Hello everyone! Just got back from my wonderful holiday so while I'm recovering ready to get back into blogging, why don't you check out this video I upload while I was away:
I think that this is probably the most hated on update this year after chat banning (which is weird because I don't think it's too bad). So without further a do, let's head into the update.
So firstly, Jojo Siwa, an American singer and dancer (google her if you want to know more, because I'm not the person to tell you) will be doing the debut of her new song next week at the disco in Fort Pinta.
In preparation, each day you can find 7 JoJo bows hidden around game and swap them for clothes. Don't worry if you miss a day because the bows will stay along with the bows for the new day! There is also a shop which currently sells 5 t-shirts which each cost 1sc or 10js - a very good deal.
Now, where's the problem with this person coming to SSO? Well, SSO are yet to understand that most of their players are between about 11 - 16. Jojo is more for 6 year olds (she's the rainbows and unicorns type of person). Therefore, most of the SSO audience is not within Jojo's market and this is why she had got such a negative response for coming to the game. Although I do not like her, I have got some free/ cheap items from her coming and I can always not go to the disco. I think SSO made a mistake in adding her, but she's here now so you might as well try and make of the mot of it.
Also, SSO have brought back the fashion market for a week - yay! I love the fashion market, but I was sad to notice that they only added some bridles. I think they could have added much more considering the market has been gone for months.
Although some of the bridles are very cheap, I think that 119sc is way too much for a bridle. However, others are around just 25sc - which is quite a good value. You can pick up four new bridles for 100 sc which is an amazing deal. They are all western which doesn't tend to be to my taste, but they're still quite nice. My favourite is the "lake western bridle" at the bottom.
They also released 3 morgans, which are already in the game. The morgans still cost their normal price but they game with free tack, namely a free bridle, saddle, saddle pad, saddle bag and leg wraps. I thought that this was a great deal and so I welcomed my new horse home. Welcome Holl aka Minihollow!
The final part of the update was 20 new stars have been added to the game (I will make a video about finding them soon). I love finding stars so I think that this is a great thing. It's nice that star stable haven't given up on them and have been adding loads more recently. There was also a new way of viewing the stars that you have found which I thought was pretty neat:
I filmed all of this, plus a bit more, on my YouTube channel. So please like and subscribe (totally not self promo).
I actually think it was a good update, not the end of the world like some people were making out! We have a lot of good deals and cool stuff, even if I don't like Jojo Siwa.
Are you happy that Jojo Siwa is coming to Jorvik?
Wow, I have not blogged for so long! I felt that over Christmas I'd just come off of blogging completely rather than uploading crap quality posts like last year where I just wrote about my IRL day. Ok, so, I'm going to do just the normal Wednesday update post but I hope that everyone had an amazing Christmas! I didn't expect very much of this update and so was aware that it would probably just be New Year's fireworks, so I was quite surprised when SSO threw two more things into the mix.
The first was 6, or should I say eight, new stars in Mistfall. SSO said that there were eight availability but you could only actually find six of them. I made a video on the locations of the first six.
As I mentioned, there are two more. They are both in an area that is closed off but you can jump across without glitching at all to get one of them (you need to get some crumbs from Dundull, there are plenty of YouTube videos showing you how to do it). Some players have almost managed to get the other one, but that requires glitching which I'm not going to do. I think that means that there's a new place in Mistfall coming next week, theory post is on it's way!
Also, SSO have worked with a pop group called Dolly Style. I, personally, have never heard of them and don't like the sound of their music, but it is the kind of music that younger players might listen to. The music will be playing at Fort Pinta disco and, in addition, they have given us four free tops if we use the code: DOLLYSTLE. I think that this is really generous and the tops are actually pretty decent!
Just as Christmas was different this year, New Years is different. Fireworks are now only avaibile in the Christmas market, which I think it a bit of a shame because there's no reason they can't be everywhere else. Fireworks have the same system as before, you buy a firework and set it off. This is what the fireworks area looks like:
They have also added an hourly New Years fireworks display. At first I thought that it sounded really cool but it only lasts 10 seconds which is a bit short. I think it should be a lot longer and the small amount of time it lasts for is a major disappointment.
New Years stuff may only be bought inside the Christmas market, which is again a shame because the whole of Jorvik celebrates New Year, not just Santa. As always, there were dresses being sold and half of the community seemed to be obsessing over this one blue dress. I must admit, it's very different from the other SSO dresses, which look like balloons, and it seems pretty wearable, which is really nice to see for the first time in game. I really hope there are more dresses in this style in the future.
Finally, they added this feature to the horse market:
It's good that they don't want to clutter it up but I am starting to feel that the horse market is becoming a dumping ground for the horses they they want to pretend don't exist so they chuck them in the horse market, they only come up once every other week and now you can't even see them all at once. I guess it's because they don't want to.
What did you think of this update?
I’m sneaking off to bed now but here is a video that I made today. I’m quite happy with how it turned out besides the bit with the phone because that’s such bad quality. I am so in love with the thumbnail haha, I do love the Autumn vibe which I hope to add to my blog soon when I make my Autumn theme. I'm so close to 100 subs (I actually noticed my subs today, well done me) which is very cool because I literally have just made a few videos for fun and people have decided to subscribe? Ok, night!
I’ve been getting more into making videos recently as you know and I’ve just finished filming one with my friend, Caitlin Lightlake. But this one, I’m really proud of. I came up with the idea last night and I just love it. I love the video as well as loving editing it. I think it’s my calling to do videos (as well as writing, of course, that came first and will always be the top). It’s just so fun to get given a sloppy mess of a recording and slowly, with the right cropping, music, titles and other audio, to fashion it into something that people will (hopefully) enjoy. It’s so fun to have and plan ideas out as well. It brings together writing, sometimes acting and just a general love of entertaining others. It’s fun and it’s something that, in the coming academic year, I really hope I’ll find time for and won’t let my studies take over
Well, I was right in doubted the Moon Festival because instead we have new quests. I prefer to film doing them because it's just so much easier and lets you see all of the animation so here is my video of today's quests!
I really enjoyed them! Ok, they weren't connected to the actual story line but still, they were well animated and I loved the part where you clicked on the picture for clues and circled it. It was also cool that the chipmunks were responsible and I couldn't handle the cuteness! You got a decent amount of XP and it's quite good considering SSO are working on a new area - Firfall. The quest line had something more needed but the animations really were amazing!
I haven't filmed a YT video for a while because I've been quite busy, but today I had a sudden impulse to film, edit and upload one. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I love the thumbnail and the music. I hope it isn't too boring!
I've been stuck unable to walk today and I saw this wonderful video. I've come across it before but it's the first time that I've properly seen how amazing it is. Sadly, the YouTuber who made it isn't as active as she was but she still remains one of my favourite (up there with Northena, Connie and Sara). I don't suppose anyone knows how they edit the faces? I'm thinking Snapchat filters haha - do let me know!
Here are a few things you should know about me in FR. Without FR I would have stopped SSO because they are the only reason I log on. FR is a great place, they make me laugh, smile and it’s just a place where people can do whatever and be themselves. I was so proud of this video that I made because I felt that it truly reflected FR! And yes, I do have a speaking role and no I"m not telling you which one...Guess!
So, Firgrove. It’s new but is it better or not? Hm well I’ll start by saying it’s not awful before I go into much more detail but that there are still aspects about the old one I prefer. The view gives a good comparison but I’m going to talk about each new detail!
Lamps - I do like the new lamps. I think that they have more character and it just brings the heart of the town to life.
Benches - It’s nice that the benches are a little bit more fancy and realistic, nice for photos.
General buildings - This is probably where it goes wrong for me. I just don’t like the green roofs! I like the rest but the green roofs really are a large part of the area and it’s a part that (à mon avis) completely ruins it although this the unnatural blue windows.
Plants - I love the window plants as they’re things we haven’t seen before (the wreaths particularly scream Firgrove at me). However, I’m not sure about the Fort Pinta touch with the blossom and the tall purple plants. It fells like they don’t it the area so well.
Stables - Not a lot to say. I think that the stables are, however, the most “plasticy” thingy there.
Town hall - I think that’s it’s nice FG has it’s own character to the club hall now but I don’t think it fits the village. I feel like the people of FG would gather in one of the big houses rather than a special hall with a red carpet.
Cafe - Nice changes to the cafe! It now feels like a small family run business but I dislike the plastic blue windows.
Fence and gates - I like the fence, it seems really nice and fencey (what was I meant to say about it?). I thought that the gates were lovely, I love the horse sculptures. Also the way that there are ladders really bring life into it and make it feel real.
So there we are. FG wasn’t as bad as I thought since a lot of the buildings weren’t too cartoony but the green roofs, bright blue windows and stable ruined it for me. I’m also finally starting to feel better (hence why I had the energy to write this). So I’m off to bed ready for a productive day tomorrow!
Today was mostly spent on editing these two videos. I’m happy with the first one but not so much the second one - oh well. I need to get better at commentating, there was very little materiel to work with in the end just an hour of film. I loved the quests and I’ll talk about them under the videos (spoilers).
Ok so I was a bit annoyed that we rescued Justin rather than finding Anne because I prefer Anne and I don’t give a damn about Justin. But the animations were very cool and my particular favourite was when we turned into the DC men. I enjoyed the flying horse bit but it seemed for convenient rather than likely if you ask me, but it still looked cool. The story line was a bit short for 15 months of waiting though. Just, hijack barge and save Justin from being eaten by sharks. But the animations were worth it! However, I know most people wanted to go to Pandoria to rescue Anne which they said we would do but in the future.
And so here are the Jorvik Wild Horses, back to this side of the mountains! They look so lovely, their natural colours are just a beautiful as their magic ones. I really couldn’t choose but I didn’t want to get them all so I decided buy the pink one (I’m not a fan of hot pink but the natural colouring is to die for), on my alt the blue one and my sister will get the green one. So I can enjoy them all!
I actually love the colouring for both natural and magic for the pink and green ones but I don’t like the blues natural colour as it’s too “blocked”. However, blue is my favourite colour so it’s all good. I’m not such a fan of the body shape because I don’t like shires and these horses have the shires build with a squashed face. But they are magic so I suppose that makes up for it!
I’ll love photos of the horses in game on my Instagram. But for now here are the photos on the game news.
The SSO news is here and we can finally see the episode that Stacy Place has been getting us all hyped for. I actually hate this hat, oh dear. Are you going to enter the competition? It’s quite a clever way of advertising but I’m not sure I’ll be getting involved.
I didn’t really have a value what to write about today. I’m so stressed out about a test tomorrow (which isn’t actually important really but the subject means a lot to me) and I still felt like I had to come to the FR event tonight, so I haven’t had much time. Although, I did waste an hour just scrolling through YouTube so I thought that I’d share some of the videos that I watched, please let me know if you know any similar channels!
It’s finally feeling like Christmas. It took 2 days of Frosty Roses theme week, cold and tucked up reading a book (Eliza Rose) in front of the fire before I felt it! So have you been keeping up with the Star Stable advent calendar? Well here are the days and their gifts/ codes:
14th - Jumper (W1NT3RSW3ATER)
15th - Hat (W1NT3RH0H0HAT)
16th - digital wallpaper
17th - saddle pad (WINT3RP4D16)
18th - 20% off SSO merch
19th - saddle (W0WS4DDL3)
20th - digital wallpaper
It’s been a really good year so far with the SSO advent calendar: I feel the outfits are less ‘newby’ and I will actually wear them rather then mixing it with other clothing! It’s good that as the players fashion sense has changed, so has SSOs.
As I was tucked in front of the fire I saw a video from one of my favourite SSO YouTubers, Northena. I decided to watch through the video and I was amazed:
This theory makes so much sense! I think that this is awesome and I am getting so much inspiration from it to write a story. However, I think that your character isn’t quite a reincarnation. I think that your character is simply a descendent and has the powers ‘switched on’. I really like this idea as I think it explains a lot of things and isn’t that far fetched.
On the subject of the main story quests, have you seen the new loading page of Dark Core? It’s really cool and I hope it means new story quests soon! Some think tomorrow but I doubt it as I think they’d give us a sneak peak first. Almost certainly we’ll be saving Anne but I hop there is more training in there as well!
I was meant to have a productive day when I got home this evening. However, I fell into the YouTube trap! I was watching these two videos (both are YouTubers paid to do a ride through of Star Stables).
I thought that it really help some throwbacks of being a newbe and not knowing much about the game! Everything what what you wear to how you act is different. I remember I used to think that if you used up all three buckets of water then your bucket is disappear and you wouldn’t get another one. I also thought that at a certain point in game that there would be a test for the ‘Jorvik Riding Academy’ and if you didn’t get in then you would have to start the game again. And now I don’t think I’m a newbe, but looking back in a year I am sure I will think ‘what was I doing’. In fact, looking back on this post in a year I will be thinking ‘what was that quality?’ Ah those happy newbe days where you could wear whatever you wanted and people wouldn’t judge you!
I’m really interested, what did you think as a newbe?
I love things like this, I think they’re very clever and this really spurs you’re imagination. Will this ever appear in game? Isn’t it weird how the dots on the stars are moving around? When the last point of the star is found will there be some awesome quests coming? I’m sorry but I’m just hooked! This is so clever and one day I’d love to be able to do something like this, but I don’t have the ideas.
This video belongs to Northena, I’m just pointing it out as I find it very interesting!
I'm actually proud of myself, I made my first YouTube video! Not long ago now I made an account on the Swedish server Air Star. I decided to film the second day of quests, and I think I'll make it into a full Star Stable ride through. Here I am on Cristina Moonpeak questing. So yes, that derp you here talking is me!
I also have a "Buying a Friesian" and "Cleaning my home stable" videos coming up. I'll upload one tomorrow and one Monday. So watch out!
So the ghost train finally came out along with a mini quest and some new tack! (I will upload the track tomorrow). I felt the ghost train was excellent! A bit slow? But the things jumping out at you were great and many moved towards you. I particularly like the dark rider, Mr Sands and Mr Kendall! Here is me reviewing it:
Also there was a short mini quest about a pet!
Lots of people liked the top, I wasn't so sure! I felt this update was just another mini one really! Upload the track tomorrow!
Welcome to my little space on the large internet where I can share my thoughts, views and fanfics! I am you 'normal' teenaged girl, who loves writing, gaming and horses. I've played Star Stable online since 2nd June 2014 and I am currently a level 20 player on Cupcake Valley where I hang about with Frosty Roses and my 18 pixel horses!
