I haven't done a day in the life for a while but I thought I would today. I didn't really do a lot because when I got home I went to sleep due to the fact that my head was killing. But, since that painful moment I have managed to wake up and I needed something to do. I logged online and began to mess around with FR, first on chat and then we went climbing. We started off by climbing to Newb Hideout (I can't show you the route because it's to stay secret in the club) but here's a photo of us all there.
Then we did the Devil's Gap climb and on the way I finally waded through the mail. I get so much of it that it is tiring to answer it all, and answer it all with the me that everyone deserves rather than the grumpy me so that's why it takes to long to get a reply. I love the Devil's Gap climb, it's possibly my favourite in game.
After talking for a bit longer, I logged off and then (after some YouTube) wrote this blog and now I'm going off to bed. Night guys!
I first saw this week’s update in the cafe, trying to load the YT video on awful phone signal (it was only up on the YT at that time). I spent ages trying to find the right part of the video and then proof, I saw it and I was so so so excited. A WALKING PET!?! It’s a squirrel (which I love) FOR FREE THAT WALKS. It’s just amazing. Obviously it’s not star coins, but I guess giving away 600 sc might be a bit much? I still wish they did though haha. I love the way that the squirrel was programmed to run along things like fences when you’re next to them and I also love the way that the saddle bag is “closed” when the squirrel isn’t in there, it’s just really neat. Here is FR doing a little photo shoot with them:
It was also SSO’s 6th birthday celebrating and, so, as always there was a way of getting the yearly birthday outfit. In previous years, you’ve just had to talk to the birthday leader person each day and they’ve given you a piece of the outfit. However, last year they made a race and this year it was golden horse shoes. There are 75 in total to find around the Silverglade area (Silverglade, Moorland, Fort Pinta, Firgrove and Valedale) but you only need 40 to complete the set (if you’re extra like me, you’ll just want to find them all). I found them quite easy to find, start with Fort Pinta beach if you’re having trouble because there are so many there. I love this years birthday outfit. The tack is so shiny and I love the combination of colour and the saddle bag is very fitting for the squirrel!
There was also the normal birthday races and big cake in Firgrove, but I bet no one expected this…
It’s one of the commonly requested things to be added to SSO - weather. Well, the thing I want one of the most in game isn’t actually weather, although it’s similar. I want seasons. I know that in Winter is snows but I want blossom in Spring, red falling leaves all over the island in Autumn. Misty Autumn morning and Spring showers (this is where it’s more like weather). I really want SSO to be more real in the sense that it changes as the season changes. It would be nice to have people who do Autumn themes taking photos of places outside of GHV and I think it would add so much to the game.
Today, SSO said that their birthday celebrations will start this Wednesday! They said that they’d be giving this away:
It apparently will have a special ability and it looks like it’s a chipmunk/ squirrel/ fox or something. Maybe a saddle pet that can help you do something? I wonder if “give away” means everyone gets it or just a few players? We’ll have to wait and see for Wednesday - I’m so excited. What do you think about it?
I’ve given up with trying to record the quests! It’s honestly getting on my nerves that I need to restart the whole laptop every time I want to start recording. So, instead, I have found these two video clips of other people doing the quests. There are lots out there but these two are my favourite so if you want to rewatch the quests, it’s down below. (These
Because I want my own memories of the quests, here they are!
I really really liked the animations in both quests and clearly a lot of work was put in even if the story lines were very… petty. The stage idea is so cool and I think it’s a great space for friends, a clubs, to use to come together and mess around - FR has already used it. The fainting animations just 100% and it’s something that I will be using in my edits. Thank you so much for reading this blog, I love having the space just to say what I think and feel about things and it’s doubly great to have such a large number of people who follow it. Night guys!
I think that these jumps are so cool. I love it when SSO make it so that you can make your own tracks, it gives the game more texture and more things to do. One of my greatest wishes, is for XC jumps to be introduced into game. Things like a water complex. But for now, this is good enough. It allows clubs to do races that aren’t “classic” races. This allows more creativity into the game and when the new area comes out, it really want more!
I keep getting so behind on all of the things I love to do which is so annoying. I just only have about 4 hours at home and that’s how long it takes to catch up with Netflix, so you can imagine that by the time you’ve added on things like eating, SSO, fan fiction, owning and blogging it’s sort of hectic. So, I’ve taken the time to write about the fashion week even though I haven’t actually finished the quests yet, so I’ll save talking about the quests for tomorrow (although so far, they’ve been amazing). Instead, I am just going to talk about the new clothes which means I can get to bed sooner and so I will be able to actually focus tomorrow. Ok, let’s go, click on the photo to see my views on it.
Overall, pretty decent. SSO made some quests which I didn’t expect and some clothes that don’t normally look nice (like dresses) actually looked decent, although I think some clothes among them looked awful, but you can read about that up there. It’s really nice to still have things to do in game so close to the end of the year when normally quests are starting to die out. Good night everyone!
Have you ever thought about how weird it would be to live on Jorvik. It seems like there's actually very little to do because it's so small. You could ride from one end to the other in less than 10 minutes which is crazy - or at least that's the amount that we've unlocked. Also, it seems that basic things, like schools, have been forgotten and churches, mosques, synagogues and the like just aren't in the game at all (or at least not any standing ones) - too bad if you're religious. Also, SSO seems to have no babies in it at all. Indeed, children just spring into existence at about 2 years old - logic.
It was actually on these thoughts that I made an edit of Jorvik drama club which lets those children who aren't so into horses still have something to do!
Today, I uploaded my Autumn Lookbook which you can watch above. I thought that now was the time to do my 5 top tips to creating Autumn styled outfits in SSO!
I am so tired, literally had such long days and I haven’t been able to put as much energy into blogging as I wish. The busy time is now over and, from tomorrow, everything will be all back as normal (hopefully). Until then, I was wanted to repost the very first star stable fan fiction that I wrote. This was the piece that got me into my first series and then into the whole world of fan fiction before I introduced myself to the realms of originals, so here it is, very short but still, the most important thing that I’ve ever written:
I reached out. So slowly and ever so tentatively. My hand found the doorknob in a trice. I started to turn it and... Wait. Something was wrong. I turned upon my heels and headed back to the last door. Ah, I'd thought so. Rubbing my finger along the wood I found the message, " Ni ddylai ti agor unrhyw ddrws. Dylai Ti yn syml ewch drwy'r porth bwaog.".
For those of us less antiquated with Welsh, it translates into "Thou should not open any door. Thou should simply head through the archway,". Before we start to ponder on that, let me tell you a bit about myself. My name is Kitty, I'm 13 and I wouldn't even think of calling myself normal. Unlike the other children at Silverglade orphanage, I preferred to spend my time around nature rather than the other children. Not that anyone else minded. I was always the odd one out. Able to speak in both Welsh and Irish, always making tackles comments and...
But can I trust you? I suppose I'll have to tell you this bit as we get to know each other more. But I'm sure there is a question on the tip of your tongue, what am I doing? Well a week ago I was reading through a new paper when I saw:
"12 - 15-year-olds wanted to apply to Valedale Academy. Please send an application letter to: Fripp, The Stone Circle, Valedale, Jorvik"
The oddest thing was only 3 hours after I answered this letter I was asked to come with this beautiful woman with red hair. She called herself Miss Sunbeam.
And that was where this all began. Each day a new trial, a new test. Each one not harder, just different. Some knowledge related, some physical and some.. magical? I can't be sure, but I was asked to hold this stick. One that had been carved and it hummed gently in my hands. Another time he lifted his paper white hands and cupped them around my cheeks. His dark, deep, eyes searching my own violet ones.
He is Avalon. I think he is a druid or a monk. He dresses in a long dark robe, inscribed with runes. He speaks so slowly and hoarsely. He scares me, but I am enthralled. I can't turn my head, drop the stick.
Ah, here it is. An archway. I stepped out into the dark night, and there he stood with a small girl. "Well done Kitty of the Stars, you have passed. The other two will join us soon. The moon hasn't yet reached it's highest point, and I think there will be a lightning storm later. Welcome to the newest circle of Soul Riders."
I need inspiration for a blog post right now haha, completely out of it. The evenings are going so fast and I feel so bad that I'm not in bed because I have to get up at 6:30AM and then I get back at 6PM so it's hell on Earth BASICALLY. Until then, enjoy an amazing video by Northena.
I loved today's update so much! We got a quest which was to help an actress with her theater, which I thought was such a good idea. As an actor (I don't like to refer to myself as an actress, even though I'm female), I think it's often overlooked compared to the more fashionable singing and dancing, which is quite sad. I recorded the quests so I'll edit that over the weekend, but until then I'll just talk about them - spoilers coming up!
So, the main thing I liked about the quests was the animation in the acting. I thought that the animations were so smooth and detailed and I love love love the fact that we can go and do them whenever we want - some club events most certainly will be happening there. I also love the fact that we can now get mustaches and weird glasses. I just think that it's a new, fun feature to the game and mostly it's all quite cheap, the most expensive item in the shop being 59 sc for the pirate eye patch. There quests were very short but they did give room for more quests in the future, so I'm actually not that bothered. For this late in the year, it was an amazing update.
Finding good quality SSO fan fiction, I think, is quite difficult. Today I managed to find another one to add to my list, it looks really good although I’ve only just started it. If you’re a little bored and want some SSO fan fiction to entertain you, go ahead!
**This was not written by me, full credit the the actual author, I’m just sharing it around to support it because I think it’s good!**
Some of these characters belong to SSO and others were made by some friends of fine so they don't belong to be either! I don't know if this will become a series of a stand alone - we'll see.
“Do it Florence,” the dark figure said, eyes like daggers watched the shaking girl, who’s ginger hair almost glowed in the moonlight, hold the dagger. The girl was crying.
“I can’t,” Florence sobbed, “I really can’t.”
“Well hell, you better learn quickly then. Kill or be killed. It’s up to you.”
Florence was still shaking in front of a bedraggled looking girl, draped on the floor. She was fighting with herself and the knife. Kill or be killed? She couldn’t. She couldn’t. She couldn’t die. As she plunged the knife deep into the girl’s heart, she watched the girl waver and stutter into smoke. Florence dropped to the ground in agony that she’d even thought about taking a life.
Behind her stood two girls, one rushed towards her newly made friend while the other walked towards the dark figure.
“Holli, that was too far,” Kara warned.
Holli walked towards Kara. A stranger may have guessed her age at eleven but they’d be wrong. Inclining her head towards Kara, she had the physical appearance of looking up but, in fact, her eyes showed, very clearly, that she, Holli, was the one with absolute power.
“I suggest,” she smirked, enunciating each syllable with deadly accurately, “That you sit down. Now.”
Delilah, the girl who had rushed to her friend’s aid, wrapped an arm around her friend and pulled her sobbing form to the side. None of them had known what they’d be in for when they agreed to join Dark Core in hope for becoming the fourth soul rider. There was a complete absents of light there which was slowly obliterating all of the love in their hearts. When they were alone, Delilah tried to remind herself of her mother, Kara reminded herself of her girlfriend, Lena, and Florence reminded them all of the taste of sweet porridge on cold Winter’s mornings. Florence was the best at “picturing”. She’d picture simple things that meant the world to the three girls. Wooly mittens, soft glowing candles, hot donuts - freshly made.
Kara was the first to forget her own mother. Florence had forgotten everyone but Delilah had a strange strength within her to remember her mother’s laughing face and flowing hair.
The door to the baloney flew open releasing spiky orange hair - Darko.
“Stand up dark riders,” he countermanded, “Today is the day of the Dark Ceremony. Today, one of you will join our ranks and tomorrow? We. Will. Take. Jorvik!”

It’s a frequently asked question, which is the best horse in game? Well, I’m hopefully going to help answer that question. Firstly, according to stats, all horses have the same speed. There’s a lot of speculation about this, but for now we’ll go with this being true. So I’ll be looking at the jumping and turning ability of the horses. Jumping from the strength stat and turning from the agility and discipline stat. I’ll also choose the horse with the best jumping while having the best turning. However, I think it’s a lot more important to be able to turn in races with exceptions of certain races such as New Hillcrest where you have to jump over the water.
The best jumping horses are the North Swedish horses and the Shires, both with 5 in endurance.
For turning the best horses are the Akhal-Teke, Arabian, English Thougherbread, Hanoverian, Stella Francais all with 3 in agility and 2 in discipline.
The horse with the best in both is a Haflinger with 4 in strength, 2 in agility and 2 in discipline.
I think that that means when choosing your horse for a race, think “in the race do I need to jump a long way” such as over water. Most of the time you don’t. If you need hight, the stat, in my opinion, doesn’t help much, you just need to jump in the right place. If you need to jump a long way, use a Haflinger. But the rest of the time, use an Akhal-Teke, Arabian, English Thougherbread, Hanoverian or a Stella Francais!
On some days, I feel so proud and so honoured to own FR. Some of those days are when we’ve had a good laugh and others are days like today, when we just rock some photos. Whatever it is, I honestly stumbled into owning FR by luck and circumstance and when I first took it (mostly a couple of months after actually owning) it was a not so happy club with many friends having left, leaving people without them in FR. But overtime, we’ve become a happy place again. Where people laugh, smile and make memories that will last forever. And days like this, I remember why I love FR. Just look at our snazzy photos:
I really want story quests, of course, but they take so much time. While waiting, I really want more of the Alex quests with her mother. I think that it’s so interesting to learn about the soul riders life outside running around an island fighting evil. Those quests were really cool as well as, I think, helping some younger players understand that not every has life easy (especially as there really are some spoiled brats on SSO). Also, I think that it’s cool when SSO use more serious situations because when it’s just “stop the chipmunks from eating the road”, I’m bound to just laugh at it. I really hope that we get to talk to Alex’s mother again before the end of the year.
Too tired. Too stressed. 8 ’til 6 every day is getting a bit much! Night!
Well, I was right in thinking that the new horses were a Mustang, Hanoverian and a Sports Friesian. I'm just sitting in the car, writing this on my phone because I have been kayaking. I won't get the chance to actually see the horses tonight which is annoying because I won't be able to talk about them after seeing them in game. However, I can write about them based on what I've seen on social media, including YouTube (which is where the photos coming are from). Well, I'm guessing you're reading this to see what I think so, without further a do, let's hop into it!
Hanoverian- It's well known among my club that I hate Hanoverians. I loved the colouring (the mix of gold, on the face, and brown is just to die for) and the tiny little white patch on his head was also just so cute. I also love his legs and the mane and take but, the lack of detail? It's simply so plasticky that it's ruined! It looks like a bit of cheese. It’s really sad actually. I love the colours, I love the shape, I love the IRL breed but the lack of detail has ruined it on SSO!
Friesian sports horse - I’m a bad person and I can’t actually see much difference in all of the different sports horses. I quite like the horse. The socks are cute and, apart from the tail being a bit shiny, it’s a lovely horse! I really really love the shading on the socks, they look so smart.
Mustang - The one issues with grey horses recently on SSO, is their muscles are too defined and too dark which looks very unnatural. I like the legs, especially the way the black blends to brown, and I like the mane but the tail seems to be a bit too brown/ blonde and they don’t match at all.
I don’t think any are for me but they aren’t that bad considering some of the recent horses that SSO have released. I just want the detailed, matt horses back so bad! I think it’s a decent update as SSO will be starting work on the area of the year so do expect the updates to get smaller as they aren’t really what they’re focussing on right now. Ah well, it’s been a long day - good night!
Yesterday, SSO released a blurred photo of some new horses coming out tomorrow. It looked like Fri Sports and a mustang with some debate over whether the third was a lippi, hano or an English Thoroughbred. The legendary @avisiceheart made an edit of what she thinks they will look like (it will be interesting to see how close she is) which she granted me permission to share with you here.
I don't know if I'll buy any. I will look at the brown and the grey ones but we'll see. The picture looks like a Grey Mustang, Bay Hano and a Sports Fri in black with super cute socks. I think that it if they're detailed they will be really nice horses but if they're the normal plastic stuff then they'll be awful. Fingers cross for tomorrow!
Welcome to my little space on the large internet where I can share my thoughts, views and fanfics! I am you 'normal' teenaged girl, who loves writing, gaming and horses. I've played Star Stable online since 2nd June 2014 and I am currently a level 20 player on Cupcake Valley where I hang about with Frosty Roses and my 18 pixel horses!
