I have recently seen a massive increase in climbing in the community. It may be just that part of the community that I'm in but I wanted to talk about climbing and some locations you can do it.
Climbing is not glitching into areas. Climbing is going up places that SSO have made and released, they are just hard to get to. For example, the top of a mountain in Dino Valley was designed by the team but a lot of players simply don't know how to get there! It often involves good control and jumping over/ up things. It's quite frustrating (and I have little skill at it) but so rewarding when you get to the top. The views are beautiful (as you can see in the photo below). Here are some places you can climb, YouTube the routes or ask me:
I know I've done a few more but I can't think of them right this moment!

Foals have landed on Jorvik, I repeat foals have landed on Jorvik. Or rather they’ve landed in the phone app in this beautiful paddock and home stable. You can get three variations. At white (that turns grey in game). A golden colour (not technical terms but anyway), I haven’t yet seen this one in game. And a black and white spotty one that I chose - the spots turn a lighter colour in game. They are all Mustangs which aren’t my favourite breed - I think I’ll wait for some more before introducing my foal to the game for 969 star coins. Yes, you have to pay to introduce it and may people we complaining but I don’t see the problem? It costs the same amount as a normal Mustang, if anything it should cost more because it’s at level 10. I think it’s amazing that the app is free and the horse only costs the same amount as a normal horse! Every day you need to feed (you get a choice of foods), wash, groom, hoof pick and water. Then you need to train the foal - teach them how to wear a bridal and saddle pad and progressing onto side passes and things like that. It’s pretty realistic for SSO. You can also feed the horse apples, sugar cubes, carrots and something else - plus you are able to pad them. I’m not overly excited about the app - looking forward to the new Jorvik Wild horses more. New Jorvik Wild horses? Well SSO and Stacy Place have been hinting about two shire type Jorvik Wild Horses. One is like Galloper Thompson and the other is pink and fluffy. I can’t wait! But before we get all excited about that, a few more photos of the app.
A shiver ran through me as I sat in the saddle. It was different from last time I’d been up here as I couldn’t feel my legs. I found myself slipping but Lea caught me.
“Tash, she’ll fall” Lea said, her concern showing clearly. Tasha grabbed a length of some kind of rubbery materiel and wrapped in around the saddle, tying me to it. I felt a lot more stable but I had no idea how to go forward! I voiced this query to Tasha. “I didn’t normally see you kicking Baylis, you just knew.” Well I didn’t know anymore. Tasha passed me a whip and I used it to get him started. I felt bad because I hadn’t given him the chance to do it without the whip so I only gave him a gentle tap. Bay dutifully started forward in a walk. He padded around the arena and surprisingly I didn’t find it hard. Lea fixed on a lead rope before leading us into a trot. On small detail had been over looked. The sitting trot made Bay think we were going for canter and he started up even faster. But Lea slowed him down. Not everything ends in tragedy you know. I lead Bay easily through a course. However, after less than 20 minutes I was too tired to keep sitting up. It took a lot more balance when you couldn’t grip with your legs and my core muscles had become weak. Lea helped me now into my wheelchair before mounting up on Baylis herself and doing some jumping for me to watch. When Mum arrived, Tasha took her into her office. I saw Mum going very red with anger through the window. However, when they emerged she looked happy. We got in the car and she drove us home with no mention of it. Once Lea had gone to do some homework Mum took me out of my chair and lay me on the ground. “What are you doing Mum?” I asked. “Well if you ever want to make it as a rider you’ll need better core strength than that, do a sit up.” I loved Mum so much at that moment! I managed a shameful 6 sit ups before collapsing in a shaky heap. One day I would show those doctors, those people who stare, being in a chair isn’t a wall, it’s a door - you just need to find the right way through! This was a short one, I thought it would last longer but I go where the story takes me and it was asking to be ended here. I would love to hear any further adventures of Maya written by someone else. Feel free to send me any! I was questing on another account today and I did the quest where you had to read books with Linda. It was so cool! You actually got to read the books. It got me thinking, wouldn't it be so cool if we could actually read books in the library. I'd like to see Nick's travel guides, a History of Jorvik, lots of information about different places and possibly a weekly newspaper. Maybe some Jorvik children's stories and legends as well. SSO could even do a competition each week where the players send in the articles for the myths/ newspaper/ books etc and then the winner (s) get theirs added in game. That would be awesome as it would mean lots of new contact plus would inspire writing about the game. I really want this to happen!
Here are the pages from the books, I've included them because they give you an idea of what I think the books should look like and the content is actually interesting to read for people who haven't read them in a long time! So I've finally finished playing through the new quests! I quite enjoyed them, nothing particularly amazing but the spy quests were still quite cool (I would have liked it more if the spy agency was real. I thought that they were decent mini quests. None of them have much of a thrilling story line to continue but still they were quite cool. Warning: this may contain spoilers about the most recent update of SSO That sounds awesome Anni! I'll go get some boxes and put them by your stall. Oh, sticking up posters would be helpful, okay then. These are some of the best posters I've seen. Walking around with a beanie to show people? That sounds like a fun job. Why thank you, Anni even gave it to me as thanks for helping out! Pigeon quests I'll put a bit of bird seed out for them. Pigeons are so greedy that they'll be all over the place in seconds! So I need to clean up the bird poo now? Ok then. And you want ME to scare them all away. Wow. Great. Bye birds! Lost friend quests Yes yes. You want me to waste my time finding your friends. Ok then. Here you are, the ice cream parlor. I need to go and find your friend. She's over here. I hope you have a good lunch! Spy quests What? She isn't doing anything, just walking around. What are you even doing? You're a Jorvik protector - cool! Of course I do, so spill. Um... So you're self commissioned? So basically ... you're fake. Oh well I'll do your spy training course anyway (I don't need it, I have got into Dark Core 3 times without being detected). Done! Sure ok. But I don't think anyone would waste their times selling ice cream recipes on the black market. She's not doing anything. If I can't find any other evidence then she's innocent. Nothing is here, she's innocent! Yay, all done. I thought they were short but quite fun, livened my day up! So guess who forgot she hadn’t actually finished the quests? Yes, me. But on the bright side that means that we can talk about foals. I have mentioned them before both on my blog and Instagram. I actually received some comments from people saying that it wouldn’t happen. I don’t want to say I told you so but well I mean, I told you so.
The foals are due to come out next week but there are many unanswered questions. For example, will the app be free, how much SC will the foals cost? I know we aren’t going to get them for free so can everyone please stop posting “I will be so annoyed if we have to pay”. I’ve read that we’ll be able to train the foals and introduce them to our game play, so of course we’re going to have to pay in some form. -sigh- I’m very excited for the foals and I wonder what they will bring! As I climb on Wednesdays I never have time to do the quests and write about them, but I'll do that tomorrow. So today's update looks amazing. We have 4 new quest lines to do. This first is to help Annis set up a brand new beanie hat stop. I expect these quests will be short but the hats look amazing! I think I'm going to buy quite a few because they look so nice, more about that tomorrow. The next quests were feeding the pigeons, dull but involves xp so it's awesome! Remember that girl Sienna I blogged about? Well it turns out she's waiting for some friends, but they never appeared. The final quest is something more interesting. There's been a spy at the ice cream parlor, I wonder why?
It looks like quite a nice week, I'm going to log on now and play through at least some of the quests. What did you think of the update? If you've ever been really bored, you may have tried going to Dark Core's base and running into the big orange thing on the helipad. For those of you with lives who haven't tried it, you get a sort of purple edge around your screen (sometimes) as seen in the photo below.
Lots of people have (as you can imagine) been talking about this. Some people have gone as far as saying that this is the portal to Pandoria. It's actually the portal to Garnok, beneath the sea. So why does it look like it's working already? This makes me think that the team have started the code for it to actually work in the end. This is reinforced as the loading screen to the base has recently changed its look, revamped for the new quests? I'd love to go under the sea to visit Garnok (I mean hopefully we'd fight them but you know). I'd actually rather go to Garnok's lair thing than go to Pandoria. Garnok sounds a lot cooler. What do you think, would you rather see Garnok than going to Pandoria? So it's here, another flow chart. This time the question: the best championship for you. I got Valedale which is interesting because I rarely race and it is one that I enjoy more than the others. But I do l like Moorland, I just don't like how busy it gets. So have a bit of fun and try the chart!
Lea held - half carried - me down the ladder to breakfast. I just couldn’t aim my hands quickly enough towards the rung. By the time I had a grip I would have fallen 10 times over.
It turns out Lea would take a day off school today so she could be with me on my first day home. Mum shook her head saying that on the main land they wouldn’t allow it, but here on Jorvik people are a bit more relaxed about school as many jobs here don’t require it. Everyone on Jorvik besides my Mum that is! “Mum,” I said in my slow monotone of a voice, “Could I go to the stables today?”. Mum looked across at me unsure. I too was nervous about getting back on a horse but I loved the sport. I couldn’t let one tiny fall stop me, could I? I mean I could. I could just focus on improving my muscle strength so I can walk properly (I currently use a wheelchair most of the time because it tires me too much) and school (I must be so behind). That’s the easy way out and I want to at least try. Horses used to be my life before the … incident. Lea looked up from the washing up: “Mum, Tasha invited Maya to come to the stables if she wanted.” “Oh very well, but I’m driving you,” Mum said wearily. I stumbled into the car and we drove through the marshes to the town. Lea helped me out of the car and into my chair. I hate being in the chair. Everyone looks at you and they don’t notice anything else. Just the metal. You become “the girl in the wheelchair”. Nothing else. They don’t wonder about where you got that top from, they’re too busy wondering why you can’t walk. I sometimes want to jump up and scream “LOOK I’M JUST LIKE YOU, I’M NOT BROKEN!” But of course, I’d never dare. “Look Maya, it’s Baylis.” I’m meant to be scared, I was riding him that day. But I’m not. I put my hand out and tentatively stroke his nose. Tasha strode out into the yard, “I see you haven’t lost your nerve with the horses, what about in the saddle?” Mum wouldn’t like it. Mum’s not here. I’m going back in the saddle… After the quests on Wednesday, I was wondering around Jorvik City and I saw (not for the first time) some interesting people about that I thought could make quite cool quests. The first one I saw was this girl, Sierra, from the New Hillcrest racing team. She has a name which probably means some point in the near future she will be involved in a quest. It could be a really boring shopping quest or something but I hope it's something like the quest line with Alex's family. I think that would be awesome especially if we could help her and give her advice (and maybe join the racing team, but I suppose we are a Bobcat). These people all seem pretty behind an idea. I wonder what it's about? After playing so much Sims 3 I hope they aren't protesting about llamas! I hope that it's something like GED and in helping them in a quest we ourselves will be able to go to GED's headquarters (which I hope will be in Jorvik City). It would also be cool to meet some of Jorvik's crime force when they are trying to sort this out. The final thing I saw then I was wondering around was the queue at this cafe. The people at the front seem pretty angry at someone but other people are also sitting at the tables so it can't be closed? People are talking in groups which makes me think that they are talking about something specific, maybe something personal?
As much as I blog for myself, I also like to write posts that I think others will enjoy (providing I enjoy to write them). So today I just wanted to do a little form about how often and quite kind of posts! I think it will be interesting for me to see what people actually like and I'll see if I can base my posts around that as I have so many ideas and certainly not enough time to write them all. Hi, I'm posting this because I had a long post that I worked for ages on and Weebly deleted all my work? I'll repost this over the weekend into the previous post but I'm so annoyed at the moment, I stayed up to write this and I'm still not well but I was enjoying it and Weebly deletes all my work. Honestly.
People have been waiting for it for ages, there have been many Instagram posts screaming about it, Jaharla is finally here! I must admit, I wasn't one of the people screaming as I don't tend to buy tack that often since I just stick to the different colour sets that I currently have. No, I was way more excited for the quests as all of my friends have reaches level 20 and I'm so close - yet so far. To start these quests you must have helped Mandy find her step sister and then all you have to do is talk to Julie! Spoiler warning: this may contain spoilers about the most recent update of Star Stable Oh of course, Jaharla I knew what that was I just... forgot (not). Anyway it sounds interesting and I've been ill all day and I can't sleep anymore, so why not. Race you there! How lucky, the bus is here already. I better run to get on it else I'll miss it. Broom broom! Nice to see you Mandy! It's awesome to see that you're getting into riding. I think Julie would love to spend more time with you if you joined the Bobcats. I think it's great that you think it's time you got yourself tack, it means you must have improved so much since we last met! Yay, let's go. Oh... Who's this...? What happened? The birds stole your key. Well that's hard to fix (!). Which tree? The one by the ice cream parlor? Oh that's easy to sort. Found the keys. Here they are. You'll give me the honor of opening the doors. Because I've never done that before (!). (This whole island seems incapable or too lazy to open their own doors and fetch their own things. Honestly, and most of them are adults.) Nice, and you got me a thank you gift? I didn't actually do anything but thank you anyway! Now it's time to look at the actually clothes in question! The upper tack set is my favorite as I don't like the mix of colours in the second set. In the first set I love the colours and textures, I also like the gold emblem thing on the saddle. I'm not so keen on the bridle as it has random red patches, and I'd rather that the different colours were on the different 'straps'. On the second piece I love the colour s and pattern on the bridle and saddle. I like how it looks "formal casual". I also like the studding. I wish that the studding on the pad was smaller and I'm not a fan of the colour, but the overall texture and style is amazing! I also like the little horse in the corner. I quite liked the shop but I wish they put a bit more in there to start off since it is meant to be the best tack in Jorvik. However, it was decent. Also, Matilda and Games Master Ylva are finally back with the Star Stable Show! I love the use of the stickers in this, but I will have to wait and see before I vote on the hat!
All in all, this was a decent update. Nothing too big but just enough quests and new things to keep us going. I really want new story quests though! // Thank you very much to everyone who sent me well wishes. I'm feeling 100 times better and I should be almost back to normal by tomorrow! I took the day off today but I still feel very ill. I've been sick and I'm now going to bed. I need to sleep.
I have another cold. Headache, pains, hurts to move - the lot. I just managed to log on for a few minutes to check my mail and say hello to the Frosties. If you don't know what happened, check FR website or Instagram. We currently have 13 spaces which is obviously a lot but chat is actually more active than normal. So although we have less people, the people that have stayed are very involved, so it doesn't matter. I don't mind about us not being full and it's lovely to be able to add people whenever you want. Oh well, I need to sleep. Night!
The car twisted and turned through the mountains. I held my head to the window, it was cold. I used it to calm my nerves of leaving the hospital for the first time in weeks.
“Are you okay honey?” Mum asked from the front. “I’m fine Mum,” I replied, not very honestly. Lea my older sister gave me a sympathetic look and started fishtailing my hair. I couldn’t do it myself but I liked the feeling of my hair being ruffled through her fingers. We passed mountain after mountain. Each one looked more beautiful and mysterious than the last. We started to twist onto the road to Fort Pinta, and then to the bridge and the Inn. At the Inn, Dad got us food. I ordered a veggie burger and fries - the same as Lea. I also copied her with drinks, a smoothie. We sat watching the water rush under the bridge. I could drink the smoothie through a straw but it was harder to man over the burger and fries to my mouth. I managed it (straying myself with ketchup) before we payed and got back into the car. “Mum, Dad, can’t Maya poke around Dews Farm with me?” Lea said. Dad was driving but Mum looked up from her phone and replied: “I don’t think so honey, let’s just get home. Another time maybe?” I wanted to look around Dews Farm but saying so would have taken too long. We drove through the marshes before arriving at Crescent Moon Village. Mum opened the door for me and held me under the arms, helping me into our home. Our house was near the river. We had a compositing toilet outside as most houses here did. Logs were piled against the front of the house for the fire in the living room. We ate, cooked and sat in the same room downstairs. Up a tight ladder was the bathroom and Mum and Dad’s room. Finally, in the attic Lea and I lived. Mum helped me into a chair where I sat stroking Church our cat. For now I was content. Hello, it’s time for a day in the life with Li! My morning started with a weekend lie in followed by making waffles with my mum for the family. After a good old healthy breakfast of waffles and Nutella with a cup of tea, I logged on Star Stable to quest on my main second account I did some quests including some amazing soul rider ones. Before doing anything useful, it was time for the horse poop game! After that I uploaded my YouTube videos which you can watch here: I then did some club things but I still really need to do the points. I counted them up and lost them so thats… great! Once I’ve found them/ found the forms (I lost them as well) I’ll be able to do that. The next thing I decided to do was to have a bit of fun and make an account on Frost Valley! This reminded me about my other seconds account - Chiara Summerlund - on Spring Star. I popped on her to care for the horses and do quests. I then studied for a bit and made this very creative (not) poster! A quick chill at SF then it was training time for me. Torch is finally level 12! Then there was a Skype call with the leaders and an event which I hosted. The day ended with a bit of a shock, some of the club left to join another club. This is a big deal but it’s nothing FR can’t handle. I’ll explain in more detail another time but until then, stay strong!
I’ve finally find a scrap of time to finish the quests which means that I got the tack. You get some fruit, a cup of tea, a set (see below) and a saddle. I think there was a glitch with the saddles because the one that was meant to be red and pink wasn’t but the one that was Klaus's saddle was red and pink! Confusing right?
I like the colours of the outfit, but stats aren’t too good. I certainly will be wearing this but not that often due to the fact that I like max stats (I hate traveling slowly). Tomorrow I need to do a few FR things, training, studying and so much more. So I better get to sleep now and leave that until the morning. Night! |
