Today I finally got to do the first part of the new quests. I got up to (SPOILERS) the part where you’re about to collect the dog but I got a bit too tired. I found them quite boring so far but hopefully they’ll pick up.
However, I want to write today about the best bug ever in SSO. Yesterday, you could remove your gloves and your hat for all to see. I think it was amazing because in real life you don’t ALWAYS wear gloves and although you always (should) wear a hat, few people actually wear appropriate hard hats on SSO anyway. I really hope that SSO add this back at some point because I know so many people were excited about it over IG and then they just go and remove it anyway? Logic right there SSO. If you’re players like it then you keep it because surprise, surprise, without them you have no game. Would you like the no gloves and no hat to stay?

So happy that there are finally more quests! As much as I love kayaking, it is a pain having it on the same day of the update because I never get to play through the quests. But they look awesome! I’m just avoiding spoilers on Instagram and YouTube like bombs. People please don’t post from the quests until at least two days afterwards! This gives most people a chance to do them. I think I’ll film the quests so even thought it’s not too late to play them now, I don’t want to wake up the whole household for a video. So, tomorrow. Also, it’s amazing to find out that we’re a part of a community that is just under 10 million! (Just under because of the amount of people that have alts.) I also think that the new jacket is really cool unlike the rest of the codes that SSO seem to release which are things I wouldn’t dream of wearing! I think that this could make a really nice club uniform for someone (once an owner, always an owner). It’s also perfect for the Autumn season that is rapidly approaching. Finally, some of my favourite quests are back - the midsummer treasure hunt. Why do I like it? Free stuff of course, haha! And on that thought, good night.
One of my favourite things about New Hillcrest is that each house has character. Although I wish we could go in them, you don’t really need to to get a good overview of the people who live there. So here are some houses and what I think about them, let me know if there are any houses that you think have character!
Why they can’t just announce the winners I don’t know. Maybe it’s because all of Jorvik comes to watch? Or maybe it’s because half of Jorvik comes that they need to make it exciting else people would loose interest. I suppose that the money from tickets just help go towards bursaries for people. Ah, well it doesn’t help with the nerves!
So the announcements work like this: first they announce the top three of each individual result, then the overall and then they take everyone off into a separate room away from everyone to announce their complete results (i.e. who is staying, who is going). Even if you get in the top three for an individual competition, it doesn’t mean that you’re through. The 16 of us sat in the front seats at the riding hall. I could hear the crowds buzz like impatient wasps. I wasn’t impatient, but then again I was. It’s a funny thing getting news like this. You don’t want to know but you do. It’s because you only want to know if it’s good news. Will my news be good news? Tyra stepped up to the podium and silence fell like a smothering blanket, “Ok, thank you everyone for coming. I hope you’ve had a good three days watching these wonderful 16 riders competing after their first term at the Silverglade Equestrian Centre. I’ve loved working with each and every one of them. Which ever 15 are still here after today, they all deserve a massive star. So thank you very much and remember, you were the best 16 to get here, you’re still and incredible rider and you deserve a lot. So first dressage results! In joint third place were: Kate Shawl and Isla de la Coze!” My heart leaped at my name. Me? Me? Third? Oh. My. God. As I stood up, I meant eye contact with Ali who gave me a “go on” grin. Isla andI stood on the podium together, holding our bronze medals and yellow rosettes. We grinned at each other. Alice came to take 2nd and a boy I’d seen but didn’t really know (besides Blake we hadn’t had much to do with the boys) called Josh came first. Actually, he does look familiar from a three day show a while back… Grinning my head off like an idiot, reseated myself next to Ali. Although I kept a listen out before my name (my heart leaping before every announcement in case it was me), I wasn’t called. Show jumping was won by Elysia with Olivia in second (why couldn’t she beat that snob) and Alice in third. I didn’t think I had much chance in XC after falling off, so I wasn’t surprised when I didn’t win that. However, Blake came second! I grinned so hard and felt so proud of him. He was beaten by Alice but he did beat Josh. Now, the overall results. I was trying my best to add it up in my head but only knowing the top three results made it impossible. Alice would probably win, she had come in the top three for everything. Josh had been in the top 3 twice so he, too, would probably make it to the top three. But, without knowing the other results, I didn’t know the third person. BLAKE! IT WAS BLAKE! Blake held his yellow rosette and bronze medal for coming third, overall. BLAKE - MY BLAKE. Ahhh! Being me, I was almost as happy to be proved right that Alice came first and Josh second as I would have been if I, myself, took the podium. “Good luck,” Ali whispered as she went off to her room where we’d be told all our results. “You too,” I murmured back. I didn’t know how Ali had done. She hadn’t done awful but I couldn’t tell. “Please, oh please,” I begged someone, anyone. I don’t believe it God but there must be someone I can beg for Ali to get through. For me to get through. I walked into the room and took a seat, barely thinking. It was Pauline, “Well done on third Kate,” she gestured at my medal. “You did really well. You came 3rd in dressage, of course, 9th in Show Jumping and 11th in Cross Country.” I was trying to do the maths. I was in the later half of both groups. Where was I overall? “Which meant overall you came 6th with 29 points! That’s really good, well done and I hope you have a great half term. Here are the results sheets for you to peer over.” We shook hands and I walked out. And then I ran. I was through! I was through! I was through! I ran even more until I was in the thorn bushes at the side of the riding hall. I sat down in them to look at everyone else’s results: DRESSAGE Josh Meadows Alice Patterson Kate Shawl, Isla de la Coze Blake Wall Benny Wright Alexa Colin David Smith Olivia Kamble Elysia Butterfield Tom Dun Luke Place Autumn Diamondson Alec Stacker Simon Harvey Miya Hawkin SHOW JUMPING Elysia Butterfield Olivia Kamble Alice Patterson Blake Wall Josh Meadows David Smith Simon Harvey Alexa Colin Kate Shawl Tom Dun Luke Place Benny Wright Autumn Diamondson Alec Stacker Isla de la cose Miya Hawkin XC Alicia Patterson Blake Wall Josh Meadows Autumn Diamondson Alexa Colin Tom Dun Luke Place Elysia Butterfield Olivia Kamble Benny Write Ka1te Shawl David Smith Miya Hawkin Simon Harvey Alec Stacker Isla de la cose Ali had been so close in XC, I hoped she’d be happy. But was she through? I looked at the overall results, shamefully hoping it was Elysia. I knew her quite well. We only hung out in groups with the others girls but still she was a friend. She was close. But I was happy it wasn’t Ali. I guess it wasn’t Elysia because it only works out with the snobbish one going in stories. And this isn’t a story. So it’s fan fiction day and where’s the fan fiction? Yeah Li, where’s the fan fiction? Well, it turns out that I am so amazing that I didn’t realise how long it would take me to plan all of the results and make it so the person I wanted was out and the people I want to come first, come first etc etc. So I finished it around 10 past 10 and I needed to shower and generally get ready for the week. So, in other words, I was screwed. So it’s coming tomorrow! I’ve actually started writing it so possibly even tomorrow morning..? However, to make up for it you will get an sneak peak at my Twilight fan fiction (first two chapters) that is being released on my Wattpad on the 2nd September 2017. Do give me feedback!
CHAPTER ONE Esme walked into the hospital. Normally, she hunted before her weekly volunteering at the hospital, but what with one thing and another she simply hadn't had time. Her throat was starting to burn although it wasn't so strong that she'd bite a human on impulse. Besides, her friendly competitiveness with her husband, Carlisle, meant that she wouldn't back down so easily. Emmett, one of her three sons, insisted that she only volunteered to spend more time with Carlisle. In actual fact, she just had a good heart and bringing a smile to the face of a patient with no other visitors was a great enough gift. Even if Carlisle's presence without the overseeing eyes of her family was certainly a bonus... But she didn't intend to let anyone else know that. A few nurses glared enviously at her as she walked through the reception of the hospital. Of course, they did. They all fancied her husband but she was the lucky one who had been with him for almost a century! "Wow, I'm over 100 years old and yet I don't look a day over 26, " she mused to herself. It was true that in her hoodie, ankle boots and jeans she hardly looked old enough to be a Grandmother. But Grandmother of the sweet little Nessie she was and she was incredibly proud to be so. She wandered up the stairs towards to the wards, making plans to visit Mrs. Gren and then ask a doctor who needed visiting. -------------------- After the usual lengthy conversation about Mrs. Gren (this time with the poor old dear reliving one of her friend's - Jean - wedding), she continued up towards the next ward. "Hello, Mrs. Cullen," a doctor called out. "Good evening," Esme replied, turning to her warmly, Esme was almost always warm, just not in the literal sense of the word. "Are you volunteering or just visiting Carlisle?" the doctor asked. Esme returned the smile before saying, "Yes, I'm still volunteering but I'm heading off soon." "I don't suppose you have any time to talk to one of my patients? She's only 13 and alone in the world poor dear." The big heart of Esme Cullen fluttered at the thought of any child alone. "Of course," she said simply. The doctor led her to Ward 14. And gave the room number of "29". Esme walked down the corridor, carefully keeping her eyes averted to the people in the room. "Number 27, number 29," she thought. Inside the room was a small, thin girl, sitting on a chair by her hospital bed. She was pale with blonde hair and blue-grey eyes. Appearing almost shrunk in her large hospital gown, you would guess her age around nine. But at closer inspection, you could see her age in her eyes - no nine-year-old could be that tired. "Hello there, I'm Esme. Do you mind if we have a chat?" She girl sighed, almost as if she was surrendering which confused Esme somewhat. "I don't need a therapist," she told Esme quietly but firmly. Esme blinked (more out of habit than need) before saying, "I'm not a therapist, I'm a volunteer visitor." "Oh well hello. I'm Dawn," the girl, Dawn, told Esme somewhat awkwardly. Esme smiled and gestured to the book Dawn was reading, "Good book?" "Yes thank you," Dawn replied, her eyes lighting up at the mention of books, "It's all about a boy who was evacuated for the war. It's not awful but it's one of the only books in the hospital that isn't a picture book." "Oh that's a shame," said Esme, "What's your favorite type of book then?" "Magic, mystery, adventure - anything I can get my hands on really." "I could always pop up to the library to borrow some for you?" Esme asked. "You would do that?" "Of course." Dawn hesitated and reached over to a cabinet, "Here, I have $10, could you possibly buy me a book with it?" Esme looked across at how uncomfortable the girl's face was - she clearly didn't like asking for anything. So she said, "I'll get you a book." A large smile spread across Dawn's face, "Oh, thank you so so much!" Dawn reached out to hug Esme, a hug which Esme returned, surprised. "Visiting time is over," a shrill voice of a nurse called out down the ward. She gave the couple a pointed look before turning on her heels and squeaking down the ward. "I'll see you tomorrow, Dawn." "Bye, Esme," Dawn breathed, so glad that she would finally have a book to read but maybe to have a longer conversation with Esme. Although so far it had been short, something about her made her easy to talk to. -------------------- As she slipped into the Mercedes, an arm caught her waist and plugged her in before the arm started to tickle her. She laughed, closing the car door, before launching a tickle attack back at Carlisle - the tickler. It ended with their two bodies entwined together, cold stone bodies almost warm with the love of their unbeating hearts. If their hearts were beating, it would be like a bird - fluttering and flurrying - as that was their current feelings. "Good day?" she asked after kissing him passionately. "Perfect," he breathed, pulling her face closer and kissing it one more time before pushing her off and turning the keys in the ignition. "Yours?" Esme sat back in her seat and adjusted her hood until it was no longer ruffled before replying, "I see there's a new girl on the cancer ward." "Dawn, by any chance?" "Yes, how did you know? I didn't think you worked on cancer patients because you said when John Browlow was refused an operation on his leg that it wasn't your department," Esme's eyes burned angrily at the memory of how John could have been saved if only the doctors had operated. Carlisle sighed, recognizing Esme's anger. He had argued for Mr. Browlow - Esme knew that. "It's a delicate case," he replied simply. "What's-" "Esme..." "I know, I know, patient confidentiality." "Well, I have a meeting scheduled about her tomorrow, so I don't know a lot at this moment in time, why'd you ask?" "She asked me to get her books but she barely has any money and no family apparently either so I think I might get her a few more than that, up in Port Angeles tonight if that's ok?" Esme asked. "Since when have you needed my permission for anything?" "I don't... It's just she never asked for me to buy her anything..." Esme confessed, "But I feel as if I need to." "Ask Alice when we get back Esme. And on the subject, Alice her been pestering me about redecorating the house, please, I beg you, talk to her." The conversation drifted over to Alice's eccentric ideas and the rest of the car journey was spent with the two adults of the family plotting how best to stop her. -------------------- Swinging open the front door to the house, Esme softly spoke, "Rose,". Despite the lack of volume in her voice, a beautiful blonde girl appeared, so fast that it was almost like she'd come from nowhere. "Esme," she said in a voice that could only be described as beautiful. Carlisle followed Esme in from the car but walked up the stairs, probably to do some reading in his office. "I was going up to Port Angeles for some shopping, want to come?" Esme asked. "Did someone say 'shopping'?" a high soprano voice asked. It's owner skipped down the stairs grinning excitedly. Rose rolled her eyes, "Don't tell me that you haven't already foreseen our shopping trip, Alice." Impishly Alice grinned, "Of course I have, it's going to be great!". Internally sighing Esme spoke, "The Porsche or the BMW?" "Porsche," Alice answered, already out the door, catching the keys that Jasper flicked to her. Esme and Rose heard the engine start and, exchanging exasperated looks, raced to join her in the bright yellow, smug-looking car. -------------------- After the roundabout trip that Alice had taken them to Port Angeles (Esme and Rose were convinced she just wanted to show off the Porsche to everyone who was anyone), they finally slipping into the parking slot. Rain pattered down instrumentality all around causing the shoppers to only have a fleeting glance at this ridiculous car before rushing on, hoods up, to seek shelter. Esme led her two adoptive daughters to the book shop. As they opened the door, they were greeted with the safe papery smell. "So, if you take the 'specials' board, Rose and I will look through 'Teen fiction'," Alice said. Her high voice catching the shopkeepers attention and causing him to blush. "Alice, she only has enough money for one book," Rose replied. Alice fixed Rosalie with a look Esme would have been proud of. "I'm not going to let that poor girl only have one good book and I see her wearing some amazing clothes in the future - bought by us of course - and she has an iPad." Esme stared, "An iPad..." "Well, we better get started then," Alice chimed. Unable to resist Alice, they searched the shop and make a purchase of the Harry Potter series (by J.K. Rowling), the Shadow Hunter series (by Cassandra Clare) and the Lockwood & Co series (by Jonathan Shroud). This involved about 20 books all being packed into a bag (by a still blushing shop assistant). Walking out of the shop, they walked towards a big store, Rose clutching the bag of books to her chest, protecting it against the rain. Maybe a human would have found carrying that amount of book difficult, but Rose was no human and for her it was easy. The doors swung open for them as they walked into the shop. When it came to shopping, the three new the arrangement. Rose did the makeup as well as skin and hair care products, Alice did the clothes and Esme did anything that she didn't trust her daughters with (in this case the iPad that Alice had spent the whole time around the bookshop chirping about). That was just the way things happened, a simple fact like the sky is blue. Like crazed animals after their pray, they ran off to their respective shops with the promise to regather in an hour at the car. -------------------- Just over an hour later (it had proved very hard for Alice to peel herself away from getting a few things for Nessie), they met up at the car. Almost before they had shut the doors, Alice launched herself into an Alice clothing frenzy. "So I wanted to get her some nightwear that looked like clothing so that it wasn't awkward when we all visited. I saw some amazing stuff but in the end, I had to go with this ultra cute gray mini mouse top and shorts, plus a rainbow and cloud top and leggings. I even got a pair for Nessie! I got her a few T-Shirt dresses and shorts to wear during the day along with-" Alice continued burbling about each item of clothing in detail until Esme cut across her in the politest most Esme way possible, "And what did you buy Rose?" "Oh, just some shampoo, conditioner and body wash. You know how much humans need," Rose mumbled, trying to maintain her normal sulky look but failing at the excitement that the thought of the small girl Esme had described seeing all of this. "Oh I just got her the iPad Pro in silver with an Apple pencil and the keyboard like you said Alice," Esme said, she wasn't good with some of the modern technology but that didn't mean she trusted Alice to go loose in a shop full of a thousand pound products. She turned and gave Alice a scolding look, "Although what you didn't tell me was that one little pencil cost about $130." Alice looked guilty, "I may have forgotten that small detail but she'll love the keyboard, she loves writing!" "Esme..." Rosalie started nervously, "Dawn sounds lovely and all but you said you only spoke to her for a few minutes... Why are we doing all of this for her?" Esme remained silent for a moment longer than you normally would wait before answering a question. "She looks like someone I knew when I was human. We grew up together and Sadie - my friend - she loved to read. Always had her head in a book - that's what people used to say. Dawn looked so lonely and lost and, well, ill, I could hardly just leave her." Alice and Rose were silent before Alice said, "Well, I'm glad we're all going to be a part of her life." "What'll happen to her Alice?" Esme whispered, not that it made it any harder to hear with their vampiric hearing. "I don't know," Alice replied frustrated, "I think too many people need to make choices." "What kind of choices?" Rosalie snapped suddenly. "The Doctors in the hospital mainly, they haven't looked at the results yet." "Oh," Rosalie said. Esme knew what Rosalie was thinking, the last human to make friends with the family was now a vampire... The car started up the drive to the house, cutting everyone's thoughts short. Laden with items, they walked into the house ad set to work on Alice's idea to make a hamper to put all of the gifts in. Esme was still thinking about her friend Sadie and, at that moment in time, she was very glad that Edward lived with Bella. CHAPTER TWO Although a normally calm person, Carlisle had to work not to crush the door handle as he opened the door of the office. Out of all of the doctors in that room, of course, he had to be the one to break the news to Dawn. Sighing, he walked down towards her ward. Esme was going to be devastated at the news for it was clear that for whatever reason she'd taken a liking to the girl. "Bless her big heart," he thought to himself. The whole family had followed Esme's lead and last night had been filled with piling the shopping into a huge (sparkly) gift bag. Bella and Nessie had even chipped in with baking some cookies. Indeed, somehow Dawn had captured all of their hearts before even meeting her. He stopped and took a deep breath out of habit: he had reached Dawn's room. Stepping inside, he glanced around for the girl. It was easy to spot her. She just looked so frail and tired. How she had only just come to the hospital now he didn't know. "Well, I guess I'll find out..." he thought. "Good morning Dawn, I'm Doctor Cullen." "Hello Doctor, so what's up?" he detected the false cheerfulness in her voice instantly. "I have your results-" "And..?" "Dawn, I'm very sorry but you have a brain tumour and we're looking at weeks - not months." Dawn didn't look as surprised or sad as she should, "I thought so." Carlisle, however, did look surprised, "You thought...?" "Yes. I'm not stupid you know. I have been getting blinding headaches and awful nausea. Plus, the left side of my body just hasn't been working at all. I googled it and a brain tumour came up." "Then why didn't you -" "I don't want treatment." It made sense now. She was only here because she had a seizure and passed out, not out of choice. "So," she started, pulling Carlisle out of his thoughts, "I'm going to die?" "I don't think that treatment will make much difference at this stage, I'm afraid ." "How long?" Dawn whispered, her voice remarkably even. "A month, maybe less. We've caught it so late." She nodded, tears brewing in her blue-grey eyes. "Can I have some space?" she asked. Although she was trying to keep her voice steady, it cracked at the end, the tears flowing more freely. Carlisle nodded and walked out of the room. The other patients looked at the crying teenager sadly. Carlisle knew that some of them looked with pity and others with too much familiarity with the situation. Arriving back in his office, Carlisle checked his phone. Just a text from Esme: What's happening to Dawn? He replied with, Esme, it's confidential. About 3 seconds later, he received another text: How long will she be in the hospital? He replied with: Not long, she'll be going home soon. Esme replied to that with a heart, which he returned before getting back to work. He knew Esme wouldn't be happy that he refused to tell her what was happening until Dawn agreed but he also knew that Esme did understand why. Anyway, with Edward around, he wasn't sure that "patient confidentiality" existed. -------------------- Rosalie's BMW pulled into the hospital car park and slid to a halt next to a lavender bush. Careful not to scrape the doors, Esme and Alice hopped out on the lavender bush side. Alice pulled open the car boot and pulled out the moderately large bag saying "Get Well Soon" (Nessie had felt the need to fill in the letters with various patterns and colours). "Ok," Esme said, "I'm going to go in first and speak to her, then, if she's ok with it, you two follow." Both girls sighed ok. They'd tossed a coin at home to decide who got to hold the bag and Rose looked particularly sulky that she'd called heads and not tails. It was true that Alice did have an unfair advantage so she thought that she should get to hold it because Alice always won. The girls followed Esme inside the hospital and she led them up the stairs. They got many stares, even more than Esme normally got. Whispers of "that's Doctor Cullen's children" followed them everywhere but it wasn't anything they weren't used to. Indeed, humans' subconscious seemed to warn them away from the Cullen family "Which wasn't for no reason," Rose thought to herself, disgusted when she saw a newborn baby clutched in the arms of a young woman. -------------------- When they arrived at the ward, Alice and Rosalie perched outside on some blue chairs. "Esme, I don't see why you're bothering to ask, she's going to say yes," Alice said smugly. Esme gave Alice the don't-you-talk-to-me-like-that-young-lady look before replying (in the firmest voice possible), "Future or no future, it's up to her who she lets in." Alice sighed, admitting defeat, and let Esme walk into the ward alone, vowing to herself that the missed time would be made up at a later date. -------------------- As Esme approached Dawn, she noticed that her eyes were puffy from crying and she wondered if it had anything to do with the doctors meeting earlier. Choosing not to mention this to Dawn, she started up a normal conversation, "Hello." "Hi Esme," Dawn replied, she looked very hopeful about something. "How are you?" Dawn laughed and said, "I'm ok, hasn't been a great day." Esme smiled, "I can see that. I got you your book by the way." "Oh, thank you so much! You have no idea what it means!" Confident of Alice's prediction Esme continued, "However, my two daughters got a little caught up in the idea of shopping and they purchased a ... considerable amount for you." "I don't want lots of stuff Esme, although it's very kind to offer." Esme turned and pointed to the girls through the window of the ward, "You see those two girls, they're my daughters and they wanted to give you your gifts in person." Dawn thought for a moment, considering the options. Of course, like any other person, she really did want gifts but what she didn't want was people buying her stuff that she couldn't return with her own gifts because then she felt in debt. "You really don't have to," Dawn said. "No, but we want to." "Ok then, it would be lovely to meet your daughters, what are their names?" "Alice and Rose," Alice said as she approached the bed. Dawn thought about how much she looked like a pixie from a book. Next to her was Rose who Dawn compared in her mind to a real life Rapunzel. "Oh, hello!" Dawn gasped. Alice deposited the bag on the end of the bed. Dawn moved down the bed to sit in a crossed leg position next to it. Rosalie spoke, "Books first?" Waiting for some confirmation that it was ok to get the books of the box, and receiving a nod from Esme, Dawn delved into the hamper until her hands hit the first book. "Wow... I've seen this one in bookshops, The City of Bones." She picked up each book in turn and read the blurb. Her expression after each one brightened even more even though that didn't seem possible. After the books were all sitting neatly on the little table, she picked up a small semi-transparent gold make up bag. "Oh my God... I've never owned makeup before, I don't really know how to put it all on and stuff." Dawn gasped. Rosalie smiled, "I can help with that." Dawn smiled at her and unzipped the bag to reveal countless brushes, pallets, lipsticks and more. Looking through the colours, Rose had matched her taste perfectly. Most of the colours were nude or very soft, nothing too bright and eye catching. Dawn continued gasping her thanks as she brought out the hair and skin care products, which were tidied neatly away into a cabinet in the bathroom. Finally, she was onto Alice's clothes. Alice had been limited to two day outfits and two night outfits. Dawn pulled them out and surveyed each one, holding it up again herself. "And they all fit," Alice smiled. Although Dawn wondered how Alice knew that, she was too excited with all of the gifts. She carefully placed the clothes in her wardrobe. As she turned around she saw - "Do you like your new iPad, Dawn?" Alice asked innocently. "My - What - But - That's too much," Dawn finished. "Trust me," Esme said, "we have a lot of money and not a lot to spend it on. You deserve a few treats." Dawn was split because she didn't want to accept a present that she had no hope of ever returning but then again... Having an iPad would be nice. Slight uncomfortable she said, "Thank you so so so so so so much." Dawn's arms reached to hug Esme, a hug which Esme returned. When Dawn pulled out of it, she saw Alice brandishing a large paddle brush. "Dutch or French?" Alice asked, businesslike. "Dutch," Dawn said hurriedly. Alice set about the Dutch braid while Rose helped Dawn set up the iPad, connecting Carlisle's credit card and downloading a few apps for her, including Netflix. "Do you want to watch something," inquired Esme. Dawn considered for a moment, "Is Once Upon a Time on there?" Alice clicked with the pen, not her finger until she found the required program and turned it on. Through the first episode, Rose did her nails - silver for the figures and gold for the thumb. "This is my dream," Rose thought to herself, breaking out of her bubble and thinking about someone else for a change, "A child for me to help and love." When the episode finished, Alice bid goodbye and ushered Rose out of the room hurriedly, leaving Dawn and Esme alone. "Are you ok?" Esme asked. She didn't say it in the casual way that people say it, almost as a greeting, but in a way that sounded concerned - she actually cared about the answer. "I am now. Thank you so much for all of this, I really don't deserve it. What could I possibly do in return?" Esme made a split second decision - ask or not to ask, "You could tell me why you were upset earlier when I came in. If you want?" Dawn sighed. She didn't want to talk about it but then she did because it would be nice to talk to someone who wasn't about to write everything she said down in a folder and store it there. "It's just I'm going back to a temporary foster home before I go to a hospice." Esme's thoughts rushed, "A foster home... I wonder if we could..." Dawn continued, "Today I - Today I was diagnosed with a brain tumour and they think I have a few weeks left." Esme's heart sank, but her thoughts were racing, "Carlisle has saved people who were dying. No. We can't do that. But I can't lose her. I've just met her. And yet she's so delicate. So unique. So much like Sadie." Pulled into a hug by Esme, Dawn started to sob, "That was bad enough until my social worker came in and said that when I'm discharged, I'll go to a foster home until they can't cope when I'll go to a hospice. I don't want to go to a hospice and die there - alone." Hugging her tighter (but being careful that her vampire strength didn't crush the girl), Esme said fiercely, "I'm not letting you die alone." I haven't filmed a YT video for a while because I've been quite busy, but today I had a sudden impulse to film, edit and upload one. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I love the thumbnail and the music. I hope it isn't too boring! I've been stuck unable to walk today and I saw this wonderful video. I've come across it before but it's the first time that I've properly seen how amazing it is. Sadly, the YouTuber who made it isn't as active as she was but she still remains one of my favourite (up there with Northena, Connie and Sara). I don't suppose anyone knows how they edit the faces? I'm thinking Snapchat filters haha - do let me know! Just a little thought from a sleepy me. I love FR. I'm glad that I was given the chance to own it and that me and the club have managed to make it work - together. Yes, learning to own a club comes with mistakes but every mistake got me to where I am today with the club and so, I don't regret a single one. So, just a shout out to the haters, you know nothing about FR so enjoy your life, I'll enjoy mine with FR. THANK YOU AND GOOD NIGHT!
Today was the day. The day the whole community has been waiting for. A change in camera angle! But first, it's Midsummer! Yay! So that was cool just to have the quests again. Writing about the Midsummer quests I think was one of my first posts on the blog wayyyyyy back in 2015 - throw backs. Same old, same old. I can't wait to frog dance again! I do hope that SSO have fixed the speed glitch that appeared there last time though. And now, camera angles! Literally so happy about it. So, basically, SSO followed many players advice and gave options on the camera. You can zoom in and out so that it's your choice. You can have it like the new angles, old angles or even really far out. Or somewhere in between - it's up to you. You can also have the old jump or the new jump. Once again, up to you. I took back the old jump. There’s also player and cursor settings - has any figured out what they do? I think it’s been an amazing update. Now everyone is happy (yay) and Midsummer is here before FRs Midsummer event (double yay). What setting have you chosen for the new angle?
A lot of the time when I can’t get on, it’s not because I can’t get on my laptop, it’s because I don’t have access to the internet. Sometimes, when new quests come out I can’t even see what I’m doing due to the amount of people. What if I told you I know a way that this could you fixed?
Well, obviously I am telling you that, that’s what this blog post is all about! My idea is simple, there’s a version of Star Stable but that’s offline. So, what would happen is, you can play offline and then when you log on you’d sink up with the main game and be able to see other players, get highscores, etc. There would obviously need to be multiple changes to the game for this to happen. Number 1, you’d have to be able to save the offline game because the online game sends data to the server which stores your progress in game. That couldn’t really happen. Also, you’d have to be able to access the launcher from offline which maybe means that you wouldn’t need to log in each time. However, SSO would take up more space on peoples computers and I bet there would be hoards of glitches that you could do because of this. But what do you think? My mind was a breeze, flicking to any jump it felt like. It was unable to keep still, to stay focused, on the present. It was calculating the future jumps.
And it needed to stop. At the moment, Alka was doing almost all of the work as I really couldn’t. It was so hot and I was so nervous that I just wanted to crawl back under my covers that I’d been in a few hours ago. But I couldn’t do that: this was the Cross Country exam. Alice had done it with perfect precision. Elysia had only made one small mistake. Blake had - “Calm down,” I told myself. Too late. I was falling before I realised it. Instinct kicked in and I curled myself up and rolled to spread out the impact. Where on the course was I? We weren’t playing by the normal elimination rules. You earned points for how well you took the jump so where was I? “Alright Alice?” asked Tyra. I nodded so she continued, “You aren’t the first to fall, don’t worry. Check over your horse and walk back to the start.” She walked off, giving me an inkling of the direct I should follow. True, first I need to take care of Alka. He stood a few feet away looking apologic. Murmuring that it wasn’t his fault, I checked him over for any marks. He seemed fine. Sighing in relief, I walked back to the start. It wasn’t that far away which meant I would have got most of my points. After I’d answered questioned from my friends and Pauline had made sure I was ok, the whole class sat down. It was time for the results. It wasn’t just a simple tell you the results and get on with it. Oh no, it was a public announcement affair and they made it was dramatic as the results at the X-Factor. It felt so fake as we got onto the bus to Jorvik City (where the stage is). We were idly chatting but all of us were thinking, who’s getting through? Hi, it’s been three days which I HATE. I love writing but a combination of tiredness (my fault) and the heat (not my fault) has meant that concentrating on a laptop and typing it impossible. So, I wrote this early in the morning because I really wanted to write something. So, when you get liked with Jamie, you can now unlock this quest. It's taken me such a long time to unlock because I kept forgetting to do the dailies... opps. But, finally, here it is! No one, obviously. I'm the best there is! (Also, just give me all the xp you have in stock.) Sure, that's a very snazzy model. I still have a really old one, with a keypad?! (SSO needs to update our phones.) Oh hello, it's ringing. A few orders later and puff, here's Jamie. Yes, I'm all done. You want me to deliver it now as well? Ok, cool. Ok, very cool! If the person wants it for insects then it has to be that dude in Mirror Mashes. Let's go A delivery to the person in Crescent Moon and the head of NHC stables later, I'm all done so I sit down and have a good old catch up with Jamie. The quest gives some baggy checked pants, not sure about wearing them but we'll see.
I think it was a really good quality quest. I loved the phone part and I loved the phone app part. I think SSO clearly put a lot of work into them and it was worth the wait. Now, there's more rep with Jamie. You need to become popular but you do get another daily - delivering it to people. It's just more work for me! At some point, SSO said that they'd be making specialized races and it's really nice. I hope very much that it happens with other breeds as well. So, what was my point of view on the race. It was a bit weird to be honest, especially as I have a few glitches with tölt which made the race harder. It wasn't as hard as people had been telling me though, so that was ok. I didn't like it that much but it wasn't awful. I've seen worse races but I've seen a lot better (my all time favourite remains the Silverglade Equestrian centre ones - still unbeaten). What did you think of the new race?
On Sunday, I was having a very lazy day (which may partly be the reason for my writers block) and I have scrolling through YouTube videos, particularly ones about SSO moderators. Being the good person that I am, I don’t break SSO’s rules and so I have never had a warning off a mod or anything, so I found it quite interest. (You should be aware that many videos are faked/ include lies because make just want to have a chance to rage at the mods.) One certain video (and I haven’t been able to re-find it so I haven’t linked it) showed the mods answering a very important question: is the wild horse glitch allowed? And so the answer is yes! Because, as stated, it does not give you an advantage in the game. I think that this is good because some people play SSO just to wild RP and you can’t really do that without this glitch. Also, if you do the one where you mess with your files, it isn’t really a glitch so..!
In other news, today I finally got up to liked with Jamie - it’s taken so long. The quests were almost entirely really well done so I have a bit of work now writing through the quests which I’ll probably so tomorrow and post on Thursday? We’ll see. What’s your current rep with Jamie? I should have written this post ages ago but I haven’t so I’m doing it now. I know, no fan fiction. But, I’m really not getting any inspiration for it at the moment so I can’t make the characters feel “alive”. It’s kind of like my writing is so flat when I have no inspo and when I have inspo it feels live and rich - to me anyway.
FR makes me laugh, it makes me slime, it makes me face palm. It cheers me up because it’s just a bunch of random, hyper, people. People who you Skype with, not just user names on your screen. In some clubs that’s all people are but in FR the members and the people behind the screen. They’re the people that make you laugh so much that you can’t even draw breath to make it audible. They’re the people who you can spend hours with and it feels like only minutes. Even though you’ve never met them in real life, you can hang out with them for as long as real life friends. Yes, FR has events. Why? Because people enjoy them. That doesn’t make us a club that only cares about events. I can guarantee that at least one bunch of Frosties will visit FRs second club house (the Newb Hideout) every day. There’s always a Skype call between some members. Always people hanging out. There are events, which are made just to brighten up your day and encourage the newer members to join in - it’s far to crazy to get involved with otherwise. I’ve had an amazing day with FR today. I’ve been laughing so hard, smiling so much and above all just having an amazing time. And this is why I love FR. It’s a place where friends are family and your family are complete idiots. I know, I know, another "A day in the life" but I enjoy doing these posts and apparently people enjoy reading them, so it's staying. My morning started with a few weird dreams, eating breakfast and logging onto my account to add someone back to FR (someone logged onto their account and left the club for them). Then I logged onto the account that I quest on for a friend and did some quests and races. I then logged onto my own account to do some chores. I love doing chores as they are quick but give you a lot of Jorvik Shillings. Next, I decided to join FR in a secret place that the Frosties call "Newb Hideout" (you have to climb and then go through a pile of rocks and drop off a cliff to get there). I decided to try a bit of exploring and find somewhere new to climb. In the end I found a place on the edge of the Cauldron. It wasn't much of a climb but there were so many places I've never seen before plus a great view. Recently, I've been using one of my older alts to high score and do championships. It's easier than with my main as people aren't constantly going "Well done Li" really patronizingly at champs when I came 10th and I'm not ignoring club chat when I'm high scoring. So i did Valedale today. I still don't know the shortcuts but I somehow came third! (I blurred the names so I can keep my account private.) It was time for a good old classic "Li is ultra late for her own event) move as I ran to get to SF in time for my event. I made it though! In my event, people had 15 tasks around the island to complete like "doing New Hillcrest race" and things like that. The last task was to climb up to above Guardian's Dale and here are the squad who made it to the end - notice the before and after. Finally, I called for a pick up and chilled on the hay bale plus added a new member. Awesome day and good night! (Pssst, fan fiction tomorrow.)
“Kate, you really should eat something,” Liv fussed. Liv had almost become everyone’s Mum. She made sure people studied, got enough sleep and ate enough. Always standing out as a leader, maybe it wasn’t surprising that Liv had, unexpectedly, tripped over this role.
My stomach was a tossing, turning monster of nerves. The monster didn’t allow me to sit still for any more than a few minutes, let alone manage a meal. “Have a smoothie,” suggested Ali, chucking me a “Sunbeam Smoothie” - her favourite. Ali was adamant that she had met Ms Sunbeam, Jorvik is such a small island that I honestly would be at all surprised. Nodding, I accepted the smoothie and took it down to the stable (along with a large packet of polos for Alka). Slurping on my smoothie whilst slowly feeding Alka mints, talking to her in a low voice, the monster finally ceased it’s ravenous growl. Sighing in relief at the sudden calm I needed: I was in the zone. Our jumping competition was next up. Jumping was my least favourite, if that was possible to have a least favourite in riding. It’s to the I hated it, just I didn’t see the point in running around a course when the course is so boring and plain. Luckily, we weren’t actually doing a circuit in this jumping test. We were going to do a slightly alternated version of jumping accumulator. Every jump was number 1 - 10 with one being the easiest and ten the hardest. If you jump one successfully you get one point, jump number two and you get two etc. If you fail a jump you lose eight points - fun. You only get a minute and you have to jump at least seven different jumps. We rode into the arena with a last minute good luck whisper from Ali. Then I kicked. And so it began. I took jump number two - cleared. I jerked my left hand and took a jump (at an awkward angle). It was either a 5 or a 6 but it was cleared. Leading Alka around in a semi circle I took number number four and number number 9 but… Alka knocked the top bar off. Swearing to myself, I tried to clear my head for my next jump. I was riding around the jumps, letting myself fully recover before taking another. I saw Ali knock over three in a row as she became more frustrated at each. Almost easier, I brought Alka over jumps number one and nine. I was back on track! I ticked off a few more jumps before I heard the count down. Just to my left was the great, looming shadow of jump number ten. It could make all of the difference taking it. I was going to take the risk. Hoisting myself up into the jumping position, we took off into the air. I was straining my ears to see if we would clear it. I heard the sound of metal on plastic and felt my heart leap to my mouth. Had I just lost myself points? I heard the time up cry and turned Alka around, only to feel relieve rush through me for the pole was still sitting, in place, on the jump. Soon I’d know whether I’d be staying at Silverglade Equestrian School. I think it's high time to do another day in the life of me, so here goes. I spent my afternoon watching an episode of Met police, YouTube plus a bit of chatting with FR. I then spent some time outside before logging on for the event. The event was "Find Sharkie" - found her! Next, i got to do one of my favourite things as an owner, adding new members. So a massive Frostie welcome to Ellie - it's great to finally have you in FR! Then some people went climbing and I joined. When I got back the news on the general election finally had kicked off so I'm currently sitting here writing this with the news shouting away in the background. I'm about to log on and do my dailies as I've just finished up my blog posts (I have multiple blogs). I'm planning to then post on Instagram before going to bed and getting some sleep (it's an important thing to do). See you tomorrow, planning to upload fan fiction!
(If you enjoy reading about club events click here) Wow, I didn’t think they’d be this week because of the lack of information prior to their release. But here they are, so let’s take a look at them. Hmm… They aren’t awful but I don’t think I’ll be buying one, partly because I don’t like the colours and partly because I don’t like the remake. It isn’t that surprising as I hate most remakes… opps… Actually, the body is quite realistic to the actual arab (in real life, with their upturned tails, small heads and long legs) but I just am not feeling any of the colours. So I actually really like the body, but I’m never a fan of an all black horse or all ginger. I was thinking about buying the brown but the white bit really ruined it haha, I just don’t like it. I think I’m going to wait until some more colours come out and, if I like any, I’ll buy it. Also, SSO have changed the launcher to a more Summery theme, which I thought was nice. I still think it would be cool to have some kind of competition to have your work featured on the launcher! Finally, it’s the end of the Star Stable Show…unless something big happens (I’m thinking new area or the ability to decorate your home stable) You can vote for ideas for the next series - just check out their YouTube. Ok, well, night ♥
