Hi there! A very long awaited update today, we can get to Pandoria at will! Also, we can go there with our friends which I'm really excited about (club events here we come). It was frustrating before so I am just so excited that SSO have listened to player's feedback and opened Pandoria for everyone all the time. You may only enter it on your starter horse. Each day, the portal will appear in a different part of Jorvik (I'm sure there will be timetables coming out soon). It looks like this: Once inside, I noted that it was the same place as we went to on the last story quests, with just a couple of differences. There are picnic spots and you can call for a pick up to the portal (there is currently a glitch that if you use this feature, you will no longer be able to see other players in Pandoria unless you leave it and come back). It found it very confusing and will spend the next few days finding my way around so that I can hope to spend more time there without being confused. We don't know how long it is staying (but I hope a very long time). Here are some photos FR and I took together in the new area: Another update (that I didn't actually get the chance to look at) are these headbands to be found in Mistfall: Personally, it's not something that I would wear but I think it's great how SSO are branching out to be using different accessories. It allows players to express themselves and it is also a lot of fun.
I hope everyone has a great day!

Spoilers Hola! This time with the new quests, I against filming them. Mostly, this is due to the storage space issues that I’ve been having with my laptop. I decided that it was easier just to leave it and try and find some quests on YouTube. Sadly, no one uploaded a simple play through of the quests in English, but TotalCretin did do two play throughs of the quests, but the first one involved a lot of her exploring Mistfall as well as questing (which is obviously fine, it’s just not quite what I was looking for). But here is a play through of the two quests (videos are NOT mine and were made by TotalCretin, so give the videos and her channel a bit of love). Ok, so, quests. I loved the addition of someone who is blind. I think that it’s important that people from all aspects in life are spoken about in SSO (coughs, including members of the LGBT+ community). People need to learn to accept people from all walks of life, sexuality, disability, gender, race, and nationality (plus a load more that I haven’t mentioned). I liked the idea that they had been lied to about a disease, it just felt slightly more grown up than “we lost the key to the gate” and it’s nice to do. Also, it was nice to see that GED is still up to no good because we hadn’t heard from them in a while. Obviously, the quests were quite short if you think about the potential in a new area, but SSO did stress that they would add more in time, which is quite normal for a new area. I wasn’t so happy with the wolf quest, it didn’t really relevant at all. It was quite boring if I’m honest and typical that the wolves were the bad guys, even though it wasn’t their fault. I don’t think that it was really need if I’m honest. The quests weren’t amazing but they were ok and got me within 100 XP of level 21, so I’m happy about that.
What did you think? Ok, so here are my thoughts on Mistfall. If you want to find out my thoughts on Dundull, that's another post. It's easiest to lay it out by a photo of each area and talking about it, so that's what I've done. To find out about my thoughts on each place, click on the photo. I loved all of the little houses tucked around since you could invent characters for them all which could actually live there. I love the horse presences, the arena and paddocks, which are around as well of the obvious wildlife. I love the birds, butterflies and fireflies and are around this area, they're a new thing and I think look really cool. I also love all of the new planets: I think that SSO did a great job on them all and they look fab. Plus, lots are editable which adds to the idea that the people of Mistfall are hunter-gathers. The levels to the place are amazing and I love the sunbeams that you can find about, they're so pretty.
I mostly love the area; however, there is one thing I dislike - the fog. it's not as bad as I thought it would be and most of the time it is not an issue. But, sometimes, at night it can make it quite difficult to see and do anything in the area, which is a shame. But, for all of the reasons highlighted, I LOVE the area and I can't wait to spend more time in it, discover more climbing routes (already have two) and just have a good time. it was worth the wait so my thanks go out to the Team at SSO HQ - thanks lads. Night! Hi! Mistfall is huge and there’s so many things to review about it and talk about. Here are the things that I really want to talk about - Dundell review - Main land - Quest line - Horses & pets - Clothes & hair - Jorvik Rangers So I’m going to try, in the next couple of weeks, do some of these while not completely spamming the blog with only Mistfall content. Originally, I was going to do just a view on Dundell in this post, but I realised that no one would have a clue what I was on about and would wonder on my thoughts on the rest of the area and update. I assure you, it’s all slowly on its way. For now, I’m just going to do a short line summary on my basic thoughts on each thing so I know I’ve done it. I love reviewing and talking about things and new areas on SSO do my head in. I just love them too much! There’s so much to write about and there’s so much writing inspo and it’s always all too much so I suffer a mini blogging breakdown. Ok Li, breathe, breathe and write. This won’t go into detail on each thing, but it’s the short version of what’s coming in the next few days. As many people would know, I was very worried about the release of Mistfall. I didn’t like the way that they changed the name and I was worried it would be too misty, like Dino Valley. Then, I got worried it would be like South Hoof - no village. But I was very pleasantly surprised. Yes, it’s small, but it’s very detailed. I am getting used to the style of the area and I love the plants and the animals that fly around. I love love love the layers and bridges and all little passageways. Dundell has good Viking heritage vibes, with lots of evidence of fishing and gathering. It’s also a nice cross between Firgrove and Jorvik City, with cars but Firgrove houses, which is a nice transition between them. I love the way that horses are weaved into the way that the town works and the general atmosphere is just great. I have so much more to write on this but not today! The quests were great. It was nice to get an update on GED again. I found them almost challenging in places, which is good, and I think that the story line has some more grown up parts as well as the normal boring “the meat is poisoned” parts, but I get that SSO has to reach a lot of different ages. This is hard to just briefly touch upon, so you’ll have to wait for more detail. The clothes are all detailed and look great, although are expensive. I like the way that you need to get rep to get them, we haven’t had rep in a while so it’s good to have something to work towards. I think it’s nice that the clothes all match the vibes of the area, it just makes the whole thing feel a bit more real. The hair looks cool, I got the pony tail which is the new style. I hope it suits me! I love the Jorvik Rangers. They’re so cool and “woodsy”. I am getting so much inspo about them! There’s not a lot more to say until I review in more detail. So until then! Those are my very brief thoughts on Mistfall. As said, up until Christmas there will be lots of stuff coming about reviewing the area, so I’m sorry in advance for the spam. What did you think of Mistfall? The main thing about today’s upset was new hairstyles. This apparently was the reason that they had to change our characters into monsters, so I was hoping for something a little better than this. But, before I talk about it, let’s look at them: I really like the colours, although they were quite standard, they were nice. The first hair style (braids going to the back of the head) is quite nice. I really do like the way that it waves. However, the plaits seem to be really flat on the head. I wish that it had some depth, either french or dutch, not flat. The second hair style is just really weird. It’s so sticky up at the front, like part of the hair is trying to take off! It’s just very strange and very unnatural. I guess that you wouldn’t be able to see it under the helmet, but still. Today, they also released some more photos of Mistfall: I’m glad that it doesn’t look so misty. It looks pretty decent at the moment. It looks quite magical and pretty. What do you think?
Yesterday, SSO released an article telling us about lots of exciting things coming in game. It’s always nice to see that we haven’t been forgotten about and to be told things that are coming up! The article covered the following things: - New thing at Halloween & Christmas - Animations - Clothes - Hairstyles - Running pets - Horses - New area So I’m going to break each one down and talk about it. This is going to be quite a wordy post because SSO have given us only a few photos, so get yourself a hot drink, warm blanket and settle down to read. SSO have said that they’ll be adding new features to the holiday celebrating, but also keeping some old ones. I think that this is cool because I love tradition, but I don’t look forward to Christmas and Halloween quests anymore, as there is nothing exciting about them. We should get to see the new things happening at Halloween soon and SSO have left us with the little teaser of “For instance, we know there’s a rumour circulating that a mummy has been sighted on the island of Jorvik… “. I hope that it will be like Galloper Thomas was last year because that really was awesome! New animations. I don’t really like the current animations at all because they make taking photos really hard. I’d like to be able to customise the animations a little more but I doubt that will happen. So, I hope the new animations will be more realistic and make the whole experience of the game better. Of course, new clothes. There was a time when SSO released new clothes every week and because of that, new clothes don’t excite me anymore. Their weekly release have pretty much made new clothes an expected thing that is bound to happen with each update - even though it doesn’t anymore. Oh well, they might be nice. NEW HAIR! I am quite excited about this because we haven’t had new hairstyles of a very long time. I am hoping for a messy bun or a half up half down hair style, or French/ Dutch braids. Anything really that is a bit more “on trend” than the current hairstyles that sit in the horse salons. I like the idea of running pets but I’m not sure if they’re for me. I don’t really use my squirrel pet and they’ll probably be very expensive. But a very wise man (aka Professor Dumbledore) once said “don’t count your owls until they are delivered” so I will wait and see if I like them first! Apparently SSO will be releasing a horse that everyone has wanted. The only horses I currently want are Shetland ponies, but I don’t think they’re that popular to come out (due to being a pony). So, I guess, that it may be something that I have never heard of before? I hope that it doesn’t have a plastic look. New area? Well, I would have been excited but right now I’m actually quite sad. It’s had its name changed to “Mistfall” and now looks covered in mist. The mist really ruined Dino valley and I think it will ruin Mistfall too. I just hope that there isn’t mist everywhere. SSO are back to their old name changing tricks, May to Maya, Firfall to Mistfall. And no, I don’t think it’s because “players glitches in”. Here are some pictures: As I said, if there’s mist everywhere, like in Dino Valley, I think that it will be ruined. All of these pictures have mist in so we may be out of luck. However, if the mist is only in some places, maybe confined to the woods, it will be ok. Also, it will be released in 3 parts. I’m not sure how I feel about this. If they release the parts quickly, I don’t mind. However, if it takes 3 years to bring out the one area, I will not like it. I hope that the parts aren’t too small as well, but I think they’ll be about GHV size. I’m going to write a mail to SSO support about there not being mist everywhere and I’d urge everyone else to as well if they agree with me! What do you think about the new area?
Ok, well here it is, a detailed review of (MAJOR SPOILERS COMING) the area under the Stone Vault. I really really relayed loved it, especially after I predicted a similar area just a few posts ago! The way this is going to work, is I’m going to talk about each of the different areas within the room one at a time. I loved the area of there being places to read in a very formal manor, and also to practise magic. I’m not so sure how Fripp reaches them, so I presume they are used for druids. In this photo, I’d also like to talk about the general room. I love the way it’s made from stone with wood everywhere and lots of levels. Fripp is basically a magical squirrel so this really reflects his personality! The magic aspect is from the pandoric stones that you can see around and about. The books are amazing. I love the way that he has several old titles books and then some more modern day ones. Well, everyone needs to be widely read! I wish we could actually read the books… This is such a cosy little area. You can see Elizabeth coming in here and talking to Fripp while having some food. There’s a map on the wall, so I wonder what that’s about. Of course, the table has a book open - even eating isn’t an excuse for not reading! Definitely the place where Fripp makes his potions. I can just see him hopping between the desks with a bottle in his teeth, mixing up something to make Justin tell the truth… I loved this. I think it sets of the room perfectly. Druids (as in the religion) are very into stars so I like to think that this sky is like the sky in the Hogwarts Great Hall and it changes as the stars change, which helps Fripp map them and predict upcoming events. Aw Fripp. He’s sleeping in a tree which shows his true squirrelness! The bed looks so comfy and the pillows are perfect. I think that the blanket was Elizabeth’s idea though because it doesn’t really match the rest of the room - definitely something Elizabeth is into.
I loved the room so much. What was your favourite part of it? NEW DRUID QUESTS! This was so unexpected for me and I guess everyone else (although Esme Silverforce did mention a theory about Ylva’s hair turning pink…). But it was cool anyway. As I said briefly in the last post, I’m not 100% right now so I have only completed day one of quests (which I’m currently editing). However, my delightful sister has told me that you only enter Pandoria once, so here are some images of my fun in Pandoria. I loved it as always, but wasn’t it so hard to find your way out of? Do tell me I wasn’t the only one who got COMPLETELY lost! I really LOVED Fripp’s room underneath the Stone Circle. I hope to have a full review on the room up tomorrow because I can’t go into enough detail here. I wasn’t so sure on the character Evergray. I didn’t feel that he was a druid at all and I wish that SSO had made him more druid-y. He is still a druid even though he got kicked out, especially as his brother is as all (Avalon and Evergray being brothers was an amazing plot twist). I think, however, that his outfit was wonderfully detailed and he had a lot of character - which was great. The whole magic at Guardian’s Dale was so cool. I loved the idea of the four soul horses coming together to light the thing up, but I really want to know about the fifth. Where do we stand in it? I think my starter horse, Lovemagic, is currently praying for a statue to be made in name of him! My horse is almost as vain as me. I haven’t finished the quests yet, so I’ll go into more detail sometime next week when it’s all together.
One final thing, I loved the new druid outfit. My sisters look amazing in theirs, Eva in brown and Bella in Green. I love the tack and I love the whole concept - if it wasn’t so darn expensive! I shall not be buying it, but I really do love it anyway. I was doing some quests on a friends account, unlocking Epona, and look what came up: I really want Broken Tooth to come out and this shows that SSO still know that it exists! Honestly, it would just be such a sun update to maybe help Freja Sunfield with her homework in exploring a new place and, so, to unlock it! Or maybe we could actually find ghosts their and help them like how we helped the ghosts in Firgrove. The fact that the person says burned out house makes me think that were was a fire so maybe someone died?I don't know, but the island must be missing having people on it so I hope that it comes at some point!
Today I was training up my arabian and when I was in SH, I noticed that some of the landscape around it has changed to this: The fact that they're updating it means that it will be coming at soon. I think most likely before the end of the year. So in no more than 2.5 months, we'll be galloping around this brand new area! So what do we already know about it? Well, we're looking at this area here: That's the furthest South found of the new area. We can see a strip of sand and a hill or an island. Behind that are jagged cliffs and rocks that look impassable. This means that the area that we're seeing is probably the end of the area. However, it is set in the mountains so it's quite likely that we'll be able to be up mountains a lot (which is super good for me because I love to climb). The area looks very green and full of life, looking closer to South Hoof than Firgrove. Ah well, we'll see.
Don't expect any blog post tomorrow as I'll with some mates! If this is genuine, it's been confirmed - Firfall is coming to Jorvik! Eekk, so excited omg. I don't believe that it won't come out due to glitchers, so ignore that. Maybe it's been delayed by a few weeks but people have always glitched into new areas and always will. I can't wait for it, I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait! OMG! I think that it will happen near the end of 2017 and it'll be a mountain type area, similar to Firgrove (it pretty much has the same name). There better be squirrels and magic horses to be found - oh and lots of rocks to climb!
Do you ever look at the areas that are undiscovered and wonder where they are? Well, I do - all the time. I (think) that I have discovered all areas possible and yet there are still four areas marked as "undiscovered". The first one is "prison island". I've spoken about this already as it is in Pandoria and we know we'll see it soon. The second one isn't named. There are apparently "two ancient forts". This makes me think of the middle of Fort Maria or Kings Road in Golden Hills Valley. But, I'm not sure. There are quite a few places it could be and more to come out. I think that Bread Island is somewhere in Epona but is locked. I think it's the place with all of the diggers and things. These could be some quite interesting quests with the Butterfield's as it says that it's their island. The final one is believed to be in Dino Valley but SSO have confirmed that it isn't out.
I think it's annoying that they release areas before they are released. What do you think? I still wish that we got to keep our old starters, but here the new ones are. Lots of people have loved the update and, don't get me wrong, the horses are beautiful, I'm considering buying an old morab or something, but I'd just like to keep my old one because this isn't the horse I started the game with and I'm sentimental. Well, here's a before and after. The main change I think is the shape of the face which now looks like a lippi. I like the lippis but still it's a bit annoying that they didn't give it more character. I'm useless at comparing gaits and I actually didn't notice any difference...opps! I do really like the horse though, it's just really pretty, I just wish i had a choice in getting it rather than it being forced upon me. SSO also updated a few other things in game including the trailers, sign posts, chores board and more. I've only found four things so far but there's bound so be more so if you know any others, please let me know! Of the little new things in game, I like the new details and how that's more realistic but I wish that the colours were more natural and the textures less cartoony. It was okish, there were good things and bad things and I'll certainly miss my old starter...
But to cheer everyone up, you do like that you can now buy the "Team Star Stable" jacket in the mall right? So today's awesome update was the orienteering - finally. I think that it's really cool as it's a bit different to the normal race and as I am not a big fan of normal racing, that's good. I hope that it will help inspire new things to do on the game (as people are forever complaining about being bored over global). So this is the screen that you get when you start. The quest gives you quite a lot of XP (40) and 150 for the horse. The points are marked out on your map and you have three to find. It tells you when you get close (which is doesn’t really need to). The markers are spread out quite a long way through the woods so you do have to ride a way. I wish that it gave you directions (like go NORTH and turn SOUTH at the tree) because that would make it harder and in my opinion better! For completing the quest you got this jumper (which I actually really like). Overall, I think that it’s decent but I wish for a few things with it. It’s a daily race but you can’t high score, you have to do it with friends and I wish that you could do it alone for high scoring. Daily it gives your horse 150 xp and looks like a permanent race in the game.
I haven't actually spoken about it on here yet (which is weird because I've been loving it but oh well) but the Star Stable behind the scenes IG stories. So they were doing the concept art department this week (which, by the way, looks awesome) and in the background I saw this picture (sorry for awful quality). Does it look like another part of Jorvik City? You can see a train/ bus station and a street with people walking down it and trees (you’ll have to look close). We haven’t had our mini area yet this year and I have that it’ll be a few more parts of Jorvik City because that’ll be really nice. I hope that unlocking these areas with come with quests and a chance to explore parts of the city that we’ve heard about. The University, the museum, the school and more. I hope that it comes soon! What do you think this new area could be?
So, Firgrove. It’s new but is it better or not? Hm well I’ll start by saying it’s not awful before I go into much more detail but that there are still aspects about the old one I prefer. The view gives a good comparison but I’m going to talk about each new detail!
Lamps - I do like the new lamps. I think that they have more character and it just brings the heart of the town to life. Benches - It’s nice that the benches are a little bit more fancy and realistic, nice for photos. General buildings - This is probably where it goes wrong for me. I just don’t like the green roofs! I like the rest but the green roofs really are a large part of the area and it’s a part that (à mon avis) completely ruins it although this the unnatural blue windows. Plants - I love the window plants as they’re things we haven’t seen before (the wreaths particularly scream Firgrove at me). However, I’m not sure about the Fort Pinta touch with the blossom and the tall purple plants. It fells like they don’t it the area so well. Stables - Not a lot to say. I think that the stables are, however, the most “plasticy” thingy there. Town hall - I think that’s it’s nice FG has it’s own character to the club hall now but I don’t think it fits the village. I feel like the people of FG would gather in one of the big houses rather than a special hall with a red carpet. Cafe - Nice changes to the cafe! It now feels like a small family run business but I dislike the plastic blue windows. Fence and gates - I like the fence, it seems really nice and fencey (what was I meant to say about it?). I thought that the gates were lovely, I love the horse sculptures. Also the way that there are ladders really bring life into it and make it feel real. So there we are. FG wasn’t as bad as I thought since a lot of the buildings weren’t too cartoony but the green roofs, bright blue windows and stable ruined it for me. I’m also finally starting to feel better (hence why I had the energy to write this). So I’m off to bed ready for a productive day tomorrow! I have 89/89 stars. Wait… Sorry I mean 90/90 because SSO snuck an extra star into Jorvik City! Haha that’s right! If you stand by the tram stop in Governors Falls, you will see the star on the roof of a green car. 10/10 points for sneakiness SSO!
Hello, Li here (well who else would it be). I’m casually sitting in a sea of piles listening to music. I’m going on a two day expedition Thursday and Friday which should be awesome but packing is the most stressful thing ever! You may have noticed that I did not post yesterday, that’s because mostly (like right now) I really enjoy posting and I have way to too much to say and not enough time to say it. However, sometimes I don’t feel that and I just want to do other things. I never want writing to become a chore so if I don’t feel like blogging - I won’t! Anyways, onto what I wanted to share today. Yesterday, the Frosties and I decided to run around Dark Core base pretending to be normal (photo below). While I was there I noticed how much of the area could be opened up for future quests and I wondered what I’d like to see there. The first thing I’d like to be able to go inside the base again. Below I have a photo from last time and I think we can all agree it was awesome! Wouldn’t it be cool if the the other soul riders were caught and we had to break them out using our own powers? So it would be a bit like the South Hoof quests with the horses but with the soul riders. Hopefully we could meet Justin in there as well because I think that we can convert him back to good yet! Hey, I’ll tell you something really awesome, if our own character pretended to be evil for a bit - I’ve always wondered what bring a Dark Rider is like. Below is a photo she you’re running away from DC in a quest. I’d like this to happen again but next time you to be running away from the Dark Riders and you get to send spells at them. And you could choose which spell to use as well by pressing different keys so you have more control over the quests (something that I always like because when you have more control it’s like that I myself am doing the quests which always makes it more enjoyable for me). So that would be amazing. Basically, I just want more awesome story quests. What do you think?
The mall. We have all been there, whether to quest, buy clothes, meet friend or even see Raptor. The mall opened in Spring 2015, much to everyones’ excitement. We all flocked there to see the new clothes and at first we flocked in Evian. The clothes were simply other clothes moved into the mall. Over time we saw more and more clothes coming, on a regular bases. Is this good for the game? Well it means that Star Stable have the chance to experiment with clothes. we know this as we have seen a massive rise in the quality. Plus this means that there is something for everyone and their style. By this I think the mall is good. However, it is one of the few places in game that both Star Riders and Non Star Riders go. Most Star Riders stick to Star Rider areas but they do go to the mall. I like this because the newer members of the game can start to feel the true vibe of their server. On the other hand, more bullying may occur because of the level mix. Overall, I do like the fact that the mall is a chance for newer and older players to fix and that it gives everyone a chance to enjoy their own style!
In Jorvik City there are quite a few shops (almost all for the rider) that sell clothes. These are brand new clothes and most of the shops are in the mall kind of style meaning that there is plenty of room for lots of items to be added in the future. There is one clothes shop in Aideen's Plaza but the rest are at Governor's falls! There's so many nice pieces of clothing here that I could't write about them all, so I will pick out from favourites. I really like the purple gloves, They are quite a nautral colour and could therefore fit into an outfit with purple as the base, overtone or undertone. I also like the yellow cardigan. I like the details of the hem and the buttons. I also love the texture as it reminds me of something that is crochated. I love all of the shirts with top things over the top. I think it would make a lovely club uniform as it has that smart-but-not-too-smart look about it. I love the black. dark coloured boots simply because I love the laces detail and it would match with a lot of outfits for the same reason as the purple gloves (they would be great together). Finally, I love the denim shots because I love the details on them and I was looking for something just like this in Summer, better late then never!
I love these clothes but I don't get how SSO designed 23 new pieces of clothing plus the new saddle bag shop on top of the new area. I wish they'd spent that time on expanding the area for the realise but oh well, I still like them! I will post some of the quests tomorrow with another post as well because I feel like JC things must been everywhere and getting boring! |
