Happy Halloween everyone! I am not in a Halloween mood so my post isn’t Halloween themed. Honestly, I just got bit annoyed at 6 year olds trying to scare me and me having to pretend I care… Tehehehehehe! Ok, well I didn’t have time yesterday to talk about the appearance change that’s happening with our characters tomorrow. Here it is: Many people don’t seem to be able to see the difference, open your eyes lads, it’s pretty obvious. The neck is shorter, which I like. I’ve never noticed a big neck before but I think shortening it will make things like scarfs easier to bring out. One of my friends really doesn’t like the new nose. It is more defined than the previous one, which personally I don’t mind but I think will really bug some people. The eyes seem more detailed but THEY TAKE UP THE WHOLE DAMN FACE?! She’s not an alien for god’s sake! I also think that the new fad shape looks like a mouse cross weasel so that’s fun. It might, however, look really good in game, so we shall see for tomorrow to whether or not I go on full blown rant. Change does take time to get used to, but it still might be that I hate it in a few weeks or I’ll get used to it and like it. This is meant to bring new clothes & hair styles (hoping for dutch braids) which is cool. One last thing… I didn’t know we were getting rid of the elbows…

What if Star Stables was about unicorns attacking Garnok and we had to defend Garnok? OK BYE I'M OFF TO BED!
When I was doing the Hallowe'en quests with the pumpkin lady, instead of focusing on the quests I was looking at her top: I think that it just looks really nice and casual and I really want it in game. There are so many nice clothes on NPCs but not so many available for us. I think it's because SSO know whether or not the clothes look good on NPCs but maybe they don't think it through so well with us? Ah well! Do you have any wishful clothes for SSO to add to the game?
Despite the fact that most of my four was on the road in front of my, the corner of my eye caught the nervous movements of Arwen’s horse. I carefully stretched my hand out towards the poor thing, to comfort it. My own horse, Shade, was carefully checking that Arwen’s horse (ironically called Bravery) was ok. The wind tugged at our clothing, causing my ill-fitting top to hang off me even more than normal. Mum had tried her best this Halloween, sewing on a skeleton shape to one of my old tops and buying temporary hair die to match my worm through trousers. Even “my” horse was borrowed from Arwen who, despite her flaws, was probably the best friend I could ever hope for.
Arwen. What a puzzel. You could describe her as rich, generous, selfish, self-centred, devilish, thoughtful and many more oxymorons. Maybe Shakespeare could even draw inspiration from the personalities of one little teenager. New clothes were wrapped around her chocolate fudge coloured skin with her equally new cat trotting along in front of her. It was her fault that we were here anyway. Every year her dad sets up a ghost town for the people of Jorvik to come and experience. However, it’s closed. An open ghost town? Scary. A closed ghost town? Petrifying beyond the definition of the world. And yet we were here, hunting the legend of the Mist. Maybe that’s another word I could have used to describe Arwen? Magical. In the Jorvik sense anyway. Arwen’s riches came from her family’s long standing connections to the druids. In return for their magical services, they could - A tickling had begun on my hand, the one holding Shade’s robe. It felt that hundreds, no thousands, of bugs tickling their way across my skin. CREEK! The windmill had jerked into life. Blades rotating through the air like axes through the night. The lights in one of the houses flickered on, the light burning and intense through the dark. I felt my breath quickening, my head fluttering. The sky came to life. Bats folded out of the night towards us. All was quiet. The town had taken its fill so it hid itself back into the night. Ever wondered how scarecrow hill came to be? I’m so sorry I haven’t been posting much. Honestly, family visits & illness are literally making it impossible. Hopefully a post tomorrow? Ugh, it makes me SO MAD! See you soon, I miss blogging, OH WHY LIFE?!
Hello, it’s Li and finally it’s time for the Hallowe’en update. I don’t really celebrate Hallowe’en in the real world but I do love the celebrations in game. As promised by SSO, this year we had lots of new cool stuff, as well as some seasonal favourites returning, so without further a-do let’s hop into the game. That was the first thing I saw logging in and I love it so damn much! It’s maybe not too much like the actual game but it’s still a really cute picture and I can certainly see a little story coming off of it… Possibly coming to the blog in the new few days? Eve’s sister decided to turn up, called Fae. They’re twins and actually remind me of my own two younger sisters (who are also twins). My sisters are called Emma and Fay, which is scarily similar actually! The quests basically involved picking up bits of material (that looked like toilet roll) from around Jorvik, including the toilet roll race! This toilet roll was put together to form this mummy outfit, it looks quite cool, I like the way all of the pieces blend together to form one outfit but it’s not something I would actually wear! This year, the difference was the ability to change your horses colour and stuff. There were six effects. three that could only be seen by you (fire, bats and darkness) and three that can be seen by everyone (zombie, mummy and skeleton). The cheapest are the private ones, which can be bought separately by 5 sc but it can rage right into the hundreds of sc for 15 public ones. I don’t really think it’s worth it if I’m honest. I tested some on my alt account: I actually prefer the ones that can’t be seen by anyone else. I like the way that rather than looking funny, like April Fool day, they actually add an air of spookiness to the horse. New year I hope for everyone to be able to see these and there to be more. The shop looks good, I like it. It’s the “mall style” but you can change the camera angle like you would normally, allowing for more adjustments. Also, you can zoom in and out which just allows for more detail to be shown - of course, it also happens to have an ultra cool Halloween theme. This year, the shop is selling things from previous years, including the Galloper Thomas top. It also has a brand new mummy outfit to match the magic horse and the outfit you get in quests. Personally, I’m not into it but I think others may be. There were also loads of masks. From Fripp, to druids, to Steve, you could get so many masks. Most cost around 150 js, but here are the ‘special’ ones that cost a lot more. I must say, I love all of the special ones and most of the other ones! Finally, this year the apple bobbing hasn’t yet appeared. I love the apple bobbing because you get lots of cool stuff with very little work. Will it appear later on next week along with the ghost train? Let’s hope so. I love the mix of old and new things to make a really good Halloween, once the apple bobbing is back, everything will be perfect!
Yesterday, SSO released an article telling us about lots of exciting things coming in game. It’s always nice to see that we haven’t been forgotten about and to be told things that are coming up! The article covered the following things: - New thing at Halloween & Christmas - Animations - Clothes - Hairstyles - Running pets - Horses - New area So I’m going to break each one down and talk about it. This is going to be quite a wordy post because SSO have given us only a few photos, so get yourself a hot drink, warm blanket and settle down to read. SSO have said that they’ll be adding new features to the holiday celebrating, but also keeping some old ones. I think that this is cool because I love tradition, but I don’t look forward to Christmas and Halloween quests anymore, as there is nothing exciting about them. We should get to see the new things happening at Halloween soon and SSO have left us with the little teaser of “For instance, we know there’s a rumour circulating that a mummy has been sighted on the island of Jorvik… “. I hope that it will be like Galloper Thomas was last year because that really was awesome! New animations. I don’t really like the current animations at all because they make taking photos really hard. I’d like to be able to customise the animations a little more but I doubt that will happen. So, I hope the new animations will be more realistic and make the whole experience of the game better. Of course, new clothes. There was a time when SSO released new clothes every week and because of that, new clothes don’t excite me anymore. Their weekly release have pretty much made new clothes an expected thing that is bound to happen with each update - even though it doesn’t anymore. Oh well, they might be nice. NEW HAIR! I am quite excited about this because we haven’t had new hairstyles of a very long time. I am hoping for a messy bun or a half up half down hair style, or French/ Dutch braids. Anything really that is a bit more “on trend” than the current hairstyles that sit in the horse salons. I like the idea of running pets but I’m not sure if they’re for me. I don’t really use my squirrel pet and they’ll probably be very expensive. But a very wise man (aka Professor Dumbledore) once said “don’t count your owls until they are delivered” so I will wait and see if I like them first! Apparently SSO will be releasing a horse that everyone has wanted. The only horses I currently want are Shetland ponies, but I don’t think they’re that popular to come out (due to being a pony). So, I guess, that it may be something that I have never heard of before? I hope that it doesn’t have a plastic look. New area? Well, I would have been excited but right now I’m actually quite sad. It’s had its name changed to “Mistfall” and now looks covered in mist. The mist really ruined Dino valley and I think it will ruin Mistfall too. I just hope that there isn’t mist everywhere. SSO are back to their old name changing tricks, May to Maya, Firfall to Mistfall. And no, I don’t think it’s because “players glitches in”. Here are some pictures: As I said, if there’s mist everywhere, like in Dino Valley, I think that it will be ruined. All of these pictures have mist in so we may be out of luck. However, if the mist is only in some places, maybe confined to the woods, it will be ok. Also, it will be released in 3 parts. I’m not sure how I feel about this. If they release the parts quickly, I don’t mind. However, if it takes 3 years to bring out the one area, I will not like it. I hope that the parts aren’t too small as well, but I think they’ll be about GHV size. I’m going to write a mail to SSO support about there not being mist everywhere and I’d urge everyone else to as well if they agree with me! What do you think about the new area?
I am still feeling ill so I hope to catch you tomorrow, I hate not feeling up to writing.
Ok, well here it is, a detailed review of (MAJOR SPOILERS COMING) the area under the Stone Vault. I really really relayed loved it, especially after I predicted a similar area just a few posts ago! The way this is going to work, is I’m going to talk about each of the different areas within the room one at a time. I loved the area of there being places to read in a very formal manor, and also to practise magic. I’m not so sure how Fripp reaches them, so I presume they are used for druids. In this photo, I’d also like to talk about the general room. I love the way it’s made from stone with wood everywhere and lots of levels. Fripp is basically a magical squirrel so this really reflects his personality! The magic aspect is from the pandoric stones that you can see around and about. The books are amazing. I love the way that he has several old titles books and then some more modern day ones. Well, everyone needs to be widely read! I wish we could actually read the books… This is such a cosy little area. You can see Elizabeth coming in here and talking to Fripp while having some food. There’s a map on the wall, so I wonder what that’s about. Of course, the table has a book open - even eating isn’t an excuse for not reading! Definitely the place where Fripp makes his potions. I can just see him hopping between the desks with a bottle in his teeth, mixing up something to make Justin tell the truth… I loved this. I think it sets of the room perfectly. Druids (as in the religion) are very into stars so I like to think that this sky is like the sky in the Hogwarts Great Hall and it changes as the stars change, which helps Fripp map them and predict upcoming events. Aw Fripp. He’s sleeping in a tree which shows his true squirrelness! The bed looks so comfy and the pillows are perfect. I think that the blanket was Elizabeth’s idea though because it doesn’t really match the rest of the room - definitely something Elizabeth is into.
I loved the room so much. What was your favourite part of it? NEW DRUID QUESTS! This was so unexpected for me and I guess everyone else (although Esme Silverforce did mention a theory about Ylva’s hair turning pink…). But it was cool anyway. As I said briefly in the last post, I’m not 100% right now so I have only completed day one of quests (which I’m currently editing). However, my delightful sister has told me that you only enter Pandoria once, so here are some images of my fun in Pandoria. I loved it as always, but wasn’t it so hard to find your way out of? Do tell me I wasn’t the only one who got COMPLETELY lost! I really LOVED Fripp’s room underneath the Stone Circle. I hope to have a full review on the room up tomorrow because I can’t go into enough detail here. I wasn’t so sure on the character Evergray. I didn’t feel that he was a druid at all and I wish that SSO had made him more druid-y. He is still a druid even though he got kicked out, especially as his brother is as all (Avalon and Evergray being brothers was an amazing plot twist). I think, however, that his outfit was wonderfully detailed and he had a lot of character - which was great. The whole magic at Guardian’s Dale was so cool. I loved the idea of the four soul horses coming together to light the thing up, but I really want to know about the fifth. Where do we stand in it? I think my starter horse, Lovemagic, is currently praying for a statue to be made in name of him! My horse is almost as vain as me. I haven’t finished the quests yet, so I’ll go into more detail sometime next week when it’s all together.
One final thing, I loved the new druid outfit. My sisters look amazing in theirs, Eva in brown and Bella in Green. I love the tack and I love the whole concept - if it wasn’t so darn expensive! I shall not be buying it, but I really do love it anyway. Hi. No posts. I have been feeling very ill. I hope to write tomorrow as I really miss it!
I was doing some quests on a friends account, unlocking Epona, and look what came up: I really want Broken Tooth to come out and this shows that SSO still know that it exists! Honestly, it would just be such a sun update to maybe help Freja Sunfield with her homework in exploring a new place and, so, to unlock it! Or maybe we could actually find ghosts their and help them like how we helped the ghosts in Firgrove. The fact that the person says burned out house makes me think that were was a fire so maybe someone died?I don't know, but the island must be missing having people on it so I hope that it comes at some point!
If you could have any area on SSO, what would it be? Well, this is mine:
If I had to design a new area, it would certainly be inspired by the main story line. I’d want the area to be through the gate at the secret stone circle and it would be a place of magic. From the stone circle, we see the purple mist and grey stone which is actually a glamour, cast and kept by the spirits of druids who will guard the gates into their precious land forever. Once you have gotten past the druids (you must answer a question about Aideen to prove that you aren’t a supporter of Garnok) the mist clears into a forest whose trees are permanently covered in blossom. However, the blossom doesn’t fall from the trees, it falls up from the floor to the trees as the blossom is actually magic and the trees are smaller versions of primeval trees and they keep this part of the island alive. The area is divided into four parts with the stone circle at the centre. Each part is devoted to a different light power and you must complete a challenge of that power to get into it. For each area, there’s a circle, rather like the stone circle, for practising that area’s magic (so in the sun circles area you would practise sun circle magic). Normally, each person can only access one power as they only have one power, but our character can, of course, enter all four powers. Under the stone circle, in the centre, is actually a library in a cave. It’s possible for players to open and read these books which include things like instructions on performing magic, legends, Linda’s favourite copy of Peter Pan and much more. Deep underground, is the druid holding cells where we can see Justin in a cell, awaiting trial. It’s possible for us to make our home stable this area, but instead of it being like a normal home stable, it’s a load of trees twisted together to form a cover for our horses. When we’re in this area, our starters have wings and are able to fly between places as the magic is strong. Every day, there are dailies in each area to improve our reputation with that circle’s faction and ultimately to train us up enough to rescue Anne. Of course, the main breed of horses that enjoy wandering around here have magical elements. Most can fly or have strange colourings as they’re the soul horses of deceased soul riders and they have reached their full power. It’s possible to buy their decedents as, over the years, there are so many. The horses look normal outside of this area, but instead their true selves show. This area is called Maganima which comes from a mix of the phrase: magicae est anima mea, meaning “magic of the soul”. I'm so tired but before I go to bed, I wanted to share my speed edit. It's my first one and I quite like it and it was very fun to make! If you have a spare minute or two, it would be amazing if you could watch the video and possibly give it some attention (shameless self promo). Today I was training up my arabian and when I was in SH, I noticed that some of the landscape around it has changed to this: The fact that they're updating it means that it will be coming at soon. I think most likely before the end of the year. So in no more than 2.5 months, we'll be galloping around this brand new area! So what do we already know about it? Well, we're looking at this area here: That's the furthest South found of the new area. We can see a strip of sand and a hill or an island. Behind that are jagged cliffs and rocks that look impassable. This means that the area that we're seeing is probably the end of the area. However, it is set in the mountains so it's quite likely that we'll be able to be up mountains a lot (which is super good for me because I love to climb). The area looks very green and full of life, looking closer to South Hoof than Firgrove. Ah well, we'll see.
Don't expect any blog post tomorrow as I'll with some mates! This week they added the morgan only race. It's ok. I quite like the pole pending, and it's always cool to see the people in the stands. I'm happy that they didn't make the route too complex so that I can always remember it off by heart. I tend to be better at races like that rather than speed races haha. It's not that exciting though. i mean, it's just bog standard pole bending. Hopefully we'll get a bigger update soon? They're taken away star riders seeing the star in the corner of the screen. It didn't bug me at all when it was there but it's still quite nice to have a bit of a cleaner interface. I'm off to bed now - night!
CUPCAKE VALLEY IS OPEN! I REPEAT, CUPCAKE VALLEY IS OPEN! I am so happy right now! All of the Frosties and friends who were stuck on UF or CC, have now been able to move back to Cupcake Valley. Those of us who have been stuck on CV for a while, were so happy to see our old friends and to see SF full of life once again. It's sort of crazy because it's been shut so long that CV has been dead and now there's people at SF all of the time. Yes, it' lagged up the never a lot but it's worth it. FR has had 50 applications in the past two days alone. It's been very manic for me but as least everyone is back!
Today I thought I'd do a brief run through of my SSO accounts. These aren't them all but some I like to be private and others I don't ever use so they're not relevent.
The first is obviously Lisa Silentland. She is on Cupcake Valley, UK server, and she was my first account and I use her for my main SSO play, including questing, talking with my club and more. My next account is Christina Moonpeak. I made her to help me learn Swedish and she lives on Air Star, the first Swedish server. She doesn't get used as much as I'd like due to IRL. I felt very left out when some of my mates started hanging about on the NA servers so I made Meja Season. She is on Frost Valley, although I want her on Night Star when it opens. She's just there for social stuff I guess! Chiara Summerlund chills on Spring Star because I got bored and wanted something to do. So she sits there having fun and lets me practice Finnish... Ok, I can't speak Finnish. Maybe my most useful account is Zoe Macer who is on Blueberry Mountain. I use her for learning French which I think really helps me! Yesterday was a bit emotional for me. Every year, FR has taken a photo at the birthday cake for SSO's birthday. Every year since 2015 and jesus the club had changed. I'm not talking about the visual changes of more people, I'm talking about the actual players in the club. I'm talking about the club as a whole. 2015 was a very hard time for FR but on the 1st February 2016, we became a more stable club that didn't disband. On the 30th November 2016, I took over the running of FR. I want to make a video about this tomorrow because it was a very difficult time for myself and for the rest of the club. We now had the 'official owner' (me) and V, the old owner, in the same club, which didn't really work. We both were trying to own and it caused a lot of clashes between ourselves. On the 14th January, V made her own club, RR. 25 of FR member went to join and 25 stayed in FR - it truly was the dividing of the club. But since then some of those members have come back (I've been told that RR was an amazing club, but it had a short life due to various circumstances) and many many more amazing people have joined FR since. People that are now even leaders in the club. People who make up the very heart and soul of FR how we know it. And do I wish it had happened? I don't know. The testing of the sword makes is stronger and yes, it was hard. Yes, I wanted to give up. But I knew that at the end, everything would be good and I'm very happy to say I was right. I miss the old FR, but I think that everything happens for a reason and the 'newer' FR is the future and I love them very much. What I want to say is keep going and tell yourself that things WILL get better, I promise, they will.
