The 32 young riders had taken over the library to mark the start of the new year. When we arrived, the social statuses were clear. The older ones (who would have been in year 11 at school) sat at the tables and the boys (who had actually arrived on time) sat on the floor. We followed their lead and joined them on the floor (to much indignant muttering from Elysia).
Four girls/ women stood at the front. Oh my god! I could instantly recognise one of them, it was Reed Kessler. I screamed innerly at the honour of knowing that our show jumping would be taught by one of my riding idols. Reed had hazel eyes and long flowing hair and seemed such a contrast to the other three girls standing there. The other three girls all had bunches, two of them had brown ones and one of them had light blonde. They appeared the same size with the same stance. The ones with brown hair had matched expressions and appeared to be twins until you looked closer and saw one with brown eyes and one with green. Luckily, I recognised one of them as Tyra, the girl I had met previously. Tapping her foot, she waited for the other girls to sit down. As soon as Alex had poked herself down Try launched into speech. “For our first years welcome and to our second years, welcome back. I hope that you all had a good break and that you are ready to start up a new year here. For the first years, it is a particularly important term as each term the lowest scoring will be cut from the course.” I gasped although with the other first years. I did the maths quickly. Out of the current 16 first years (boys included) only 10 of us would remain. Tyra ignored us and continued. “As always, you have been split into groups based on your ability at each and level of schoolwork. Lily and Zak, can you hand out the timetables please and then you all can get to bed because I expect you up at 6 am,” Tyra finished with malice. Two people, I presumed Lily and Zak stood up. Lily stood first and you were blinded by her beauty. Off the shoulder top with leggings were in perfect keeping with her long waist length hair and perfect make up. Holding out her hand, she encouraged the shyer boy to stand. He messed up his already messy hair before pulling Lily into a tight hug as they walked towards Tyra. “Wow,” gasped Ali. Lily handed out the timetables to the boys and Zak to the girls. He smelt woodsy and… safe. His brown skin and brown eyes were soft and kind. “Don’t get any ideas,” Elysia hissed, “first, our Daddy’s know each other and second he’d never break up with Lily.” One of the girls standing near Tyra grinned, “OK enough fussing, off to bed it’s late and we need to talk to the second years. I’ll see you all in the stables at 6:30 tomorrow morning - sharp.” Lily smiled and whispered something to Zak who grinned back. What did they know that we didn’t? WELL HERE IT IS! It’s my birthday today so I wasn’t sure if I’d upload, but I did. Also what do you think about me uploading it on Friday’s as well? Let me know!

So recently I have been questing on Eleanor Ponygirl’s alt (only when I don’t feel like messing around with FR, obviously FR 100% comes first). I love going back and doing old quests and it feels great to have something to work to. Horses to train, levels to reach, REP, etc. It makes me remember why I love the game in the first place! Also it’s nice to have an account without people constantly wanting to talk to me. I don’t mind it most of the time but sometimes I just want to chill in front of my laptop! Anyway, it’s my birthday in about 10 minutes so Happy Birthday me!!
So, Firgrove. It’s new but is it better or not? Hm well I’ll start by saying it’s not awful before I go into much more detail but that there are still aspects about the old one I prefer. The view gives a good comparison but I’m going to talk about each new detail!
Lamps - I do like the new lamps. I think that they have more character and it just brings the heart of the town to life. Benches - It’s nice that the benches are a little bit more fancy and realistic, nice for photos. General buildings - This is probably where it goes wrong for me. I just don’t like the green roofs! I like the rest but the green roofs really are a large part of the area and it’s a part that (à mon avis) completely ruins it although this the unnatural blue windows. Plants - I love the window plants as they’re things we haven’t seen before (the wreaths particularly scream Firgrove at me). However, I’m not sure about the Fort Pinta touch with the blossom and the tall purple plants. It fells like they don’t it the area so well. Stables - Not a lot to say. I think that the stables are, however, the most “plasticy” thingy there. Town hall - I think that’s it’s nice FG has it’s own character to the club hall now but I don’t think it fits the village. I feel like the people of FG would gather in one of the big houses rather than a special hall with a red carpet. Cafe - Nice changes to the cafe! It now feels like a small family run business but I dislike the plastic blue windows. Fence and gates - I like the fence, it seems really nice and fencey (what was I meant to say about it?). I thought that the gates were lovely, I love the horse sculptures. Also the way that there are ladders really bring life into it and make it feel real. So there we are. FG wasn’t as bad as I thought since a lot of the buildings weren’t too cartoony but the green roofs, bright blue windows and stable ruined it for me. I’m also finally starting to feel better (hence why I had the energy to write this). So I’m off to bed ready for a productive day tomorrow! Editing the YouTube video is done but I’m still battling a cold so I’m sleeping while the YouTube video uploads so I can finally write about it tomorrow. We’ll just say that I love old FG although the new one isn’t all bad!
Hello! Little post from a very tired Li here. What do you think of FG? I don't want to judge it until I've seen it in the pixels so to speak. I will look tomorrow because I'm too tires after kayaking to log on tonight. Much sleepy love, Li.
Good bye Firgrove today I guess. I filmed it so that I can compare it with the new version tomorrow. I am not really looking forward to it although I hope that I will be pleasantly surprised! I’m not feeling great and I’m moody that I got told I had a translation assessment today and I didn’t. So I’m going to sleep because kayaking tomorrow (so so so excited) and I’ll see you all with my thoughts on Firgrove, night.
Hello there! Well I was doing my typical “let’s aimlessly canter around Jorvik while I speak to FR because I have nothing better to do” type thing while actually thinking of the god damn French revision waiting for me (J'apprends un peu de français). And in the galloping I came across a set of jumps in the Hollow Woods. I did now about this before but it got me thinking about tracks in game. One of the things I like about the riding hall is the opportunity to be creative. Make your own jumping course, make your own dressage routine. But when it comes to cross country (XC), there simply isn’t the same opportunity. Sure, you can sure Valedale lake or even the tracks I found in and around Hollow Woods. But they aren’t actual XC tracks and obstacles are they? There aren’t corners, combinations, water complexes, banks, drops, ditches and the rest. I really want SSO to add this to the game, what fun it would be!
A/N, hello it's me (as normal). Thank you very much for coming back and reading the second part of this - I'm very excited for it. Most of the characters that were made appear in this one although not all (the boys and older girls haven't appeared yet) so ya know. Thank you for the support with this so far and I hope that you enjoy!
I’d finally strewn my belongings neatly around the room. Having a photo of Jess, my adoptive Gran, on the desk really made it feel like home. I opened up my laptop and connected to the WiFI. I was worried that it would be slow and I wouldn’t be able to update my blog but it was probably faster than at home! I lay on my bed, reading a few of my friends posts from back home. I was really going to miss the UK but this had been my dream since I’d been to the Moorland Summer camp when I was 7. There was a rat-a-tat on the door. “Come in,” I called merrily. The door creaked open to reveal a sweet looking girl. “Hey, I’m Miya and I wa-th (was) th-ent (sent) to get you to meet everyone,” she lisped. “Ok, sure.” I followed her downstairs and through the door that I’d pointed out into the small living room which was covered in a disarray of two sofas, two chairs and two beanbags. Left with no other option, I plonked myself onto a bag and looked around at the seven other girls, two of which I’d met. “Hello everyone, I’m Olivia but call me Liv because my idiots of parents gave me a stupid name. So I thought we could all introduce ourselves so we ain’t living with strangers ya know? So ya, I’m Liv and I love riding and boy bands,” a girl medium sized girl with her hair in a ombre plait spoke. The next girl, sitting next to Olivia on the sofa started, “I’m Elysia Butterfield and I am from Epona and Daddy and Mummy work on the land there.” Ali and I exchanged glances at the girls sneering voice. Ali took up her turn to introduce herself and was quickly followed by Miya, the small girl with a lisp. Next, her room mate Isla introduced herself and based on her middle parting, simple ponytail and the way she spoke, you could tell she was very clever. It looked like she was sharing with Miya. Then it was my turn. “Hello, I’m Kate and I haven’t got a nickname,” Olivia grinned at me, “Oh and before anyone else asks, yes I am from the UK and yes, I have been to London.” Everyone laughed apart from Elysia who looked sulky that everyone had pretty much ignored her introduction. A familiar girl with waist length black dip dyed blue hair started to talk. “Hi, I’m Alicia Patterson, yes my Mother is Charlotte and I love riding and I hope that I’ll enjoy my time here,” she smiled unsurely. Elysia looked up and spoke for the first time since her introduction, “I like your hair,” she told Alicia smugly. “Oh… Thank you Elysia,” Alicia replied, keeping the warmth in her voice. Everyone remained quiet, waiting for the last person to start talking. When the small, flecked girl with a very short hair cut didn’t talk Olivia prompted: “Your turn.” Alicia, who was sitting next to me on a chair lent down and whispered, “I don’t know if she can talk, I haven’t got a word out of her since arriving.” Maybe Alicia was right because the final girl brought out her phone and started typing quickly before she passed it to Olivia who read it out: “Hello, I’m Alexa. Feel free to call me Alex. I like being me because it’s one of the best things I can do but I hate talking.” We all awkwardly smiled at Alex before Alicia broke the silence, damn how did that girl come across so lovely, “I’m sure it won’t matter, I think that our instructor Tyra will be very grateful to have one person at least who will be quiet in her talk.” And taking that cue, we all stood and made our way to the library where the talk would be held. Oh god… it’s time to meet the boys… Today was mostly spent on editing these two videos. I’m happy with the first one but not so much the second one - oh well. I need to get better at commentating, there was very little materiel to work with in the end just an hour of film. I loved the quests and I’ll talk about them under the videos (spoilers). Ok so I was a bit annoyed that we rescued Justin rather than finding Anne because I prefer Anne and I don’t give a damn about Justin. But the animations were very cool and my particular favourite was when we turned into the DC men. I enjoyed the flying horse bit but it seemed for convenient rather than likely if you ask me, but it still looked cool. The story line was a bit short for 15 months of waiting though. Just, hijack barge and save Justin from being eaten by sharks. But the animations were worth it! However, I know most people wanted to go to Pandoria to rescue Anne which they said we would do but in the future.
I’ve been working so hard today on the video of the story quests and it still isn’t done. I sort of like bits and I hate others and I think that it will be boring to watch but anyway. As I’m sure you have all been made aware of my now (due to the fact that social media has been screaming with it) SSO released a video today of the new Firgrove. Yes I’m sulking. If I got to protect two places in game against change, it would be Firgrove and West Cape because their old game look just adds to the character of the place (in my opinion). And I don’t think that the newer “plasticy” look would really suit them (again in my opinion). So it isn’t that I don’t like the new FG look thing that’s coming on Wednesday, it’s just I don’t like it for FG (does that make sense?). I’d prefer it if all of this creativity was channeled into a new area or redoing an area which actually needs it (cough, Steve’s) rather than an idea that looks fine, in my opinion. I don’t think I like it at all although the actually video was very cool to see the process that things go into the game. I mean, it’s pretty much what I imagined as I’ve done a bit of game design on Unity and so yes I’m obviously some kind of game making Ninja rather than an idiot who couldn’t do much more that make a mountain, with trees and an abandoned house and then add some code that let you fly around… YAY! But seeing it was still cool. If you haven’t seen it yet, Li out and watch the video! A while ago I started this blogging challenge so I thought that I’d continue it. It’s sort of a question/ answer type thing so here goes!
Five words that describe your personality? Oh hell, I hate these because I don’t want to seem big headed. Um ok right I’m going to be honest and if you think I’m big headed, too bad - glad I’m important enough to be in your thoughts. I’m quite clever, sarcastic, mature (sometimes), me (accurate and descriptive - I know) and creative (with writing, not like in an arty way). Three of your strengths and three of your weaknesses? Ffffffff I feel like I’m going to be so big headed but here goes. Strengths: - Empathy / understanding where people are coming from (even if I won’t admit I understand) - Leadership (something that has certainly been developed via SSO) - My real life studies (I like knowing stuff) Weaknesses: - Honesty (I lie before I even think about the fact I’m lying opps) - Admitting I’m wrong (hehe, not that I’m ever wrong) - Proof reading (what the hell is that?) Which character in Star Stable is most like you and your personality? Oh um er right so there’s two: - Madison because she spends lots of time lost in worlds of her own creation and I do too (although times in authors worlds). I never write down most of the stories that I tell myself to be honest. In fact, most of them! Also, she spends time gaming (same). - Linda because she’s the one who reads and stays out of the weird action - which I’d do. I hope you learned some stuff about me, for better or for worse, it was honest! Night. Well hi there. Story quests were today! Oh my god they were amazing and not a dissapointment at all. The animations were awesome, the quest line was awesome (although I’m not done yet) and I really can’t wait for tomorrow. I filmed the whole thing (which I will edit up tomorrow). So, yes, I basically love love love it so far and I’m excited to rescue Justin. I love how the quests involved you as well - but I’ll talk about the whole thing when I’m done!
Oh, my, God. I cannot wait! So, sorry to crush your dreams, but we aren't about to be able to buy flying horses in SSO (well I don't think so anyway). That wing most likely belongs to Anne's horse meaning... we will have Anne back! I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait. It's annoying that I climb on Wednesdays because I'll probably have time to play the quests but not to write about them... Struggles! One fun theory I've heard is that the Guardians Dale horses will come to life. Apparently, each horse has a symbol of each power on it... Wow, wouldn't that be amazing? SSO have posted an interview saying that they have been working on animations and I hope that they have because I really really really don't want to be disappointed by "static" quests. Oh well, let's wait for tomorrow!
So I've been working on this while I was away and I've already written parts one + two. It might move slower than some of my work in the past and will hopefully be a lot longer. It's about some people at Silverglade Equestrian center but I didn't make the characters - they were made by friends & followers so I hope that you enjoy and thank you very much to everyone who made a character. So full credit to the creators of the characters - Kate was made by me. (Not all characters will appear in the first part) Enjoy ESIT!
Finally, the van drew to a halt outside my new home - Silverglade Equestrian Centre. I hopped down from the truck. I’d come the scenic route, traveling through Golden Hills Valley on my way here from the docks at West Cape Fishing Village. On all of the post cards, West Cape looked lovely but what the photos couldn’t capture was the putrid stench of rotting fish. I thanked and paid the driver (I knew which one she’d prefer more) before I lugged my suitcase across down the lane and across the yard to where a girl with dark bunches sat at a desk. “Hello,” she said, in a heavy Jorvik accent. “Hi,” I replied smiling shyly. It was times like this that I wished I wasn’t 14 so that my parents could drop me off. The girl picked up a highlighter and poised its florescent yellow tip over the paper. “I’m Tyra,” she introduced herself, “and you are?” “I’m Kate Shawl,” I told her. As she highlighted my name she exclaimed, “From Britain then?” “Yes.” “Lovely. Now if you see the second house from the left, that one is the first year girls accommodation. You are the fifth here and will be sharing with Autumn Diamondson who has arrived already. I believe that your room is on the second floor to the left. I suggest that you get settled in before our introductory talk later!” I thanked her before I dragged my suitcase across the pavement towards the fourth small houses. I pulled the case onto the balcony area belonging to the house that Tyra had pointed out. My arms complained at the struggle. I finally opened the door into the small house. I slipped off my shoes and, as I did, I had the impression of a small - yet homely - area. There was a door to the left and stairs to the right. I followed the stairs up two flights (much to my arms’ annoyance) before reaching my designated room. Upon opening the door, I saw a reasonable living area. There were two loft beds with a futon and a desk residing underneath along with (I noticed) 2 big boxes under the futon. At the end of each bed was a combined wardrobe and draws. I stared out of the small window at the back as it had an excellent view of the working yard below. Alka, my horse, would be there after being sent ahead from England. I couldn’t wait to see him! Before I, however, had a chance to take in the room any further, a tall girl with shoulder length brown hair bounced into view. “Hi, I’m Ali. You’re Kate my roomie right?” she said very - too - cheerfully. “Yes, hi!” I held out my hand politely but she bobbled me into a hug before my fingers were even fully outstretched. She pulled away and started up an endless babble “I’m so so so excited to be here! I arrived super early because I only live in Valedale after all and I’m so grateful that I got in. I didn’t think I would because my parents are farmers and don’t really ride and the daughter of Charlotte Patterson is here… Like wow! I saw her at the tryouts of course. Imagine having Charlotte as your Mum! Crazy right… I have an annoying sister who came here two years ago and has told me all about it. She named my horse actually. Called him Smokeblood. Dumb name huh?” “I think so,” I laughed, Ali’s enthusiasm was catchy. “Hey, I’m just going to sort myself out and get unpack.” “Ok awesome!,” she nodded understandingly, “I can be a bit… full on… but hey! I’m going to go downstairs and make myself some grub before meeting the others who live here, see you then?” I agreed before looking around the Ali free room. This was going to be awesome! HAPPY EASTER! Hopefully, this year in my family we’ll actually celebrate Easter. What with none of my close family being Christian, there isn’t much point apart from the fact that I want chocolate. Easter means zilch to me (along with every Christian festival, in my opinion if you’re going to celebrate stuff then celebrate the original stuff rather than the other stuff). But enough about religion (I could rant about it forever). I hope that you all had a great Easter and now have loads of chocolates (or an easter toy and candles in the case of my mum). So, how many eggs have you managed to find?
Here is a photo from the the quest when you have to find the horse care stuff. Well that’s weird… I remember having to run around the whole yard and being the newb that I was then, that was quite hard. But now it’s all helpfully on one hay bale for you to click on. Also, things like shortening the Bobcats Race and making LT cheaper, make me think that newer players had it so much easier and better than older ones. Oh well, life if life.
I have 89/89 stars. Wait… Sorry I mean 90/90 because SSO snuck an extra star into Jorvik City! Haha that’s right! If you stand by the tram stop in Governors Falls, you will see the star on the roof of a green car. 10/10 points for sneakiness SSO!
BrA/N Wow so weebly wasn’t working on Wednesday which is really annoying. If you’re seeing this, it means that weebly has started working tomorrow (Thursday) I’m very annoyed but it won’t let me log in! Update: I managed to get in after an hour on trying, finally! Hello and surprisingly today was the Easter update. Now, I’m going to visit family tomorrow so I’ll have no internet therefore I am scheduling posts for the rest of the week. My fan fiction isn’t completed so I’ll finish it this weekend and upload it on Monday. But now onto Easter! Firstly there was the normal golden eggs and mini egg hunts. The golden eggs are in the same areas at last year so find a 2016 map. They are, however, in different places for different people. Tomorrow, I’ll complete my egg hunting (no I won’t, thanks to weebly I’ll do that when I get back) and upload a map along with which egg gets you what! But today I did do the mini eggs so here is a list of the mini egg hunts in an order that is useful for running around the map and what each one gets you! ★ Harold in Silverglade Village - Bread ★ Barney at Silverglade fields - a hay bale ★ Mrs Holdsworth in Moorland - Flora Spring dressed ★ The Security Guard in Fort Pinta - Colourful Easter Western bridal ★ Iris in Aideen’s Plaza - Mesh Purple Sweater (that’s actually a shirt) ★ Leonardo in Governor’s Fall - Easter egg ★ Klaus at Cape West Fishing Village - 3 x orange ★ Ewa at Golden Leaf Stables - 2 x banana ★ Jasper in Golden Hills Valley - hay bale ★ Carney at the Winery - Easter egg ★ Landon at Silverglade fields - 2 x grapes ★ Avalon in Valedale - Easter egg ★ Felicity in Firgrove - Carrots Also, the normal Easter time shops (with a mall like revamp - I’m not too sure if I like it or whether I think it’s cute) reappeared with something awesome for your saddle pad along with a cute new kitty from Freja. Also they’re making it so that you can transfer one foal onto multiple accounts - awesome apart from the fact that I don’t like the foal app much. SSO have brought out Haflingers on the app but as I hate Haflingers and I can’t see whether I’d like the horse when it’s older, I’m not getting involved!
Who called it? I DID! New story quests. Oh my god, I’m so excited. The story quests are part of the reason that I hang around playing SSO. I’m so so so excited for the next ones! This video doesn’t give away much besides that it’s coming out in April and that it involves three soul riders… But can we hope for the return of Anne? Well I’ll be annoyed if not! Another hope for the quests is that the small area for this year is, in fact, Pandoria which we’ll be able to enter even after the quests have done. I think that this would be awesome as I can just think of the amazingness there. I just cannot cannot cannot wait! I hope that it’ll be soon but Easter update first of course. Ah well, we better meet Anne and go to Pandoria after over a year of waiting… Hola! I was traveling down to my Aunt and Uncles house today and then when I arrived I went for a walk with my sisters (Bella and Eva). But oh well. Also exciting possibilities of possibly meeting some FR members but nothing it at all confirmed and I obviously need permission - sigh -. I’m have plans to write an SSO fan fiction tomorrow (I’ll post it over the weekend) but I have written a Harry Potter fan fiction on Wattpad and it now has three parts if anyone would care to take a peak. https://www.wattpad.com/story/104766492-the-girl-to-hide
