chord.” It turned out a morning with the Unders involved a lot of cleaning the stone floors. The Fort was huge and there was a lot to clean and it so happened that we had to do it EVERYDAY. I hoped very much that I could become an Over. The Test. I stood in a room for ages while a group of men and women discussed how I had acted today. Slowly one of them turned to face me. Slowly she opened her mouth. Slowly she said “Here is your pink cord, you will be working towards being a servant for the Valedale Clan.” Valedale Clan. Faro. My brother. It’s been a good non productive day! In the morning I tried out fencing. Honestly, because I was new, the person I was fencing was clearly not trying which was kind of dull. When I got home, I felt like doing something on my second account. So I logged on and did some quests and training! Next I got to watch the amazing video of the new Mustang! I love their buck and I am pretty sure I will be buying one. Then it was time to do some Frosty Roses website cultivating before logging on for the lesson. I was running it and I’m not a Cross Country rider but I think it went okay considering I didn’t really have a clue what I was doing! Then it was time for the event, which I filmed rather then joining in. It was are to get Lily out of the Home Stable. Finally, I was able to edit up the video of the event and upload it to YouTube: |
